I would advise him to stay in holland so he can continue to enjoy first team football. Hopefully a good performance at the world cup should see his stock rise which could mean better offers from other clubs.

If he goes to benfica there's no guarantee he'll get playing time or that he would have settled down while he might get good playing time I wouldn't want the physicality of the championship to cause any unnecessary injury to him so close to the world cup

True talk

All these january transfer na distraction for guys wey dey pay first team football

Its highly necessary though for guys frozen in their clubs (KC, Ahmed Musa)

Iwobi Rated Arsenal's Worst Player Vs Forest, Stats That Show He May Be Replaced By Nelson
Published: January 07, 2018

Alex Iwobi's dip in form worsened in Arsenal's humiliating 4-2 loss to Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday evening so much so that he was rated the joint-worst Gunners player on the pitch.

With Mesut Ozil rested, the Nigeria international was supposed to be his team's playmaker but he was so poor that Arsenal fans were left scratching their heads.

None of Iwobi's three shots was on target against Forest, he had a passing accuracy of 85.5 percent and his defensive frailties and lack of creativity were exposed after making only one tackle and winning one foul for his side.

Comparing Iwobi's performance to Reiss Nelson, who is being tipped to replace the Nigerian in the first team, the 18-year-old made four key passes, had 11 touches more, passing accuracy 88.4 percent, made four tackles and won three fouls.

In the player ratings by Football.London, Iwobi was awarded three out of ten marks, along with central defenders Rob Holding and Per Mertesacker.

''Another poor performance from a player horribly out of form. Played in a deeper role than normal but couldn't influence the game,'' Charles Watts wrote on Iwobi.

In Iwobi's last 18 outings for Arsenal in all competitions, he has scored only one goal.

The last time I posted datas comparing 6 players that can play Mikel's, someone rubbish eventhough the datas were gotten from an independent source.

Behold, it is what is used up there to evaluate the performance of a Player.

Iwobi style of play is one two pass. He can't play like Mikel though he brings another flavour to the team.

I watched him played yesterday and I can see he played the deep attacking midfield role but he could not influence the game neither did he create any chance.

I think he is better a SS and somehow a big game player.

However, I fear for our team if Mikel is not available for a game during the WC. Who will play his role effectively?

I know people call for my head if I suggest Raheem Lawal hence the need to look Josh Onomah way.

I think Josh Onomah should be given the chance to prove himself.

Bros, based on the stats you posted on Raheem, it wouldn't be a bad idea to try him in a friendly game

Ebuehi is presently in a dicey situation.
Move or No Move, he needs to make a choice. My own be say make he weigh im choice wella if possible make e use sensitive scale wey go give am correct answer.

His world cup slot is not yet Sealed.
This Move will be a changing point in his entire career and finally he should not forget that he is now a NIGERIAN. Wishing him the best in whatever choice he chooses to make.

Puel brought into question again right? wink

His "Nacho need to improve response" may he a mask for the true reasons he is leaving Nacho out. I mean, Nacho have hardly been used by this man called Puel who claims he works hard and does well in training. undecided

Nacho just needs the right move and the right coach who won't be fired who believes in his undoubted talents and plays a system Nacho can strive in. Na wa for all this challenges of Nacho. But I pray the lad gets through this tough phase in his young and promising career.

Joel Obi Becomes Third Nigerian To Reach 100-Game Milestone In Serie A But Gets Injured
Much loved Nigeria international Joel Obi became the third Nigerian player to reach a 100-game milestone in the Italian Serie A on Saturday, January 6.

The attacking midfielder started Torino's 3-0 win over Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, and joined respected former Super Eagles stars Christian Obodo and Stephen Makinwa in the 100-game club.

On the flip side, Obi had to be substituted after only 34 minutes after suffering a suspected ankle injury, and he will undergo a medical examination in the coming days to determine the severity of the ailment.

The 26-year-old played 50 games for Inter Milan in the Italian top-flight, 8 for Parma and made his 42nd appearance for Torino against The Red and Blues.

Nigeria's record holder in the Serie A is former Perugia, Fiorentina and Udinese star Christian Obodo, who amassed 196 appearances followed by Makinwa with 120.

Obafemi Martins, Victor Obinna and Eddy Onazi, who are active but not in Italy, played more than 50 games in the Serie A.

i am really wondering why the NFF are yet to confirm any friendly. Asides from the one confirmed by Poland in march nothing else, the England game is just that rumour.

Could it be because of the distance from Poland that they are yet to confirm the second friendly? But then again they should try Columbia cos they have Senegal in their group.
Rumour of this friendly, that friendly nothing concrete it's annoying and I know it's the start of the year but? hmm

Could it be that the Super Eagles isn't that attractive?

Just me wondering and thinking out looud

In a recent interview with Channel's TV, Pinnick said something about issuing a press statement on the friendlies at the same time the other country announces the date of the friendly.

It could be that he's just waiting for the other country to fix a date...not sure though

SUPER SEVEN: Home Eagles Stars To Watch Out For At 2018 CHAN

Completesportsnigeria. com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU picks seven players who are expected to play big roles for the home-based Super Eagles at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco starting at the weekend…

ANTHONY OKPOTU
All eyes will be on the Lobi Stars striker to deliver the goods for the Home Eagles in Morocco. Okpotu demonstrated his predatory instincts with two superb goals in the final of the Nigeria Professional Football League invitational tournament against MFM FC.

‘The Panther’ as the experienced forward is called by his admirers scored 19 goals for Lobi Stars to emerge top scorer in the NPFL last season.

