Wrong. It implies sexism, lack of opportunity/education, chauvinism and backwards mentality of society at large (by men and women), who would pull down any girl who dreams of being in the profession.

Here are some comments that I imagine girls and women are told:
"You want to what? please, nobody wants to marry a girl who can't..."
"You know you're not smart in math, so don't even try"
"I can't marry a woman who travels a lot... who will cook my food"
"It's too expensive to train you in this field"
"Ah... female pilot? The plane will crash! Don't even"
"Eh fine girl... why do you want to study so hard? Just be beautiful and your prince will come"

So before castigating women for not "daring", ask what message their society is telling them. I'm yet to hear of one story of a woman who achieved a major professional goal without overcoming a lot of negativity (up to and including... "she must have slept with someone to get that post". For men, on the other hand, nobody questions their abilities or dreams (based on gender).

Gender equality is about giving both genders the same opportunities, training, encouragement. It's even about making the same comments (nobody insinuates that an all-male crew will smell like stinky socks or unwashed balls, or that the flight will somehow be in jeopardy because of competition or hormones)

One of the best airlines in Africa. Very hospitable airline.
