AS the strike action declared by workers in the employ
of Osun entered its second day on Thursday, lecturers
in the state-owned tertiary institutions, on
Thursday said arrangements have been
concluded to embark on indefinite industrial action
by January 15th, 2018 to register their grievances
against the payment of modulated salary by Governor
Rauf Aregbesola’s adminsitration.
The lecturers, under the auspices of Council of
Academic Staff Unions of Osun State Owned Tertiary
Institutions (CASUOSTI) maintained that a 21-day
ultimatum issued to the state government on November
7, 2017 had lapsed, stressing that and more than a
month after the expiration of the ultimatum, their
demands have not been acceded to.

Letting themselves get used

I understand 6.Something Billion paris club fund is a lot of money , but Industrial action won't force Aregbe to pay

What these people need is a lot of education, not cheap propaganda from PDP ( Yes, PDP) i have been to their meetings and i have heard the disgusting things they tell old and young and the seed of hate they planting around is germinating really fast

Aregbe should find a means to resolve this amicably , but being realistic 27 months arrears is very impossible to collect at once

As for idiots who have been insulting me for my comment I want to put it here to you instead of replying individually

I blame Jonathan and PDP for this problem, during election campaigns Aregbesola was insulted by GEJ, he called aregbe a rascal, Aregbesola replied by calling him a fool at a different campaign

Shortly after Osun's allocation was reduced From 4.2billion to 2.1Billion then to 1. 2Billion, under the pretense that global oil price has fallen , even then the allocation was not paid for 6 months, all these things happened shortly before the General elections

Fashola, Tinubu and other experienced politicians lamented the reduction but Almighty GEJ did not change the allocation hence the beginning of borrowing to pay salaries and to complete project

I was an election observer and I am conversant with Osun

Search the following words on Google for references

The heading says the aggrieved lecturers are being owed salary for 27 months, but the lecturers themselves call their grievance "modulated salary", op, they don't mean same thing.

Fluctuation and total blackout aren't same.

didinrin, you don't know modulated salary of 27 months is equal to a full salary of 13 and half months?

are you actually justifying the payment of modulated salary?

Nigeria is in deep shit as long as we have people who are ready to settle for less like you.

Do you need to insult yourself on a public forum or you just want to be noticed?

So 13 and half months is equal to 2yrs?

So for saying "modulated salary", I have justified it?

The way people understand English these days, I think dictionaries need to be urgently revised.

Anyway, you have been noticed, now crawl back out of my mention.

OK I would have replied you, but obviously you woke up hungry and angry , and yesterday's ogogoro probably hasn't cleared from your system,

FYI kogi state and a few other states with shitload of allocation owe more then 26 months of full salary and arrears

I'm not justifying the fact that aregbe is owing anybody, I'm saying with the little( actually it's half) allocation ( thanks to Jonathan) aregbe has done what most of your PDP tingods would not have dreamt of

And yes when the going was smooth Aregbesola paid 13 months salary in full and its always on time

See why catholic priest embarrassed Gov. Ortom in Benue

The Priest of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Wannune, in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue state, David Mzer, on Wednesday reportedly embarrassed the state governor, Samuel Ortom, over unpaid workers’ salaries.

The incident took place during the thanksgiving mass of ex-governor George Akume, who celebrated his 64th birthday.

Sun Newspaper reports that an eyewitness, who spoke under anonymity, said Fr. Mzer, a young priest, while delivering his sermon at the mass had urged Akume to give quality advice to Governor Ortom on statecraft, including the issues of salaries.

The witness added that: “After Holy Communion and before the end of mass, the Parish Priest requested Senator Akume to make his remarks. The Senator touched on a few issues including some explanations on the salary matter and requested that Governor Ortom be allowed to also make brief remarks.

oloshi....even if its a year salary, how's that justifiable that people are owed that much...

we know people like you na..APC e-goat.

And he continues insulting himself by quickly changing his argument from 13 and half being equal 2yr to justification of "even if it's a year"

Now, who is the actual oloshi?

Which of my comments justified it?

It is only an oloshi that will interprete 27 months of modulated salary as 2yrs.

You should be ashame of whichever school you attended if you attended one.

eleribu eniyan....When people like you will justify evil and what is not good with anything, then Nigeria is in deep serious poo for a long time....

na state workers send aregbe make im dey do borrow borrow abi?

people are suffering mightily, go to an average civil servant home, and you will see for yourself, this weeree person dey mention kogi...so because kogi governor does it,osun governor self must do am....

why don't you compare osun to those states where salary are paid promptly as at when due..

Ewu goat
Keep trying hard to interpret 13 and half months as 2yrs, all these attempts of grabbing one imaginary "justifying it" exist only in your imagination, you brought it and latch on it as a lame defence, no one else did.

Quote that verse to Jonathan and his friends for looting Nigeria

While you are at it, quote it for the crude oil that sells for $45/barrel when some people sold it for $120/barrel
