With Gov Wike's submissions as regard the chairmanship of the party, am beginning to support the chairmanship not going to the southwest.. The southwest is not actually what they have made others to think of them..they are unstable and inconsistent and seem to the most disunitied region in the country....

I'm sure everyone knows PDP is unlikely to win all states in the SW. However, if a SW chairmanship candidate is able to corner SW votes during an election then I think that should be considered. It is all about appealing to the sensibilities of a group of people for the greater good of the party.

The ekiti candidate doesn't have the support of Gov Fayose.

Bode George and kashamu are also not in good terms and southwest PDP started the crisis in PDP which PDP is still paying for today because of their back and fort fight amongst themselves...

Southwest again despite holding various PDP position have never delivered to PDP on a mass scale..

What influence does the southwest candidates even have within the southwest?

Bode George was once deputy chairman with prof ladipo as Nat Sec, yet PDP kept loosing in the west because of internal rubbles within their ranks....


So at the end,looking at it politically, Southwest doesn't have anything to offer the PDP as regards the chairmanship, order than potential crisis from within the zone which will grow to consume the whole party.

Am sure they will compensate the southwest with something more rewarding but the stability of the party will be at risk, if it goes to the southwest in their present disunity.

while I support PDP to cede the chairmanship position to a credible and strong south west candidate, I say nothing will happen if PDP alienates the SW. This issue of SW people claiming they are relevant in the scheme of things is an overestimation. PDP can win without the SW. It happened in 1999

He never said SW aren't important, he said Southsouth is loyal to PDP 100% and if any zone deserve it then it should be Southsouth. He also said PDP had President from Southwest yet it never helped our fortune in 2011.


Southwest aspirants should stop blackmailing Southsouth and I am confident that Secondus will rout all Southwest aspirant even in their Southwest. In fact, the only winning machine in Southwest (Fayose) is not supporting ANY candidate from the zone.


Meanwhile, states with PDP Governors/HOA/HOR etc like 5 SS and 3 SE has more delegates than states without like 5 SW states.

Akwa Ibom delegates: 115
Lagos delegates: 61

Meanwhile, aside Lagos state, Secondus will clear 100% Southwest

Thank God you are facing reality now but ekiti can't give you enough votes to do the magic. You still need to get more votes from the SW to do it and that's where the problem lies again, majority of South westerners just like northerners won't vote for northerner with a running mate from the SE.

Me think the pdp chairmanship going to the SS is a ploy to give The SW the VP slot [the Fayose connection], reason I said the SE will be played again. An APC northern candidate with a running mate gain from the SW will edge it against a PDP northern candidate with a running mate from the SE. Think about it.

That was the same political miscalculation that resulted in PDP losing the last election. You are mistaken sir! If Buhari contests, PDP will need the SW.

This is exactly the point.

The fall guy in all of this will remain the SE.

SS and SE will always vote in favour of PDP. It only makes sense to appeal to the sensibilities of the SW by voting in a SW chairman. SW will never vote largely in favour of PDP but if it can get a fraction of the numbers from the SW then PDP will stand a greater chance of unseating PMB.

Wike and his supporters are hurting the chance of a SE VP and presidency in the future.
