arinzeejikonye: Mr. man, ipp projects are happening all across the country, no one is arguing that; I earlier cited a 550MW going on in Ondo and another 2000MW in Oyo. However, when it comes to the general industry and the manufacturing sector, Ogun outperforms all other states including Lagos. Just earlier this month, the state governor commissioned (not groundbreaking o) 3 factories at once (Unilever, Honda, and Reckitt Benckiser). http://encomium.ng/amosun-commissions-3-mega-factories-in-ogun/ 10 Likes 1 Share |

AshiwajuFoward: Are they worth more than Bua cement okpella $ 600 million recently commissioned in edo state Now you admit that ipp is ongoing everywhere, you should have agreed it was all in ogun, right? Ogun out performance does it equate to 75% of fdi infow out of the 36 States of the federation?

Re: Ogun Attracts 75 Percent Foreign Direct Investment Into Nigeria – UK Envoy by AshiwajuFoward: 8:47pm On Dec 29, 2017 |
arinzeejikonye: Mr. Man, earlier this same month of December, Petrolex commissioned its $330-million dollar facility section of its mega oil city in the state (it will be spending a total of $5-billion dollars in that axis/on that project). That is in addition to the 3 commissioned factories. In other words, in just one month, the state commissioned probably nothing less than $500million worth of companies. That does not include the other factories and manufacturing concerns that have already been commissioned earlier throughout this same year. Just drop it, guy. 5 Likes |

AshiwajuFoward: Point of correction, The resink besink facility, is not into manufacturing, But just for redistribution of already manufactured goods Is the petrolex currently, bigger than the indorama's 1.5billion us dollars facility commissioned recently by osibanjo? |
Re: Ogun Attracts 75 Percent Foreign Direct Investment Into Nigeria – UK Envoy by AshiwajuFoward: 9:07pm On Dec 29, 2017 |
arinzeejikonye: What is 'resink besink'? Or you meant Benckiser? Dude, that recently commissioned Benckiser redistribution center you are trying to belittle is the LARGEST in the entire continent of Africa and cost millions of dollars to setup. Look, I don't know where this bad-belle of yours is coming from, but whatever your motive, it's dead-on-arrival. You and your ilk feel that you know better than the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria. Na una sabi. 3 Likes |

AshiwajuFoward: This isn't about bad belle, Ogbeni the question is on the tag of 75 inflow of fdi into ogun out of 36 States including Lagos, Typos are normal, Stop deviation, Should we also factor in distribution centers points and warehouses all over the 36 States? Man probably will have to give a better break down, since, you have shifted from the envoy |

Unilever, Honda, and Recover Benkiser). [/b] We are all humans, Non is infallible, The above is a vivid indication that you equally made a typo, So that's irrefutably irrelevant to the meat of the matter |

arinzeejikonye: Guy, I hate to break your heart but in the wider scheme of things, your opinion doesn't count for diddly squat. Perhaps you can communicate your reservations about both MAN and the envoy's assertions (since they both buttress each other) to the proper channels, that way they can perhaps publish retractions, coz this Nairaland crusader posture you've assumed over this matter is as watery as prison beans. You have so far failed to disprove MAN's breakdown or refute the British envoy with any convincing counter evidence. I wish you goodluck in your crusade though. 10 Likes 1 Share |

arinzeejikonye:
1. The topic is about investment, not manufacturing. 2. This company invested N1 billion on their logistic hub in Ogun state 3. They are also a manufacturing company since the manufacture some of the products they sell and they have a manufacturing plant in Ogun state also. 4. It doesn't even matter what they do, N900 million on any kind of operation = Investment= Creates Jobs= IGR=Growht=Development=Prosperity. 5. Posting random investments in other parts of the country doesn't change anything because random investments in other parts of the country are different from Ogun state because Ogun draws in huge investments consistently instead of random one here, one over there. 6.Posting random power stations here and there is kind of childish and grossly illogical unless you are ready to also prove to us that the other stats you are listing and their random investments also generate the second largest IGR in Nigeria like Ogun state which I'm very sure you can not do. 7. Lastly, are you right and MAN was wrong even with MAN's survey with numbers report that corroborated the UK envoy's assertions. You are not making any sense, you just love to hear yourself talk. 2 Likes |

deomelllo: LOL, Stop panting hesitantly, Man should open up their statistics structure for verification, Nigerian stats leaves more to be desired, Going by this investment you are touting, How about oil and gas, and other sectors, Investment is investment, no matter the sugar coating, So if that new distribution facility of 1 billion naira, is the case, Does it amount to nothing, that there aren't other distribution facilities been set up across the length and breadth of the 36states of Nigeria? Anyway recently too Kelloggs is setting up in lekki ftz, So how come ogun alone accounts for not 20,not 30,not 40but 75%of fdi inflow in the whole federation of 36 States including Lagos. |

arinzeejikonye: Data by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), analysed by BusinessDay, show Ogun State has over 70 percent share of manufacturing investments in the country between 2014 and 2016. So, MAN lied and their own survey was bogus and flawed? Do you know more than man MAN and their manufacturing members and their investment activities? You are not making any sense. 1 Like |

[s] arinzeejikonye:[/s] Stop arguing like a baby, MAN is Nigeria's manufacturer's trade group and the survey of their manufacturing members says Ogun cornered 75% of the investments entering Nigeria, you have zero facts or survey, you don't know anything beyond cut and paste random power plants here and there. AshiwajuFoward: We might agree to disagree, However, I am only painstakingly positing of stance on some of the stats we got over here. As at today, we don't even have a clear picture of unemployed, illegal migrants, even the total of our population is a subject of controversy. My contradictory position, is that this stat should be near to reality, To say the least, In all honesty, can we all cross our chest and agree that Ogun state alone account for 75%of fdi in the 36 States of the federation, including Lagos? |
