The Flamingos drew 0-0 with Ethiopia in Benin City yesterday and qualified courtesy of their 1-1 away draw.

Meanwhile their next round opponent, Cameroon, beat Algeria 11-0 on aggregate (4-0 in Algeria, 7-0 in Cameroon) to book a meeting with Nigeria.

This got me thinking. Is it that the Ethiopians produced a very strong side or Nigeria has raised a very poor U17 team? Cos I didn't watch the game.

Secondly why have we always produced poor U17 teams at female levels. The falconets have always achieved far more than the Flamingos with 4 semi finals and two finals. While our best for the Flamingos is the quarter final.

Something is definitely not right.

We are going into that Cameroon encounter with the later as favorites.

We have never failed to qualify for any Female U17 or U20 WC. I hope this will not be the first.

to be honest...wit you.
that nff Secretary and his parlies have not impress me for once....
so slow and lackadaisical in planning...
they seems not to be working on the same page wit the presidents.....imagine him sayin he was aware of shehu's suspension and stil refuse to alert the teams coaches....even the yusuf and co....who were supposed to be taking records still was ignorant.....

and coming back to the friendlies...I have begin to see their poor planning and lackadiscal attitude in display....one just hope this does not affect the coach plans...
every other countries plans for their age grade teams, female football teams, including the male football team successfully but here in Nigeria the nff just have to plan for the super eagles and the super eagles alone as they beleive the rest football teams does not deserve to be look into...except when they've got Nations or world cup qualifiers in their categories and yet they still fail in lag behind in planninh for the super eagles...

up till now....the friendlies have still not been confirmed...and announced....
this nff is a problem....
haba..at least they are not fighting each other and forgetting to pay anybody.

The friendlies will be confirmed, they have confirmed one already.

Just remember we have never had a perfect NFF, each tackle what they deem important and ignore others

I agree with the bolded...I have begin to loose patience wit them...
living here in Abuja have really influenced my perception of civil servants...they rarely takes their job serious....can hardly be seen in the office...

I believe the reason why other national football teams like the cadet an female football team suffer neglect is not really because of funding per se but reason of no one has ever drafted or suggest any programs for these teams...no plan at all to contain them...

because I see nothing there in camping any of the aforementioned teams here in Nigeria and play friendlies wit any club sides If that is what they can afford at least it would afford the coaches to begin assess and know their players well....

so bad....I really think..I will have to make this draft and send it to the NFF office here in wuse....so bad I have lost Dr Sanusi Mohammed phone number...he once came over to my office some time ago...of which I had to attend to him..just forget to save his number that day....

but will still do something regarding this plans...it is so annoying until now they have been no road map for the under 17, 20 teams...etc while other countries are planning cadet teams friendlies we can't even arrange a mere friendly for the super eagles...

Dear...I want enough friendlies for rohr to be able to assess all this players by match..so as to rap up his team selection plans prior the June friendlies...it will be perfect if him and his technical team come to know like 95% of the players heading to Russia prior the June friendlies so as to enable him prepare his tactics and strategies prior those later friendlies....in June.

what do you expect when they're no proper plans and management for the team...
let me say this...what have been paving way for us...is just TALENTS...because when it comes to planning we have been behind...

do you know that countries like south Africa even Lesotho organise friendlies for the cadet teams (male & female) everytime especaliy during fifa friendlies Windows...?
here in Nigeria we believe the fire brigade approach whenever there is a qualifer match to be played...

what I still don't get...is it that CAF/FIFA don't send in grants for this friendlies...
or the tournaments they have been winning and participating in all this while the CAFand FIFA tourneys....they don't get monetary prize and rewards..?
if they do...then where is cash?

I know for sure...the winner of FIFA world cup part ways with close to 30M dollars meaning the under 17 will be like 5-10M dollars......likewise in the CAF level.
so where are all this money?

Sir AIG07 it's been ages. You and do4luv14 came to my mind yesterday and I am pleased that you are back.

Goodjoe accept my condolences on the demise of your Dad. You are the man now.

