ACS and their cutting out our experience.

Mine was employment after January 2014 is considered to equate to work at a skill level. I entered the pool in Oct 2016 and by January 2017 skill select added 5 points for me. So yes by 1st January 2018 you will get an update from skill select about an increase in your points if you enter the pool now.

Thanks for the explanation.

Good day to my good people.

I would appreciate if someone can interpret this in very simple words as my Job description as ICT SUPPORT ENGINEER doesn't seem to qualify for 189 or 190 visa right?

Does it mean only one state Tasmania nominates this role?

Please advise me further...Thanks !

Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by aussy4life: 7:04am On Dec 22, 2017
Yes only Tasmania can nominate you and for the yellow colour you need to get high point 85 overall to be able to get nominated because it's already on supplementary list

Hello All,
I am a secondary school Mathematics Teacher with 7 years experience. I have B.sc (Mathematics), PGDE and M.sc (Mathematics). If I apply as a secondary school teacher (241411), I do not have a document required for assessment by AITSL(Official letter of completion of supervised teaching practice from the University)

To all my Ogas, With my working experience as a mathematics teacher, is it ok if I apply as a MATHEMATICIAN(224112)?
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bolanle053: 3:47pm On Dec 22, 2017
@Aussie4life, I think buddie cannot nominate TAS 489 at this time, because, 263212 has been temporarily removed from the state occupation list, except he has a job offer, then he can go for TAS 190. His other option as you have said is 85 point for SA or if he can look at other related occupation that doesn't have strict condition. https://www.migration.tas.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/147267/TSOL_FY_17-18_-_18_September_2017.pdf

@Bolanle @aussy4life and all.. God bless you guys for that clarification.

Would try re-align my job description to better suit some other closely related occupation then. Maybe roles as Systems Analyst, Computer network and Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator.

I'm 26 years. Do I qualify and where exactly do I start from, please?

Thanks

The answer is yes.
However, go through the thread and read up about the entire process. You will find people with experience and degree similar to yours.
Start from there.

Compliments of the season.

This is really tricky and I feel like the only way around it is if the organization you work for are willing to write you a reference letter stating your JD as a mathematician rather than a maths teacher.
I don't know what else can be done but hopefully other ppl can help.
Good luck

pele...you know what to do.practise more.you know your weaknesses when you pronounce words don't you?your writing and listening are quite good because you did not have to speak...tot u used the software for practise?in my case I used none of that.just give yourself more practise and watch e2 language videos on YouTube.
there's what is called the 44 sounds of English language.if you are good in pronouncing those you will be fine because the exams are programmed with native speakers English.
good luck!

Good day everyone.
Please who has paid for EA assessment with GT MasterCard before?
Is it like the normal payments or you have to use a special card for the payment?
Also, is it the exact naira equivalent of that amount of Australian dollars that will be deducted?

It is the normal GT MasterCard you have,If what you are paying for is not more than 1000 USD. Are you assessing your work experience? If you're going to assess work experience, that means it will be more than 1000 USD.You will need dollars MasterCard. They deducted #282.5 for 1 AUD.

stepo707:

How was your result?

Hi Stepo07,

My result was okay. Before the test I was worried I hadn't done any mock tests and wasn't sure what to expect. The most difficult parts for me which came as a shock / rude awakening were the re-tell lecture and describe image areas of the test. I employed Jay's (E2 Language) method of Title + x-axis (for Describe image) however some mixed charts caused me to just talk (fluency) whilst not properly interpreting the right data on the chart. As a result of just wanting to apply proven methods my vocabulary was poor, got lowest marks there. The others were pretty okay (Read Aloud, Fill in the blanks, etc). Essay was standard.

This was on the 19th of December. Left the center feeling down due to the few mistakes in my speaking. Hesitated once and the mic got cut off after 3 seconds. On another occasion I used up the time and was also cut off.

As I read earlier here I expected my results in two to three days but was shocked to see an email telling me my score report was ready less than 24 hours after my test. Long tori short see my result below:

Listening - 84
Reading - 90
Speaking- 79
Writing - 90

Seeing the result above, I now realize how lucky I was to have escaped with a 79 in speaking and run away with "Superior English".
I quickly logged in to SkillSelect, withdrew my Visa 190 application, and then updated my 189 points which stood at 60. At the end of the update, the new score changed to show 70 points.

Came back here on the forum to find out that I just missed out on an invitation round and that the next will be on the 3rd of January. I can't wait.

Breaking down the process so far:

Age: 33 - 45.
Work Experience: 8 years +
ACS - Positive Assessment in October (Acknowledged 6 years, swallowed 2)
IELTS: LRSW - 8.0, 8.5, 7.5, 7.5 (should have remarked but didn't have a clue I could do so with these scores)
PTE: December 19th, Got superior English
Total points - 70.

My advice like many here have given for the PTE is to keep practicing with Jay from E2 Language especially on the speaking part which a lot of folks have problems with ( I know I did). If you have the time to do practice or mock tests (which I didn't have due to a crazy work schedule) then by all means please do so. 79 on speaking was me pushing it. Could have gone terribly wrong.

All in all I thank God and am now waiting for the ITA. Also a big thanks to everyone here that has shared stories on the platform to help others. God bless all of una.
