buhahahahahaha more urban areas my as$

a lot of places people call Lagos are actually Ogun state.

agbara, iju and Abeokuta express way are all Ogun state. not to mention sagamu, Abeokuta itself.
then if I start mentioning the areas of Ogun state between berger and redeemed camp which is already urban.

the only urban areas in delta are asaba, warri, ughelli and sapele

your abraka is not any better than ijebu ode.
Abraka is just a town like ijebu ode not a city. apart from delsu there is nothing serious there.

you can only fool those that haven't been to delta state before
Bros, why are you talking like this naaaa, the guy was right.
Tribe shouldnt blind us to the truth especially that guy up there saying Abakiliki is second largest rice producer in Nigeria(lies from hell).
Asaba is more urban than Agbara and Iju (did you mention Iju? Guy, stop this joke naaa, haba. You for mention OTA sef)..
In fact, warri alone is more urban than the whole Ogun put together but you can say Ogun is more industrialized even twice more than Delta.

Good propaganda.
APC has given its leaders the task of spreading lies in the form of future IMPOSSIBLE tense like their campaign promises.
Ask yourself, does the article say that the rice is already being sold? If yes, at what price compared to 2015 price?
11th commandment- thou shall not allow thyself to be deceived by desperate politicians.

The deception succeeded in 2015 and we are all worse for it.
We must not allow ourselves to be deceived again in 2019.

Do the incentives for investors include a focus on education for all children in the state with emphasis on technical and vocational schools as well as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects?

Is that why Amosun has borrowed so much money despite increased IGR, increased allocation from Abuja, bail out funds from barawo bubu and Paris Club refunds?
Do you agree that Amosun is a very foolish fraudster and conman

globemoney:
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in its report on Nigerian Domestic and Foreign Debt – June 2017 data yesterday, said Nigeria’s foreign debt stood at $15.05 billion, while the domestic debt portfolio was put at N14.06 trillion in June this year.

This represents a growth of $3.64 billion and N0.04 trillion respectively within a six-month period.
The NBS showed that $9.67 billion of the debt was multilateral; $218.25 million, bilateral, while $5.15 billion was from the Exim Bank of China, credited to the Federal Government.
Federal Government debt accounted for 74 percent of Nigeria’s total foreign debt while all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accounted for the remaining 26 percent.
Total Federal Government’s debt accounted for 78.66 percent of Nigeria’s total domestic debt, while all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accounted for the 21.34 percent balance.
A breakdown of the Federal Government domestic debt stock by instruments reflected that N7.5 trillion or 68.41 percent of the debt was in Federal Government Bonds. About N3.3 trillion or 29.64 percent are in treasury bills, while N215.99 million or 1.95 percent are in treasury bonds.
Lagos State has the highest foreign debt profile among the 36 states and the FCT, accounting for 37 percent; Kaduna, 6 percent; Edo, 5 percent; Cross River, 4 percent; and Ogun, 3 percent, followed closely.
Lagos State had the highest domestic debt profile among the thirty-six states and the FCT, accounting for 10.39 percent; Delta, 8.04 percent; Akwa Ibom, 5.18 percent; FCT, 5.09 percent; and Osun, 4.90 percent, followed in that order.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who led some members of the state Executive Council on inspection tour of the production factory at Sawonjo, Iju Local Council Development Area in Ogun West Senatorial district of the state yesterday, expressed satisfaction at the volume of production on ground.

He disclosed that two other production factories will be sited in Asero, Abeokuta, in Ogun Central Senatorial District and Ijebu North East in Ogun East Senatorial district.

Urging residents of Sawonjo area to cooperate with the production team, Amosun assured of the good quality of the rice and that it will be affordable and available in large quantity.

I'm sure some ugwu sellers will not be happy with this news. South West has gone beyond chest beating. we lead and others follow, though they will not give in because of pride and jealous.
What is the meaning of your comment? Nigerians have been eating rice before now. Personally I can't buy local rice because of sand. Nobody is jealousy you. Ogun can't produce foodstuffs more than Edo Delta and most of northern states. Abakaliki have been in rice production for ages. In fact is a culture. Recently Anambra flooded Nigeria with rice. Is a collective exercise to end food scarcity in the country. The rice in Ogun cannot feed Ogun people.

