codedguy1:And i ask, must we win the league this season? Honestly if we win it Good, if not, I don't see it as a failure. If at the end of last season, someone told me that we will be sitting comfortably in 2nd and are favourite to reach UCL quarters, honestly I will be very very content with it. I don't know for others sha |

elampiro:In 4 meetings over 2 seasons he beat them twice and drew Twice, LVG. Mou beat City in Carling cup where they fielded their reserves. Mou was 8 points or more behind Pep in his first season at Real and won the league by 9 points his next season 100 to 91 (largely because Barca lost the last game of that season). If you call that closing the gap it is simply because he was given time. Pelle finished on 96 points his first and only season at Real to Barca's 99 yet nobody praised him for closing the gap even when the next manager, Mou escorted Pep to the league and UCL. You say City were previous champs but that was only 1 season after Fergie retired. They finished 2nd and then 4th (equal points with LVG) just before Pep. LVG even won the FA Cup which is a bigger trophy than the Carling cup. You are just excusing Mou and blaming the players - especially Lukaku- Unfairly. |

When people like Van gaal who spent almost 300m and sold most of our good players for peanuts, yet can't win matches convincingly and can't go far in any European completion, not minding scrapping top 4 or finishing out of if completely , can talk that means my club is in deep shit |

codedguy1:its not about mincing words,d "change" is that mou needs to go and we wud automatically start playing attacking football and all or players would improve |

Eruditor:Did LVG ever finished above Manchester City? No The fact is that City won the league more recently and have been very strong contenders. In 2015/2016 when they looked weak, they had injuries to their most important players- Silva, Kompany, Zabeleta. Even De Bruyne and Aguero were not left out. Sometimes the team that has less injuries flourish. Leicester were able to win the league because their key players stayed fit. Same with City team of 2011/12. Currently the City team has stayed injury free unlike Manchester United. On Mourinho at Madrid, whether you like it or not, Mourinho closed the gap. Ferguson played that Barca team four times, all were defensive, even the 2008 semi final legs. But is it to defend Lukaku you people hate on Mourinho? It is a shame. This is corruption. |

elampiro:LVG that we can't even guarantee top4 during his time. He bought. Di Maria - 59.6m. Rojo _16m Herrera - 30m Luke Shaw- 30m Blind- 14m. schneiderlein - 26m. schweisteiger - 14m. depay- 25m. And all the money he spend on falcao; but still he is playing rubbish and can't win a decent match. I was very happy when that man left |

elampiro:Who bought Lukaku? Who refused to sign a RW that can stretch play and open up spaces? Who refused to get a midfielder that can deputise or play alongside Pogba? |

Me I don talk my own . If Mou fails to win the premier league or the champions league(at least make d final)...We ditch him and look for a coach that knows when to defend and when to attack or rather still bring SAF back ![]() Ffs this is almost 5yrs since we won the league, we slowly turning to Arsenal. The money de but we can't do anything reasonable with it. City got pep before us, Got de bryne before us, Got Gab. Jesus before us . Before we can win d league again ,the board need to start getting it right. ![]() |

eph12:It's not easy to sign players like that. Mourinho signed Pogba, Matic, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku and Ibrahimovic. He gave a list of more players to the club, but these players are it available. Mourinho is the the first manager trying to genuinely fix our midfield since 2006. SAF kept saying, players like Scholes and Giggs don't fall from the tree. |

Onto Moving Forward. Can Our Boys bounce back from that Derby stinker? Considering some player's confidence might be low, especially Lukaku. (He might wanna try and force things in a bid to make things right) Another Home Game against Bournemouth, what's your expectation fam? |

elrony:lol cos honestly I don't see who the replacement would b..is it poch?? that one that his team are known as chokers, yes he's an attacking coach but would he cope with the pressure at united? they said y mou was succeeding was becos he was mostly d underdog,I guess same can b said about poch,if he comes to united he won't b d underdog again,so who exactly are d fans expecting to replace mou to do magic on our team.. d main problem is that sir Alex is always brought up,but d fact is his time has passed,I even think sir Alex won't dominate this current epl with this set of players considering d quality other sides possess,so what's d fuss all about. |

dubylhover:I think the crux here is the bad footie we play against top sides. Some fans may be okay with it on away games nonetheless, but not at Home FFS after spending better mula ![]() If Mou continues like this, hope no go dey o ! (and I wouldn't mind chasing him outta Manchester United with broom and cutlass). On Pochettino, I think he's a good manager sha, but if he'll succeed at United?....The spirit hasn't revealed! ![]() Buh at least he doesn't play coward footie at home! !! |

elrony:yes mourinho has to take a chunk of d blame for the kind of footie he's playing against d big teams.. but do you remember when lvg first came,he was very attack minded and played an open game, but along d line d balance wasn't struck,nd he complained about having to always b on edge with our kind of open play, that we didn't have control in certain periods, then we lost 5 3 to Leicester, that was d game that ultimately ruined him cos that was when he started his sideways philosophy, now mourinho of last season was also quite attacking last season even against arsenal at old Trafford we battered them, but d results wasn't coming.. now if you want to b honest and analyse both scenerios both coaches didn't plan on giving us drab footie, they started by attacking but it was obvious that along d line the players we have don't really have that experience and quality to control games and make good decisions,a point elampiro always emphasizes about..we lacking leaders.. so lvg used his sideways passes to limit thr deficiencies of the players while mou has become more cautious in his approach.. we need no buys like pogba, quality buys not all thx rubbish we see invtransfer market |

dubylhover:Chaiiiiiiiii not LVG again!!!! Just one Loss and he served us shiit for a full season. Abeg I no wan vex!! I commend him for most of his big games tho, the rest is something I don't want to remember. Well Mourinho didn't plan on playing drab footie, buh I think that's his default mode against equal opposition tbh. Why is it almost everytime we get served that Tilapia bones when we play top sides? My own is he should be doing better, you don't spend all that money to play second fiddle, agreed we need more quality depth too, buh with Mourinho hmmm...(commentus reservedus ) To be honest I was happy when we got Mou, anything to chase that philosophy professor outta United was welcomed by me. ![]() |
