Good morning house,
i have had 2 delays, i re applied and i will be going for my interview soon.
my father is an alumnus of my proposed school Bowie state university Maryland, he had his MBA there in 1985.
However my question goes thus if asked why Bowie state university? and i respond this way- The positive impact of BSU on my fathers life influenced my decision in selecting this institution, he is an alumnus of the institution. So also Bowie state university is an interdisciplinary research based institution that equips student with both theoretical and practical skill which i believe will address the problem of lack of expertise in the Nigerian public service.
Does this response make any sense ? Opinions will be highly appreciated

This is rather a superficial answer to the question. it okay to talk about your father as an alumni. But it needs not stop there. You might want to go in depth into the positive influence the school has made on its alumnus by citing specific things in your dad's or the achievements of other alumnus. I remember answering this question by citing two U.S. presidents and two great writers who graduated from the college I was going to be attending. I was approved in no time and you could have heard a needle drop.

Your welcome

Please I have another question for my cousin in Abuja. The resumption date on his I-20 January is 3rd, the next available date for an interview in Abuja is Janaury 8th. Though he contacted his school for a late arrival letter. Can he go ahead with the late arrival letter and the I20 that states January 3rd for the interview ? Thanks.

Weldone bro @gbaby4live
Please I'm in serious need of your help
I need some tutoring, though I have prepared answers but still I need a lot of tutoring and a mock interview. My interview is coming up very soon please.
gbaby4live:

I think it's better to put it this way,

VO: Why this School?
You: Aside from the fact that my dad is an Alumni of the schoo which made me feel at home(or any best statement),and out of other school that I considered while applying, I've been able to figure out that BSU is an international bla bla(you must say something unique cos those VO are not stupid)..
NB: make sure you tell the VO the problem that you are trying to solve, I'm sure you don't want the VO to crack his/her head trying to figure out the problem you are trying to solve for your country..
E.g Some will say, I'll be solving a problem in the accounting sector here in Nigeria..

But the best response should be, I'll be solving the most critical problem in the accounting sector by introducing this and that which will make the sector to be this and that...

Sowie can't type for long sad

Sure, he can still make it as far he's with the late arrival letter.. but why Jan 8th that's far now. To be on a safer side, he should book and keep on checking the interview dates cos it's always changing o..

Me : how was ur weekend?
VO: It was fine, and yours
Me: great
VO: You are going to study in US right
Me: yes
VO: How do you know about this school?

VO: What was your project doing your undergraduate?
Me: ( I can't remember, I stammered for while with incoherent sentences) Misconceptions of history where I identify how to use history to solve crises and violence such a Bokoharam in a historical way which I conducted in University of Lagos. I also took it to public school to inculcate spirit of patriotism in them.
VO: what part of history will you be studying?
Me: World history, because I will be teaching IGCSE history when I returned to Nigeria.

You can request for an emergency interview from the interview booking website. All you need is a letter from your school stating you need a nearer date so as to meet up. That was what I did and I got an early interview date.

Please I need suggestions B.Y. Mafit acting a little strange. They said no admission counsellor till next year, and I'm in doubt of which exam to pay for this year. I need ideas please, are they legit to pay to at this time?

Secondly, I'm thinking of enrolling for GRE since it's a prerequisite for graduate school.

If only you read your Bible you'd know there is a space for work and there is a space for Grace.
From her transcript she asked God for 30sec and she had it.
For others that were delayed, God is also with them something might be wrong somewhere for them, probably they didn't prepare well or it's not God's will for the right now.
Either ways brother @Twoods God also recognize hard work. But in her case it was grace. Do you understand.
And I think we need to talk

I read my bible and I also see that those who are saved show provable evidence of change in their lives. I see none of that in Nigerians. They are just as dishonest, as fraudulent... they simply cry about grace the loudest.

If you really do read your Bible as you profess, you must have come across this verse "So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself..., He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." You are so quick to judge Nigerians as dishonest and fraudulent people, when you even seem to be worse off. You can prove Nigerians wrong by returning back to your country as you told the VO while you had your visa interview years back (Well, there's nothing to prove in the first place since you've already exceeded the 2 years given you to study in the USA).

From all indications, you are even more dishonest and fraudulent. You're just some dishonest, insincere, proud being who thinks he knows it all and is perfect; you always think you're perfect in all ramifications and can never be corrected. It's just a shame that you risk continuing your life this way.

And just so you know, I am aware the truth is pretty bitter, especially for a proud, unrepentant being like you. So, I really do not give a hoot if you get pissed off by this piece. However, if this piece gets you pissed off, you can help yourself by running into a fast-moving train; I hear there are high-speed trains in New Jersey, uh...you should know that by now.

American jails are full with American and so is British jail

Give us some credit .. There are loads of good hardworking Nigerians but we had this conversations before
