This saga is just a big lesson to other banks to be verry verry carefull before granting loans to fraudsters parading themselves as businessmen.

# No bank in this country should offer credit facilities to inoson again.

Have you worked in a bank ?

Have you ever taken a loan from a bank ?

If No to both questions, you don't deserve to speak on this matter.

In as much as everybody is on the side of Innosson, I want everyone to consider some things here!

1. GTB was and has been a financial institution even before we heard of Innosson

2. GTB does not control EFCC

3. What will GTB stand to gain by telling lies of such amount of money, which obviously belong to people who bank with them?

4. Is it possible that GTB will make more money from this case than it will from more customers it may loose

Let's think about issues before taking sides....

I'm on no one's side though!!!

Let's wait for the facts in court!!!

What more invitation be given to him after he had jumped an Administrative bail?. An Administrative bail is more or less a form of official invitation with its terms clearly spelt out. The moment he jumped it, he set himself up to an arrest.

Of what value is Innoson motors to the nigerian economy?

His failing business is an economic drop in the ocean and is most likely a cover for some crime.

I've never in my life ever seen an IVM vehicle, nor even an ad for one besides a few screenshots here and there.

I can bet even you have not seen any of his cars, nor know anyone who has one. Igboes buy Benz and Camrys and NOT IVM. So why don't you chest-beating zealots patronize him?

Because his cars are prefab chinese crap that no one in their right minds would buy one.

None of your chiefs, governors, legislators, businessmen or celebrities ever drive an IVM.

So what's the exaggerated rage about?

The man is absolutely a crook and will be very soon in jail, where he belongs, like all the millions of igboe crooks roaming the street terrorizing hapless nigerians.

You will see IVM in Abidjan, even in Abuja I've seen IVM vehicles

And in Anambra state, ALL the school buses across the state, or let me say 90% is IVM

So because you have not seen does not mean people are buying.

bad belle and hate will not so this country and good

The case of whether the case should be heard or not by the appeal Court on the insistence of the the office of the attorney General is before the Supreme Court.
The appeal court Judge asked that he be given more time to study the case before deciding whether to uphold innoson's plea for outright dismissal after the police withdrew from the case because they found it was a case of witch hunting against innoson.
Innoson presented the case to the appeal court. Where does EFCC come in this case?

Your ignorance and lack of skill are the reasons you are unemployed. Nigeria hasn't got the capacity and comparative advantage to manufacture everything, no nation foes by the way. If a ban is placed on importation of antibiotics like Augmentin or antimalarials like Artemisinin combination therapies and we are asked to manufacture locally, how many Nigerians can afford them?

Instead of you to call on your government to put infrastructures in place that would encourage local manufacturing, you want to pick a fight with importers. If I stop the importation of essential medications to which I hold sole distributorship rights, do you know how many people whose lives would be put in jeopardy?

Any EFCC officials that cross that bridge should be made to disappear into thin air.

I hoped that you would ask why Mr. Chukwuma allegedly refused and resisted EFCC invitation and subsequent arrest attempt?

The other cases or names you mentioned are isolated from this matter and should not have been raised except of course you are agreeing to Mr. Chukwuma's culpabability, hence your effort at justification.

For all we know, GTBank is a bigger organization than IVMC and by default have more to loose than the latter in terms of reputation. Could they have made up such story against a customer of their's?

We can actually learn to be unbiased and objective by asking pertinent questions over issues such as this one.

There is a criminal case against inoson which he got a stay of proceedings for in the high court. Thus, the initial withdrawal of the prosecutor. The federal appeal court dismissed the stay, while the legal proceedings continued. Then inoson went to supreme court to stop the investigation, but yet to receive any positive response.

Nonetheless, the police continued with their investigation as allowed by appeal court , but mr inoson refused to cooperate. Hence, the commado style arrest.

Why arrest someone without evidence that he committed a crime? If you have evidence he did,why release him on bail rather than bring him before the courts for trial within 24 hours of his arrest? Is the EFCC now our arrest and bail Police Force? This is intimidation and distraction of the nation from the real issues plaguing it. EFCC is crap.

BeijinDossier:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released the statement below announcing the release of Innocent Chukwuma, the chief executive officer of Innoson Motors.

The businessman was released on bail, the EFCC said.

READ FULL STATEMENT BY THE EFCC BELOW

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released Nnewi, Anambra-State born Industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma on bail.

The business man who runs a local auto assembly plant was arrested on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at his Enugu residence, following his refusal to respond to invitations by the Commission, after initially being granted administrative bail by the Commission, while his surety could also not be found.

Unfortunately the industrialist resisted arrest and stirred controversy by bringing six truck-loads of thugs to block the entrance to his Plot W1, Industrial Layout, Abakaliki Road, Emeni, Enugu, home.

This was after he initially misled the Police Command by informing them that his home had been invaded by armed robbers and kidnappers despite the fact that operatives of the Commission duly identified themselves to policemen guarding his home.

His unruly thugs encircled and manhandled operatives of the Commission who had gone to effect the arrest.

Consequently, a distress call was sent to the Commission’s Enugu Office for reinforcement.

In all of this, the Commission’s operatives acted with decorum and civility. No one was manhandled or assaulted by the EFCC team, and not a single shot was fired, despite the provocation.

Chief Chukwuma and his brother, Charles Chukwuma (who is still at large), are being investigated by the Insurance and Capital Market Fraud Section of the Commission’s office in Lagos over matters bordering on N1, 478, 366, 859.66 fraud and forgery.

The industrialist, among other infractions, allegedly used forged documents to secure tax waivers.

This is barely comprehensible.
The way and manner EFCC muddled up issues here is indicative of an attempt to hoodwink the readers.
Is the alleged "deployment of tugs" part of the reason for arresting Innoson?

Nigerians demand a more wholistic and clearer reason for the arrest and not merely this terse statement.
The investigation into Insurance and Capital Market Fraud is not good enough reason to arrest him, the EFCC should have invited him and if they did, we need to sight copy of the invite.

Our law enforcement bodies must not only be fair but must be seen to be fair.

The governments policy aimed at encouraging local & foreign investments should not be jeopardized by the over-zealousness of agencies like the EFCC.

Innoson is the one handling this issue poorly.
He's the one playing the tribal card instead of providing details of how the repayment of the loan he took from the bank was made. His inability to do that is a pointer that he hasn't payback his debt?

GTB also leveled a deadly allegation against him, that he forged the signature of its staffs to secure some of his goods at the port.Believe me, no bank will be willing to be partner in business with him because of this.

How did he play a tribal card??,did you hear him say anything about his tribe in all this??,its other people playing the tribal card, mind you the same case against him was struck out by a competent court for lack of merit and he refiled for total dismisal. We should always endeavour to get our facts right.

Quit the whining, please. Sadly, you sounded as these guys who claim they own 85% of Lagos. There is no tribal hatred or jealousy as you claimed. I'm really trying to figure out those parts.
Why would anyone be jealous of Innoson's achievement/dilemma?
You wonder why a 1.5 litre engine vehicle supposedly 'manufactured' by Innoson cost about 4 million Naira and you'd hear stories such as 'the vehicle parts are imported into the country and he must make his own profit as well.'
I have no issue with the narrative above but the fact remains what it is.
That I am stunned is greatly exaggerated because we all know you have long been restricted to tribalistic and anti-APC banters, even when it's needless.
