UKmigrant:
There are loads of opportunities bro, Indians are taking them up everyday, Nigerians are dulling. Just go to http://jobseekers.direct.gov.uk

The main thing is that the Home Office has to be satisfied that the overstayer isn't getting into a sham marriage, and 99.9% of overstayers are. One way of convincing the Home Office is to get married and give birth to a child which will be british on account of the status of one of the parents. That will tilt the argument in favour of a legitimate marriage, but the overstayer will still have to go back home and apply for a spouse visa. A second way is to marry an EU citizen who is living and working in the UK. A third way is for the overstayer to hook up with a british citizen who agrees that they both relocate to Ireland for a couple of months, the overstayer can then apply for a residence permit via the Surinder singh loophole.

The above are all not guaranteed to work. If the overstayer is genuinely in a relationship with the british citizen, it's better they go back to Nigeria to apply for the spouse visa. If it gets rejected, they can appeal. It's all very time-consuming and expensive, it takes an extraordinary kind of love for a british citizen to go through all this for an overstayer.

I know of a Nigerian guy in London who got an EU residence permit on account of a previous marriage to a french lady, they both got separated. The Nigerian guy later met a young Nigerian lady who had overstayed her visa, they both started living together and had 2 kids together. They are still not married because the guy is still legally married to the french lady. I feel sorry for the Nigerian lady whenever I see her because she was completely taken advantage of.

Clarify me. Apart from marrying a British or EU citizen. Is that difficult getting UK citizenship and marrying a Nigerian lady.

A bit of advice for those immigrants with assets in the UK and looking to get married here.

Get a solicitor to design a watertight prenup agreement. Do not let 'love' becloud your judgement, be very realistic. A lot of marriages do break up, it's the sad reality of life. The UK family laws are skewed in favour of females, even if it sometimes does so at the detriment of males. I have heard of 2 distressing tales of immigrants who came to the UK, worked for 20 odd years to acquire property, and the court awarded everything to the estranged wife leaving the man with nothing. The 2 men involved are living in homeless shelters right now and on the brink of suicide.

This advice doesn't concern you if you married your wife when you had no assets, and you both worked to acquire them. However, if you worked and shed blood to acquire assets on your own in the UK, ensure you get the prenup signed before you marry. 'I love you, I love you', I understand that, but thou must sign this prenup before we proceed! grin

United states is the best country anyone can ever think of traveling to.

After USA, comes Australia, Canada, Japan and others.

UK is a waste of time...at the long run you will discover that you wasted your whole years living in UK.

If you doubt me, check how many relatives or neighbors or people you know that lived in UK that have good investment back home or doing exceedingly well, they are very few and rare but you can count thousands if not millions of Nigerians living in US and doing so well.

Nigerians avoid traveling to UK to live, that country is a wasted land only good for education and maybe holiday visit.

UK will become hell for migrants in few decades to come because their over bloated economy will crash further. Why Because UK has become irrelevant in the comity of nations when it comes to industrial, IT, etc service delivery. UK isn't producing anything highly sort after by the whole world....so soon they won't have what to export and no more colonialism to use to milk other nations and commonwealth will crash on their wicked head!

BREXIT will after them more in the coming years; UK economy will crash and good jobs will become rare and pay will drop while tax will increase.

UK, the most useless country that destroyed Africa angry

They'll continue to export the premier league
