Hopefully one day,a good coach will trust in Iheanacho the same way Mourinho trusted in Lingard and Conte trusted in Moses.

The best coach?

"Pellegrini is the best coach I've had, he brought me a lot."... Santi Cazorla.

If Kelechi was playing I don't think Musa will have it easy with some folks here.

However, it's only in Nigeria an U23 player and bench warmers are starters.

No wonder we don fail to qualify for AFCON 3 good times and we are still struggling to qualify next year.

3 Afcons?? Amuse me more.

He had talent but he was not groomed. Iheanacho had talent but he was not groomed. That was what Pellegrini did for them. The grooming of Sterling happened under Brendan Rogers.

ofcourse Sterling was playing for QPR's feeder team, that one is different, way way different. If he was not yet groomed do you think he would be playing for Valencia's first team? Valencia were top 6 sure bankers in that period so they wouldn't just play anybody for the fun of it. Isco developed in Valencia but you can argue that Pellegrini showed faith in him, but there is no way you can say that he groomed Isco, I knew you would bring this up

I am having a rethink, I think Omeruo is a better candidate for the slot except one of Felix Ukpobai, Dominic Iorfa and Jordan Torunarigha change their allegiance to play for us.

Joel Obi is the perfect choice but I still want to see Agu and Ogu play in oneone of those friendlies before I make my mind on them.

Rohr is obsessed with anything German. So, don't be surprise to see either Oshimen, Bazee or Anthony Ujah. grin

But as for me, Martins all the way.

All managers will have a bias for something Rohr being German can't but hel himself to see things from a German perspective.

A player that hasn't played a season of first team football is being considered furthermore has done nothing outstanding in recent times. Is being considered for the SE that is clear cut bias.

Working hard and improving is key. Not choice of club. Eto'o's Ego is something I hope our young players do not have. It went down hill for him after his fracas with Pep Guardiola.

Belgium can offer to drop Batshuayi. We are talking of a team that boasts of Lukaku who is one of the most expensive football property in the game and Dres Mertens who is one of the hottest forwards in the game. We do not have that luxury. The Belgian league is developed that they can harness quality players to fill different roles.

Nigeria is not like that. If we drop our players who are not regulars in their clubs for those who are regulars, we diminish the strength of the team. We have to use what we have, get the best from them through hardwork and sound tactics.

We have players littered allover. Selection of mediocre players ahead of those who performance regularly is day light robbery.

It is not a debate. Pellegrini groomed Isco into a superstar. You can say he had talent. Just like Iheanacho showed talent in the U17. However, the grooming happened under Pellegrini. As I said, this is not even a debate.

I too gbadu this your comment. Nigerians are so biased and lopsided in their analysis especially when it comes to SE. We have a very average squad. I was watching elclassico and asked myself how we ever felt that Croatia should be the underdogs when compared to Nigeria? Not saying wet can't beat them, of course anything can happen, but our pride and confidence towards the Croats is very baseless. We have an almost average squad. No gambler would put a debt on Nigeria. We have very few players in top leagues to be too boastful.

Average abi? Na im be say all africa na average na! If we at the beginning of the qualifiers were grouped in a group of death, with each team being former and current african champs in Africa and you still call our players average. Is it because we are Nigerians? Why is it that our things are never of value? No wonder white people came and gave our ancestors mirrors to cart away valuables and lay claims to our heritage. No wonder after over 50 years of independence, na oyinbo people still dey refine our oil. Like say we no go school.

Its amazing. All the integration, differentiation, calculus , trigonometry and algebra wey we learn for school, this is the end result? These things were there so as to help us think how problems are related and how we get to solve them. Shikena.

Back to football. We came through our group home and away without a single defeat with the same average players and not forgetting that we qualified with a game to spare. Has it not occured to us yet that we may not be average after all? We have seen star studded teams get trounced. Nothing beats team work. If team work got us this far, then to hell with the clamour for a star studded team. If we crash, we crash. Its even understandable if we had lost in the qualifiers like 2 times at least. But other than the loss to South Africa, we have faired quite well and commendably so. Ghana with all their top quality players playing week in week out could not qualify even to save their country.

