Of course no one is stopping him from partying.

But partying the morning before an FA Cup tie is the height of indiscipline and irresponsibility.

He obviously saw Nottingham Forest as a push over.

Make him try that nonsense for Russia first

Highlight btw Arsenal vs Nottingham Foresst

Question; how do you see Arsenal's second goal?

Was it a world class assist?

Was it a defence splitting pass?

If it is was, why didn't it get to Welbeck direct?

Would Welbeck have had a chance to score if the goalkeeper was experienced enough to push the ball away instead of trying to catch the ball?

I am asking because someone said it was world class assist. Nothing more.

But seriously shaa wink I do recall you saying he has the best first touch, possibly in world football. He will learn from this. He is 21. Fun is like a sports car sometimes, only room for one. Iwobi needs a van with room for family and more to help guide him because with a sports car, he will spiral out of control and burn alone.

Take this from me oh cosmic one. Only one home based player or none at all will be in Russia come June/July

As for Nacho and Musa. Time will tell. wink

Haaa. Sir, we might be surprised oooo.

It'll be dangerous to carry rusty legs to the mighty WC ooo.

It'll be even more unfair to overlook players performing excellently in their club sides (home and abroad)

Let's also not forget that the CHAN is starting and those home-based eagles will fight tooth and nail to make that squad

So, I don't think it's a done deal for the duo (I may be wrong when the last is finally released)

India as a former colony of britain have always had interest in football. You will be surprised that they are some clubs in india that are over 100 years old.

China like other asian countries have been crazy over football especially premiership over the last couple of decades. At least I know china had a top female national team in the nineties

Well, you may be right about indian having clubs that are over 100 and having interest in football but what is the fraction of the population interested in football since independent till just recently?

50%, 60%, 80%, 100% or 0.01%?

Indians are cricket lovers though recently things are changing.

I have met thousands of them in a gathering and when it is time for sports, they normal choose basketball over football.

India is predominantly a country fascinated towards Cricket. Football has never received the importance it should have.

Until the Ambani Family came up with the idea of ISL. A footballing league for India with veteran foreign players flying over to play with the budding Indian talents also at display.

It was in 2013 that India has it's first season of ISL which was won by Atletico De Kolkata. That was the beginning of a new era for Indian football.

Comparing the standards of European football to that of ISL is unwise. But the level of Football has started improving and is growing by leaps and bounds over the past years.

https://www.quora.com/Why-are-Indians-more-interested-in-foreign-football-leagues-while-they-dont-show-much-interest-in-the-ISL-which-is-happening-in-their-own-country

Pls, take note that the Indian league just started in 2013.

This is one of the reasons I said most of our NPL clubs should be sold to Nigerian billionaires.

Chinese urge for football can't be compared with that of Korean and Japanese some few years ago.

Maybe they like watching football but not to make a career in it.

Remember, Chinese are restricted from having not more than one kid and this is why they make sure their only one boy gets educated till university level or groom them in the sports they are dominant at at the world stage.

I have met thousands of Chinese too in gatherings but hardly do you see them play ball.

It is just recently the government developed a policy to make China the biggest footballing nation by 2030 or 2050.

Just a smile? Hian... You be stoic? Lol

Better don't close talks with that cousin of yours. wink Our players will come good in Russia. So you don't want to be there when Mikel owns Modric in the middle? cheesy or when Ndidi pockets Rakitic and Kovacic? Or when Iwobi himself destroys Iceland? Or when Nacho repeats his freekick heroic against the Argies? Or when Uzoho makes save after save to deny Perisic, Mandzukic, Aguero, Dybala, Messi, Sigurdsson and Gudmunsson? wink

Come on, don't let a few bad happenings discourage you now. Look at the bigger picture. Most of these lads are still young. Don't throw in the towel on them yet. Russia 2018 is the big baptism for this young team. They will come good and learn big. I believe this strongly.

dropping them is not the issue, the issue is- who are you replacing them with?

We only have one FIFA window open between now and when the World Cup list is out. It is too late to be dropping any key player and wasting someone else's time- if we can even find someone else.

Dropping them is totally out of it. If you are only as good as your last game, then they were both brilliant and it will be unfair to drop them when they have not given the coach a reason to do so

Some of these big stars have been dropped by their countries, but did that affect the decision of the club coaches? No, because they are doing well for them and that is what coaches care about.

£30,000-a-week Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi is caught on video at 3am party hours before his side crashed out of FA Cup in shock defeat

Clip shows 21-year-old Nigerian international dancing and screaming at 2.37am
Next day he started in a pivotal role for Arsenal as they slumped to shock defeat
Sources report laughing gas canisters and smell of cannabis coming from party
No suggestion Iwobi took drugs, but fans slammed his performance as rubbish

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has come under fire after a video of him emerged at a supposedly drug-fuelled party the day before the London side's shock FA Cup exit.
The clip shows the 21-year-old Nigerian international, who is on a reported £30,000-a-week at the Emirates, dancing and screaming at 2.37am on Saturday at a flat in Soho.

And the next day he started in the pivotal number 10 role for the Gunners as they flopped to a 4-2 third round defeat to Championship team Nottingham Forest.
Fans have now called for his head, saying he doesn't deserve to be at the North London club.
Although there is no suggestion Iwobi was taking drugs, tenants in neighbouring flats reported laughing gas canisters and a strong smell of cannabis coming from the party apartment, according to The Sun.

The Snapchat video showed the footballer in the centre of the shot with the caption, 'Shouldn't Iwobi be sleeping?'.

