i am really wondering why the NFF are yet to confirm any friendly. Asides from the one confirmed by Poland in march nothing else, the England game is just that rumour.

Could it be because of the distance from Poland that they are yet to confirm the second friendly? But then again they should try Columbia cos they have Senegal in their group.
Rumour of this friendly, that friendly nothing concrete it's annoying and I know it's the start of the year but? hmm

Could it be that the Super Eagles isn't that attractive?

Just me wondering and thinking out looud

Why post this here? We shouldn't be worried, he plays very well for the super eagles apparently. Arsenal fans are victimizing him because he chose Nigeria.

Lol funny picture but who are the people burying their head in the sand? All I have mostly read is encouragement and call for our players to improve. Believe me if we had descent replacements for the players who are currently underperforming I'll be the first to call for their inclusion but the reality on ground is you don't have any at the moment so we have to make do with what we have. Iwobi has been posting on and off performances for some time now not just of recent we can only continue to encourage alex and make him that he has to up his game same with kc

Yeah! I purposely stirred the hornets nest in this one.

The genesis of the recent ruckus

Wow.... quite hectic and at the same time amusing reading all about this scuffle. Funny thing is I started it! Yeah.... and unfortunately Forgiveness took the bait hook, line and sinker and he took it to a whole new level. At least we all can see for ourselves. Those that live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. I am not here to debate who is right or who is wrong in the scuffle or who won the bout. Truth is we still need to learn rules of engagement. And this applies to everyone. There are ways of putting across our points without resorting to insults or punches below the belt.

Let us also understand that this thread never forgets even the slightest snide remark passed at one time or the other. We can always make references so as not to have our intelligence insulted. Thank you all

What are your thoughts about Ebuehi's proposed move to Benfica? Good move or should he hold out for an English move?
Better than a championship move imo.
The most important thing is playing time.

I brought this news first (yesterday) but no one cared to handle it because they were all bent on having a go at each other. I will reiterate, Ebuehi should shun England for Benfica, and this ain't subject to where Norwich finishes at the end of the season. Benfica is a traditional team in Portugal and they are regulars in Europe also. He would gain more exposure playing for Benfica than he would for Norwich. English leagues are overhyped and I don't understand this desperation to play in this league by our stars. This madness is preposterous and nauseating to say the least.

I rather he goes to Benfica, he's likely to grow there with less pressure so he doesn't burn out.

But there's no tendency he's going to be in Russia
chrisooblog:

I would advise him to stay in holland so he can continue to enjoy first team football. Hopefully a good performance at the world cup should see his stock rise which could mean better offers from other clubs.

If he goes to benfica there's no guarantee he'll get playing time or that he would have settled down while he might get good playing time I wouldn't want the physicality of the championship to cause any unnecessary injury to him so close to the world cup

Obviously you haven't been following events closely.

The other day, I commented about Iwobi's poor performance against Liverpool. The reactions I got was that Iwobi was being criticized unfairly ( there were even pointers to sour grapes for dropping England for Nigeria). Ever since, I've noticed some kind of over indulgence and misguided zeal to defend Iwobi at all cost. Someone even posted last night that he's on the look out for Arsenal fans calling out Iwobi after another flat performance against Nottingham Forest.

Any smart person will figure where this is all heading to knowing the history of another Nairaland fan's favorite here.

Arsenal fans MOSTLY complain about their CBs and DM. Infact, Xhaka is criticized 20 times more than Iwobi. There's no agenda against Iwobi, but fact is he isn't anywhere close to his form of early last season. The form that made Wenger not go for Mahrez and Draxler last season. He's off form - there's no denying it. Anyone saying otherwise is clearly undermining his talent or didn't watch him well enough last season.

If they were really complaining about their CBs & DM they wouldn't have time to be concerned about Iwobi. This is how bad those players are but yet after every match the first thing u hear is Iwobi Iwobi Iwobi. The boy can't even post a picture without some clowns running him into the ground. This is to me even worse than the treatment Efe Ambrose received from his own fans at Celtic. I don't mind criticism as long as it is fair. I agree that he is not productive but that is not the reason arsenal is in 6th place.

I'm an Arsenal fan. The only player that hasn't been majorly criticized is Ozil. Xhaka had to turn off the comment section in his IG because he was getting death threats at one period. Bellerin gets abuse after abuse anytime we use lose or draw. Iwobi isn't been singled out.

these people never have suggestions. The only thing they have are cheap shots which they throw whenever they want to gloat

Take them seriously at your own peril. They have risen from the ashes after the team shut them up some months ago, the magic of that win is fading, hence the renewed agitation

So, just ignore until March which is the next time the team will get the opportunity to defend themselves

I actually laughed out loud when I saw this list. I am not saying that it's an illegitimate list but I hope that you guys know how to analyze/interpret the listing.

A quick browse through the list shows it seems to be based mostly on contract length and age. Seems to ignore ability entirely. How else could you have Ndidi (51) ranked as more valuable than Toni Kroos (53). Is Wijnaldum (44) really worth more than Isco (45)? Oxlade Chamberlain (65) better than Verratti (78)? Dele Alli (6) better than Gabriel Jesus (17)? LOL Nathan Redmond (89) ranked above David silva, coman, Asensio, Alderweireld and kimmich??

Anyway, my point is, don't just take the raw scores (numbers) and run with them because, as my mom would say, "half education is dangerous".

Report: Iheanacho Earning N2.9B A Year, Leicester Regret Signing Striker?

Published: January 08, 2018

Leicester City are willing to offload Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho in the January transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Foxes have admitted they made a mistake and are prepared to let Kelechi Iheanacho leave - even if it means making a loss on the £25million striker.

It is claimed that the stumbling block to a proposed departure from the King Power Stadium is that Iheanacho currently earns around £115,000-a-week (or N2.9 billion a year), which might not be matched by an interested European club.

The former Manchester City starlet was out of favour under manager Craig Shakespeare, before he was declared surplus to requirements by new boss Claude Puel.

The 21-year-old's game time has been inconsistent, with only two Premier League starts against Huddersfield Town and West Brom.

Last summer, French club Monaco were interested in Iheanacho's signature but he preferred a move to Leicester City.

I think you are generalizing out of the multitude of posters we have here how many have displayed such line of thought? Besides that people will always post reasons to defend their favourite players its nothing new but as far as the national team is concerned we always generally want the best for the super eagles. Don't be surprised that this same alex who is currently the flavour of the month will be criticized heavily by everyone if God forbid his poor form continues abi was it not a year ago that ighalo seemed to be on his way out of the national team but today baring injuries he's on the way to the world cup this life Sha!
