jango99: I had my interview a couple of days ago. Visa delayed.
VO: hello Me: hello Vo: pass your passport and i20 pls. Vo: what school are u attending? Me: Lincoln university, Oakland California to begin my MBA with a concentration in management information systems.
Yes, some people have gotten their Visas with Lincoln university, but to spend $XX,000 On an MBA from an unranked school (even Lagos Business schools is a better alternative) will not seem like a wise investment to a very strict VO( that interviewed you) Vo: what's your highest qualification? Me: bsc Vo: what course? Me: industrial chemistry Vo: What year did u finish? Me: 2012 Nothing at all wrong here Vo: what have u been doing since then? Me: I've been working in my parents vegetable oil production company and since my dad is late, I'm expected to run d place in a few years. This is actually why I'm going for d mba, to acquire the necessary professional skills. Vo: OK, what do u do there? Me: I work in d fractionation department
Well, the VO simply didn't buy this answer; the average Nigerian graduate doesn't want to end up working in their parents SME, even entrepreneurial grads prefer to stay on their feet. Next time, you can simply say your work at an Agricultural Processing plant. Never volunteer more information than is neccessary Vo: what other schools did u apply to? Me: California state university, east bay. Vo: did u get admitted? Me: unfortunately, no Vo: why were u targeting d San Francisco bay area Me: because of the diversity in d place, I'll get to meet pple from all over d world, learn from them and have new experiences, which is vital for growth. Without new experiences, u recycle your thinking. Again, very unconvincing, the bay area is one of the most expensive areas in cali, and considering that you're paying heavily for an unranked MBA in one of the most expensive cities on earth, it further makes little financial sense; No offence there. Vo: OK. I'm sorry u do not qualify for a visa at this time. What did I say wrong?? He had denied three people seeking f1 visas just before me. He looked strict and businesslike. He was typing all through and was barely looking me. Unranked MBA + Expensive City + Weak Employment History = your denial 7 Likes |

Hello, pls I'd like to know how to send transcripts from Senate without going through records unit as they are even on strike sef. Sent you a pm KISSABLE0606: Lol Sorry ooo, emmmm but if the school is university of lagos, there is a way you can get your transcript without going through school and its stress, the person works at senate also, you could just talk to him and get sorted..........Irony of life.....
I introduced a friend to this thread some times back and he turned a visa agent over night.
Meanwhile, my Alma Mata still refuse to release my transcript on the grounds that they couldn't find my 100level results. This is after 6 years of graduation from the school oooo.
Academic affairs said I should go to dept, my department said I should go to course advisor. Course advisor said I should go to hod. HOD said I should go back to exams and records to hold them responsible because for me to have graduated, obtained degree certificate, and served, then it means all my results had been sent to the Senate as at the time of my graduation.
The only help they are willing to do for me is to convert me to direct entry which won't go well because my proposed school requires WES. and WES requires all my results. I'm frustrated.
Good GPA for that matter. I have been on this transcript issue since July this year. I have missed spring 2018 period, now hoping for fall and yet, no transcript.
I'm depressed, frustrated. Tots of "sniper" have been filling my mind lately. |

post=63070658: check Lewis University, Chicago. MBA is around 25k. Before you apply to this school for an mba, check where the alumni are currently working. That should give you an idea whether to attend that school or not. There is way too much myopic, knee jerk, shortermism around here. Mostly because many here are frankly unintelligent. There is a reason top mba’s are expensive, greater than 50% of the cost is repaid in the connections you make and type of jobs available to you. A $25000 mba is cheap today but will earn you nothing tomorrow. I’d rather take school loans to get in a top mba program, knowing I’ll make all that money back in less than 5 years at a top earning job. But of course... I’m just pissing in the wind with the kind of folks here. The serious students already left the country months ago. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Thanks for this. sotall: The most important thing is that you need to have someone who is still a student in uniben who will help you in running around (very important), if the person is in same department as you graduated from, that will be nice.
Then you apply officially through Transcript exchange site. Register and pay. Then call your friend who will help you in running around from your department to exams and records to monitor the process and put the needed pressure when it is necessary on anyone that is slowing the processing down. |

Thanks Femi femi312: There is no special way to contact potential supervisors, all you have to do is send email and pray he/she responds. Faculties are always busy so 2 out of every 50 will most likely reply you.By the way you don't need to contact any faculty for mba admission since most of the time they don't get funded due to the nature of the course. Constraining yourself to only Maryland because your family is there wont help you, what if the school you get admitted to is not close to your family? Anyways here is a link to schools to maryland http://www.4icu.org/us/maryland/ 2 Likes 1 Share |

That is an impressive GRE score. 310 overall.
For your course, you should consider going for Msc in Mathematics or Statistics at the University of Texas El Paso. Every masters student in either department is given funding - insider source. Best of luck! Thanks bro. God bless 3 Likes |