In terms in industry ogun is better than Delta, but Delta has more Urban Areas than Ogun.

So it depends on the factor you are using to compare.

You don't have a good knowledge of Ogun State. Infrastructural development is spread across the different LGAs of the state, same with other Southwest states unlike states in other regions where development is concentrated in a single LGA usually the state capital.

Those that produce rice will show you the rice growing in the field, being planted, being harvested.
Showing you a stack of bagged rice is no proof. Go to Youtube and watch areas in Nigeria that produce rice;
with the paddy fields and all the activities of farming.

The whole story of Ofada rice is a big lie, no actual commercial rice farm exists in Ofada.

You better shut your mouth and keep your bad belle to yourself.

The word Ofada itself is actually the name of a rice growing community in Ogun state. Ofada rice has been with us for more than four decades.

What we are having today is expansion of rice production from Ofada to other communities. Ogun State today is the biggest in Agriculture in Southern Nigeria.

The rice pyramid might not be a hype, but Ogun state government is not doing enough in agriculture. They must have mop up the harvest from individual farmers who toiled to plant those rice without government support.
The multi-million veetee Ofada Rice plant at Itori is rotten away under Amosun nostril. No technology to support far.

In the SW, farmers go it alone without government support. You have to pay for your own land and source for your own finances all alone.

State government tends to focus more on road constructions to open up the farms to the markets due to limited resources.

[s]My guy, I did not want to comment seeing a lot of online hypes.
Note: Not just rice but all imported products in the SE are from the SW. The rice from SW to the SE are all foreign rice and hardly OFADA rice; the imports are from Lagos wharf, Badagary/Owode Apa and Ogun state (Idiroko, tube, owode and Ilara).
Even in Ogun state, 95% of rice consumed or at the markets are border smuggled rice or "rebagged".
We all here know this hype is just like the Obiano hype abd if you argue this and have not bought a bag or even half a bag of ofada since January, then you could be evasive.
I am not from Ogun but the state has a huge potential as per over flow from Lagos but truly Amosun isnt taking full advantage of this.

Ogun state is attracting new farms and industries due to road access to the market. After Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states have the largest networks of roads. The roads are not perfect though, but with the ongoing massive construction of new roads and bridges and maintenance of old ones in Ogun state, we should see further economic growth.

The problem with Ogun state right now is so many massive road projects across the state with little resources to address them. Added to this headache are a lot of communities whose roads are in a terrible state of disrepair calling for the government's attention.

With patience and continued election of development oriented and effective resource management governors like Governor Amosun, the roads and other infrastructures will be completed as works are presently ongoing on the road projects and other infrastructures.

Ogun to sell branded rice in December, says commissioner
Published September 23, 2017

Samuel Awoyinfa, Abeokuta

The Ogun State Government says it has concluded plans to release locally-produced and branded rice, Mitros, by December 2017.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs Adepeju Adebajo, disclosed this on Friday during a routine inspection of the first phase of rice harvested in one of its farms at Eggua, in Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.

She said this was part of measures at ensuring food security.

Adebajo said the state has begun harvesting 30 hectares out of the 100 hectares of rice plantation and would be ready for distribution latest December 2017 after all due processes had been followed.

She said, “In fulfilling one of our objectives, we are set to produce MITROS rice. This rice is the best quality you can ask for because we provided the farmers with most improved variety of seedlings and it will be ready before the end of the year.

“This will be the first phase of harvest, we will harvest others too. We will go through all necessary steps to ensure quality product, then we will package and brand it MITROS rice. Both our local Ofada and Nerica 8 will be available for consumers.”

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Mr. Tosin Ademuyiwa, advised the younger ones to take advantage of the opportunity, adding that the next phase would be more mechanised as more farm machineries had been approved for purchase.

A farmer, Olugbenga Popoola, acknowledged the state government’s support in the areas of land clearing, provision of seedlings, fertilizers and others. He promised that they (farmers) are willing to do more in the next planting season.