Let us learn to appreciate one another. Appreciate the beauty in what we have. I take a bit of exception to that notion that we are average.or we have an average team. This team is going places but it can only go so far if we dont tear down what we built with our weird mindsets and mouths. The same mouth we use tos say exceptional is the same we use to say the opposite. Which one sef? This is a football thread yes but as much as we like to see it as such, it reflects also our state of mind. Our thinking pattern. Are we building or pulling down? Are we encouraging or tearing other people to pieces?

Lets just ask ourselves that. Pause and think......

It is not as easy as packing bags and leaving. It takes study of teams, teams meeting contractual agreements and teams that suit the player. However, the pendulum swings and things can change. It is too early to abandon ship at Leicester City for Iheanacho. His first task is to work and try to see if he can get himself into the squad before running.

Málaga
In mid-July 2011, after helping Valencia's B-team return to the third level by scoring 15 goals, Isco signed a five-year contract with Málaga CF after the club activated his buy-out clause of €6 million.

he was more concerned with play time, besides at that point it was Barca who wanted him but Guardiola pulled out because of Bojan and since he wanted game time he went to Malaga, Isco's story is one that I know very well and you just messed up by saying Pellegrini groomed him. People thought Pellegrini would tell him to reduce his ball hogging style of play but he did nothing, he just used his talents to better his system, last two seasons that particular stuff really really affected Isco's game time and he had to reinvent his game all over again

if Pellegrini was giving him instructions to stop ball hogging the point is that he didnt translate it to his play on the pitch which means he didn't learn it and which ultimately means Pellegrini did not teach him

Why? Because we are used to using mediocre terms like Experience and team harmony to justify selecting poor choices ahead of better ones?

That is what led Peter Rufai to our goal and let in flogging.

The best is the best. There are drills and routines to find out the best. Test them out with scrimmage games and select the best quality with limited weaknesses.

If Agu can not do the job, he should honorably resign.

How do you determine the best

Consistent top class performances in your club and league. There are exceptions but generally speaking best players are in the best leagues.

In addition I am favourable to a player who is playing week in week out than one that's dormant on the bench and or playing reserve team football.

Although Mbappe is 18 he is experienced playing at the highest levels if football and putting in outstanding performances. That is why he is in the French National team.

You can't be mouse in your and all of a sudden become a Lion when you get to the SE.

We can do it with hardwork and determination. Forget the Atlanta hype, that team was no where in quality to the Brazilians. Two players from the Brazilian team became the best two players in the World by 1998, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos. Rivaldo later became the best player in the World. Conceicao joined Real Madrid. I think Ze Carlos later joined Madrid. Amaral was respected in Italy. Bebeto was Bebeto. Juninho became one of the best players in the EPL. Dida became a regular for AC Milan. They were far more talented players. Same with Argentina with the likes of Claudio Lopez, Hernan Crespo, Zanetti and a host of other stars.

That did not stop us from beating them and winning the gold medal. Due to belief and hardwork. That is what has carried us for a long while. Our last Olympics preparation was shabby. Yet even after arriving late, we put four past Japan and later picked the Bronze medal.

Hardwork, determination and belief.

If Ronaldo was still on the pitch we for chop 7 goals.

Manchester City's under development of Kelechi Iheanacho. Ye! We are talking of a boy who became a key player of the Super Eagles in a short time working under Manchester City. Haaaaa. Manchester City is competitive. Finish. Even a talented and experienced Nolito could not keep up with Sane.

Manchester City is the best thing that has happened to Iheanacho so far.

That's it! Club football and National team Football are DIFFERENT.
This is what majority of folks here are finding hard to come to terms with.

Club football extends into that national team.

The entire basis for your selection to the national team is your exceptional quality performances in club football.

Club football and National team Football are intrinsically linked they complement each other. It's like taking a striker who has lost club form to the WC believing that he will suddenly find form. It will not happen.