IKECHUKWU EZENWA
The team’s first choice goalkeeper demonstrated his importance to the team with a crucial penalty kick save in the qualifier against Benin Republic. The Enyimba goalie who is also the team’s captain has a big chance to prove he is good enough to man the post for the main Super Eagles side at the World Cup in Russia.

KALU ORJI
One of the four members of the current team that were part of the Home Eagles side that took part at the last edition in Rwanda 2016. The experienced centre-back barring any unforseen circumstances is assured of a place in the starting eleven and much will be expected of him to keep the defence tight.

RABIU ALI
Rabiu Ali is the only surviving member of the home-based Super Eagles team that came third on their debut appearance in the competition four years ago in South Africa.
‘Pele’ shone in the qualifiers and the WAFU Nations Cup in Ghana last year where he was picked in the team of the tournament. Much will be expected from the Kano Pillars star who will anchor the team’s midfield.

IFEANYI IFEANYI
A consistent performer for the team all through qualifiers and the WAFU Nations Cup. He has a perfect understanding with Rabiu Ali. How well the two midfielders perform at the competition may determine how far the team will go in the competition.

SUNDAY FALEYE
The young forward distinguished himself during the NPFL invitational tournament in Kano. The forward, a product of Nigeria Nationwide League two outfit Freestan FC, is well respected among his teammates due to his dribbling ability.
The competition provides a big opportunity for him to show is
class and quality on a bigger stage.

OSAS OKORO
The versatile right-back who can also play as winger. One of the most experienced members of the team. He was also part of the team to Rwanda 2016.

2. He hires a psychologist; the constant battering from Arsenal fans may be affecting his game.

3 He enters beast mode in training; seriously, we don't know if he has been working hard enough

I was opportuned to watch the FA cup replay between Fleetwood Town and Leicester. I took my time to watch Nacho so as to be able to assess him.

Though his team general performance was below par considering the level of their opponent, Nacho's 10min cameo appearance has nothing good to write home about. He only had one single touch of the ball.

The boy seem either not to be interested in playing for LFC or he is no longer interested in football. I wasn't that happy with the attitude he posted. For a player who is trying to get back to the bench, I was expecting a bit of fighting spirit and aggressiveness to show that you ain't happy been left out of match day squad.
Nacho isolated himself and was just idle waiting for balls that'll never come. He couldn't fight for the few that came to his direction...

I only hope he can shake things up and come back to reckoning but he needs to first realise that nothing comes on a platter of gold not even making a match day squad either in LC or at Bristol. He need to find his WHY!

Super Eagles star turns down a lucrative move to China -
.com Jan 8, 2018 1:00 PM

Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme has turned down a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan according to reports.
The 28-year-old Nwakaeme has banged on 12 goals from 24 appearances in all competitions this season for Hapoel Beer-Sheva who has 18 months of his current contract with the Isreali outfit.

Nwakaeme has delayed any possible transfer talk until the summer as he has been likened with move to team up with Nigerian captain John Obi Mike in China

"There’s a concrete offer from China and a team in the Bundesliga but I want to see out the season with Hapoel-Beer Sheva then maybe in the summer discuss potential moves,” Nwakaeme told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"I’m focussed on the team and hopefully, we can land another league title at the end of the season.”

One cap Super Eagles star Nwakaeme joined the Hapoel Beer-Sheva from Hapoel Raanana in 2015 and he hoping to make Genort Rorh World Cup party in Russia.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 3-2 Arsenal (Welbeck 79)

Out of nothing, Arsenal are back in this! Clanger from the goalkeeper Smith.

Iwobi plays a slide-rule pass through to Welbeck, Smith is favourite to win it as he comes out of goal, but he fails to gather it, and Welbeck sidefoots the loose ball into an empty net. Smith is furious with himself!

From Guardian commentary.

I am baffled with the negative criticism Iwobi is getting. If I did not watch the game, it will be as if Iwobi did nothing for 90 mins. Out of nothing, Iwobi created scoring opportunity after giving a Kevin De Bruyne kind of pass that split the Nottingham Forrest defence into two and Welbeck scored the goal. If Kevin De Bruyne or David Silva gave that pass, there would have been a party to celebrate it. Instead Iwobi is getting sticks. Those Arsenal bloggers tearing Iwobi are ingrates.

That pass came from deep which highlights how Iwobi dropped deep to help the team.

As for Kelechi Iheanacho, in the game against City, I saw improvement in his hunger for the ball, his pressing and work rate. The coach has confirmed Iheanacho is working hard in training and in the game against Argentina, we saw improvement in his crosses, free kick and he had a good game against a quality team.

I think these are enough to show Nacho has the drive and passion to keep excelling in the game.

I only hope he can shake things up and come back to reckoning but he needs to first realise that nothing comes on a platter of gold not even making a match day squad either in LC or at Bristol. He need to find his WHY!
I watched the game full time..all u said above was true..infact his only touch of the ball was a trap which he couldn't just trap . ..

he went on some aerial duels but guess what, couldn't even win one...

but just like the Algerian game in Algeria...I won't judge him with that match because even our last December village league was more excited, entertaining and a sight to behold than that match... that match was a whole new POLICE GAME redefined. .

my humble suggestion still remains that.. we still have friendlies @ the super eagles for play.. if in any way his match rustiness affects his game play for Nigeria in those friendlies, my humble opinion is to go for a false 9 , since we don't have any reliable striker for the moment. . ( ighalo turns off and on like nepa. .we can't gamble cos we won't know the match he will turn off grin)..

but if he maintains his stats for the GWG... baba club performance can go fvck itself...

but in any way, i think he is going through some rough patch which is one of the processes in life before one attains greatness..

wish him what he wishes himself thoor..