Meanwhile I have to agree with you now:Gaurdiola is tactical genius. Let me exaggerate some bit:he is the Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Einstein of football rolled into one.

I don't really like him but I love his brain.

Mangala sat on the bench long. Last season, he was sent on loan. It is the injuries of Stones and Kompany that gave him the chance. What I am saying that it takes hardwork and patience to get it right. If Iheanacho could track back as fast as Gabriel Jesus or even faster, Guardiola would play him.

I would have preferred Nacho bracing for the challenge. If Mangala leaves City now, he leaves a far better player because he increased his attributes.

Nacho has to keep working hard and he can still become great. I just would have preferred him training and learning under Guardiola's system.
Yes Nacho needs to keep on working hard and definitely with time he would bounced back as a better player.

thegoodjoe sorry on the demise of your great Dad.

Very sorry for your loss. I am dealing with the same heartache. I lost my dad over a month now. During the end of October and it has been hectic. I pray God gives you and your family the strength to bear this painful loss.

My heart felt condolences, but be thankful that you had the love of a good Father that completes you and has made you what you are today.

You are the living legacy of your Father. So I say RIP to your Father. As you become the Revealed Incredible Personality birthed by a good Father.

I don't know you but from your words I see a good Fathers input. Principles of life, the inheritance of righteous man is not material but in the integrity of character.

So stand firm, stay blessed walk right as you remember the good times, celebrate with sober reflection the loss of a good Father.

My sympathy .

thanks!

On pep, I only admire the way he passes information across to his players from the sideline-nothing more. That man speaks football. Often times I wonder what he is saying sef. na only his boys understand am. Those hand gestures are hard to decipher.

On Nacho, that boy has talent but I think he is a slow learner and that has been his undoing. He finds it hard to adopt and adapt to new system as quick as possible. He tried so hard to learn pep's philosophy but while doing so he was unlearning some football basics.

He either needs to move to a club that plays to his strength or better still be patient where he is and master their own way of doing things. I believe he'll surely come good.

l think playing Frances is a bad idea, there are so many European teams above us in the fifa ranking we know we can easily beat to improve our ranking ahead of the World cup draws. Right now we should avoid the top ten teams in the world in order to build the confidence of the falcons seeing that they have been inactive for a year.

Good Day house.... Please why is nobody saying anything about BROWN IDEYE? Is he that bad? Dude has been playing his heart out for the eagles anytime he's been invited. He helped us won the 2013 nations cup. He was omitted in the conferedration and world Cup and we saw what he could had provided.

Back to this world Cup qualifiers he was called upon in the game against the Zambians in Luanda and he did very well as always and it was his assist that provided the goal for KC. So my question is.... Why Is nobody saying anything about him?

Anderson Esiti also played well in that same game and was neglected afterwards.

Maybe NFF needs to strengthen her scouting system.
The focus must not always be Lagos and other few popular cities.

I am afraid these ladies may find the battle so tough against the free scoring opponents (Cameron).

We also have to be sincere in our way of doing things. We must always pick the best at all times. The recent case of Omidiji comes to mind.

Oh Brown Ideye very unlucky player when it comes to super eagles players rating.Watching this guy at 2013 afcon WC reminds me of early days of great partnership of Yekini/Siasia cos he had a great understanding with Emma Emenike.

I was damn surprised Keshi left him out of WC team for players like Nwofor,Uchebo, though a lot always criticising him for lack of goals for Eagles forgetting his total contribution to the team.

Truly he had a good game against Zambia but surprisedly left out of the subsequent called ups.Rohr can only explain this cos Ahmed Musa wasn't better when it comes to performance this season but always getting the call.

Brown was among all star players captained by Kanu Nwankwo that played Kano pillars last week in a charity match but his club status presently i cannot say much cos the last time i heard of him was in China playing for Tiajin Jeda.

Better in form players?i don't think so,remember it took a grace for Ighalo to be recalled back to the team against Cameroon or are you saying Nwakaeme is better than Ideye,Ideye in Isreali league would have turned the goal chart into pieces and remember Aaron Samuel that did nothing this season got a called up against Cameroon.Sometimes only coach can explain this cos he is in charge.
