I cooked (25th, 26th, one of them days and 1st)
on the 25th, I made chicken stew and a mixed goat-cow (?chevron-beef) stew...2 red stews...diced and fried plantain flavoured with lots of onions, some ginger and pepper and tiny salt...stir fry with a dash of lemon and nutmeg which I forged
Verdict, stews each7/10, plantain 9.5/10, I dunno what I did (unplanned) with chicken ? basted 9.5/10, stir fry 3/10...like, one taster said "next time give us coleslaw/salad pls)

Based on feel-goodness and also on paranoia that the people with me (all female) were gonna untidy the house, I made abacha on the 26th
Verdict- 8/10..they said I burnt the crayfish but finished it all . I honestly wanted it to have a teenytiny burnt-bitter tang, but till now they don't believe me

On a roll, I cooked beans on one of the days before the New Year
Verdict- 1/10 (the 10 percent is for effort), so bad that it was recooked by "the others" the next day, and despite this, still so bad that it was thrown away
I let the beans boil and strained off the pesticides...and added the condiments for a "slow cook" forgetting it was not yet time for those...and this with a cocky sureness about knowing what time it was when told by those gehs that I should let the beans be for a while
Truly face-palm worthy, the beans

New Year- that Bollinger -inspired palm oil stew with beef pieces, and a gravy(green pepper/carrots/chicken and beef) same plantain style and same chicken
Verdict both stews 9/10, improved by more pepper than the Christmas ones... plantain same 9.5/10 but fried by a converted geh not me ...chicken 8/10 and not as awesome as the first

With Coke, Baileys and ice cream giving more sauce to the holiday

But the beans?

Good one, you are the kind i like - so clean and tidy. Even as a man i try to keep my pots and burners clean after every use but u can't say same with most ladies nowadays.
You husband must be really proud of u, i can imagine how sparkling clean everywhere and everything about and around you will be. Kudos
