They are many Saturdays church, some are 7days Adventist, White Garment sabbath (name may differ, mostly from the eastern region of the country) and the main one house of Yahweh.

1. We don't work on sabbath, that is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday

2. We don't cook on sabbath day, all cooking should be done on Friday before sunset (mostly we cook rice and we preserve it not to spoil and we eat it Saturday morning)

3. No buying and selling on sabbath day till Saturday sunset.

4. We don't celebrate birthdays

5. We don't celebrate Christmas and new years and Easter.

6. We celebrate feast of passover and unleavened bread, feast of trumpet, feast of Pentecost, feast of Atonement, feast of Tabernacles, etc

7. We don't eat unclean animals such as fish without scales (cat fish, Titus fish etc), snake, monitor lizard, rat or rabbit, dog, etc

8. We sing with palms mostly

9. We observe fasting

10. And we are very prayerful

In 2008 or so, there was a repeat of maths in the w.a.s.s.c.e , this was scheduled for a Saturday. Everyone in that center owned by the SDA failed maths as the principal refused them to write an exam on a Saturday. However, he drove his son in his car to partake in the exam as his son was registered in another school.

They don't marry outside their circle

That's what I know
you lied for saying we don't marry outside our church.

Pls why is their doctrine entirely different from other churches, they don't celebrate xams, easther and new year, they worship on Saturday. Is their bible different?
And what's the evidence that Saturday is Sabbath day and if yes,why do other churches choose to worship on Sunday?

HI NL, I WANT U GUYS TO HELP ME, SHARE WHAT U KNOW ABOUT THE SEVDNTHDAY ADVENTIST CHURCH..OR U EXPERIENCE ABOUT THEM...
well, they go to church on Saturday, the worship has two sections the Sabbath school and the divine service. they also go to church on Wednesday, that's called mid week service. They strongly believe in Ellen gold white, her prophesies and her writings. they don't believe Christmas is on Dec. 25 n don't celebrate it. they don't pierce their ears even from birth. they have this thing called 'AYM' that's short for adventist youth ministry that helps youths acquire skills that would be helpful to them. well majority of them I met were cool. another thing is I don't know why they always preach against the Catholic Church. can't count the number of times they used the Catholic Church as the theme for their sermon. but apart from that, they are really cool

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian group

They forbids food like pork, crayfish e.t.c which according to their doctrine or discipline is unclean.

They follow that rule strictly.

I have a friend like, after serving a meal, you need to see questioning shocked shocked shocked

we engaged in a bible discussion and through the power of the Holy Spirit I revealed some truth

In conclusion, The truth is that there is nothing created by God that is unclean!

To God be the glory, he eats those things now

When it is clear that Sabbath day is Saturday why do most churches worship on Sunday?they do not keep God's commandments and everyone neglect it.

Seventh day Adventist Church is a protestant church that has its roots and origin from the Bible. It is incontrovertible that the Bible says "Remember the Sabbath day keep it holy" in Exd20 It is well known that the seventh day of the week remains the Sabbath day if we agree that Jesus resurrected on the first day of the week which is Sunday.so establishing this church is based on God's instructions in the bible.
People have different perceptions about the church or it's members. The identity of the church cannot be judged based on what one fellow does or does not do somewhere. However, the identity of the church is based on 28 fundamental beliefs which all have their roots in the bible. Check www. adventist. org/ fundamental beliefs

Well is good to know something new about Adventist
Cos my colleague who is an Adventist am sorry to say is nothing to write home about. What you may see and overlook is poison and charm, we are tired of the suspicious style it made most of us detest the church. undecided undecided

Before the holidays, once she's the only one around none of us dares to leave our food in the office. Lies and gossip, they are experts. She's new but has made all other old staff conscious of what does not exist in our midst beforehand.

I appreciate whomever decided to push this topic to the forefront.
There are some people who are afraid to speak about this denomination...but I am not embarrassed to speak on God's leading for me.
There are so many people who don't understand about this particular Christian denomination.
I have read so many incorrect statements here today...and a list of alleged "do's and dont's"...
Or "they can't do this or can't do that"....
Instead of actively trying to research something, we tend to make gross accusations and extremely wrong assumptions...and then discriminate.
Anything that is "different" from what we humans, deem as "normal" or mainstream (and that includes anything from discrimination against people with disabilities, or height, weight, learning disabilities, religion, culture, ethnicity, likes or dislikes etc.) we tend to criticize, condemn or shun....without even trying to know what something is all about.
I serve God (not a day...not a woman or man)...and as a result of prayer to God....have been led to attend this particular denomination.
Worshiping GOD is who it is all about. God doesn't force anyone to do anything. Of course there will always be wolves...amongst the sheep...people who don't represent Christ...or who may be well-meaning ignorant fanatics. That exists in every denomination....and even in every religion (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc.).
You have the extreme ends of the pendulum...and with this denomination...that is no different.
I prayerfully hope that those who truly desire to know what this denomination is about will not only pray and research (because God says to come and let Him reason with us), but perhaps visit a church there in Nigeria smiley

Be blessed in this new year of 2018!

They preach more about the end time that when I was serving in one of the creeks in Bayelsa I became scared that the world might end before I finish serving and there is no access to road except riding over 1:30mins in a speed boat.
So later, I stopped attending their programs to regain my sanity. But they truly have lots of good teachings and practices to emulate.

but indeed end time is near mind you we are at the last stage of Nebuchadnezzar's dream is golden image concerning the rulership of this world. Jerusalem is now the capital city of Isreal. That means alot Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Brother/sister,
It appears as if you have had a bad experience with an Adventist and for that (if that was the case), my apologies to you.
But it's very unfair to paint the denomination with one long broad stroke.
I think you should look at it this way:
Ideally, God would have a couple to be on one accord in certain areas...cause that makes for a peaceful home...without any opposing or destructive forces that need not exist.
Where husband, wife and children agree on certain core issues. Basically being equally-yoked...about the foundational issues.
It is no different than a Pentacostals wanting to marry Pentacostals or Catholics wanting to marry Catholics or Baptists wanting to marry Baptists.
There are some popular churches named here on this website who ideally want their members to marry within their denomination. But I don't think it's about exclusion of other people....
We could look at Religions and look at how majority Muslims would only want to marry a Muslim...or Christian a Christian.
It isn't about "discriminating or frowning on another group of people".
It's about having common ideologies and beliefs. Those beliefs are Biblically-based as well.
However, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has about 50 percent of its members who either:
1). Eat (clean) meat or Don't eat meat at all
2). Wear jewelry and make-up or Don't wear jewelry or make-up
3). Wear pants or Don't wear pants
4). Live in the country or live in the city
5). Some celebrate the holidays and some don't

I could name more...and ideally it would be nice to have the whole denomination be on one accord about things...but human beings always have a CHOICE about things. It can work or it can not work...but people have the choice on what they would like to do.
Many members marry other denominations (and then the spouse converts...or does not convert)....(not sure about the stats on the success rate though). But these situations happen.
Ultimately, it comes down to a personal decision...which the two involved have to deal with.
Have a Happy New Year!