Iwobi's social media habits have been a bugbear for many Arsenal fans, with many slating him for spending too much time on his phone posting pictures and videos of himself at Nando's, his luxurious lifestyle and previously with his ex Clarisse Juliette (pictured) before they split last year
A source told the paper the group had been refused entry to a club, so rented an AirBnB flat in Soho.
The partying kept residents awake for hours, and it is thought the antics went on for at least another hour.
Arsenal fans were furious with Iwobi's performance, describing him as 'rubbish' and saying he would be better suited to Championship level with Nottingham Forest.
And the emergence of the video has done nothing to stem the flow of the criticism.
Supporters were last night calling for Arsene Wenger to suspend the star over his antics.
One fan said on Twitter: 'Arsenal should suspend Alex Iwobi for his actions on Saturday night and Sunday morning, knowing he was a "senior player" on the Sunday against Forest.
'Sheer stupidity and naivety from him.
'Explains his poor performance too.'
Another said: 'Doesn't deserve to start now don't deserve to be at this club.
'We want him sold or contract ripped up and thrown away.'
One fan threw down an ultimatum to the Arsenal attacker, saying: 'Sacrifice now and become something or be forgotten as a nobody. Your choice.'
But not all fans took to social media to slate him.
Many fans stood up for Iwobi with one even suggesting the late night boosted his performance levels.
A fan said: 'Not really bothered he was out, if anything he played a bit better than usual got got an assist.'
A spokesman from the club refused to comment on the matter, but a source told The Sun the Nigerian's late night could have had an impact on his showing in the cup tie.
This time last year, Iwobi was pictured at a Rae Sremmurd gig with model Clarisse Juliette at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
They split months later having spent three and a half years as a couple, it was claimed.
Juliette was quickly becoming one of the more famous WAGs at Arsenal and posted a picture of the pair on her Instagram account showing Iwobi giving her an adoring gaze.
Her Instagram feed is now almost exclusively pictures of her by herself, mirroring her ex-boyfriend's.

Why not?

When many players are trying to go on loan to get playing in other to get a chance of making the WC party many of our 'regular' players are busy warming the bench and grooving in parties a day a crucial match.

Even this transfer market dull because many players are carefully of missing the WC

What could be responsible for these players attitudes?

Simple. World cup is sure for dem even if dem break leg.

Why do they have this mindset?

Who wan bench us.

Is it true we don't have players that can bench these players allover the world?

I disagree because we sure have players playing day in day out in the top ten clubs in Europe yet we are stucked in this mess.

People think competitive game is same as friendly game. Yoyohahama! I laugh in suzuzuki yakamski voice.

What happened against Argentina will not happen at the WC. Why?

1. Your opponent will study your players and style of play but against Argentina dey just came test their formation and they needed not to study our players. But we surprised them with our new formation. Now, our opponents have taken note.

2. It was just a friendly and nothing really at stack hence the calm nature of match. For world cup, it will be very aggressive and tensed.

3. For world cup, all teams best players will be in the tournament but in that friendly no Messi(like no Mikel Obi) and as soon as Aguero went out, we were left with a week team.

Solution new players currently doing well in Europe should be called for a test. Once, they do well, some players will be scared of loosing their spots.

Arsenal FC news: Arsene Wenger confirms Alex Iwobi to be fined for 'unacceptable' behaviour
Alex Iwobi

By talkSPORT - @talkSPORT

Alex Iwobi will be fined by Arsenal after partying until the early hours of Saturday morning ahead of Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest, boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The 21-year-old forward was filmed dancing in central London at 2.37am on Saturday in a video uploaded to Snapchat, according to The Sun.

He then played 90 minutes at the City Ground as the holders crashed out, going down 4-2 to Championship side Forest.

Wenger said: "That is true. He will be fined. It is impossible to go out 48 hours before a game. It is unacceptable."

Iwobi was reported to have attended a party that included people smoking cannabis and inhaling laughing gas.

But Wenger said his player was not involved in either taking drugs or drinking alcohol.

"First of all we have to be cautious with everything that is coming out," Wenger said.

"When you read what is reported it is like he has taken drugs. He was not involved in that at all.

"He has been out at a birthday party and how long he has stayed? That is important. After, I will decide what happens.

"Did he do drugs or alcohol? Not at all. If your neighbour takes drugs, what can you do? You are responsible for your own behaviour, not the behaviour of your neighbour."

Wenger admitted Iwobi's performance against Forest may have been affected.

"Who knows that?" Wenger said. "You know that sometimes you want to prepare 100 per cent but it is not always a guarantee you will be at your best.

"But that is what is requested from a top-level professional."

I don't buy this idea of excusing players fof not performing in their clubs just because "they play well for the super eagles" ( very debatable). This notion is too short sighted for my liking, it will ultimately bread mediocrity and downward career progression.

Look at boy people were willing to give the benefit of of doubt because he gave a an assist when he was ultimately dross all game. Partying into wee hours of the night with alcohol in his system and a hint of cannabis. Oh dear (!)
Well, what do I know? He is being overly criticized because he's Nigerian.

But Iheanacho and Iwobi has never really played well for the Super Eagles. Take away Iheanacho's 2 goals against Argentina and Iwobi performance against Zambia and you realize they have been abysmal. Its funny how people think Iheanacho and Iwobi did well against Argentina...Do you know how many clean passes sprayed to this guys that they cant keep. Hyping these guys, especially Iwobi is not helping him...That his one two simple passes will not help him. Iheanacho need to pranctice how to trap a ball without losing it like 20,000 times every sing gaddem day!

Iwobi is very irresponsible and you can see that in his behavior...snap chat 100 times a day while Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling are posting breathtaking performances week in week out. Not only fine but he needs to be demoted to U23 for the next 6 months. He has embarrassed his father who has so much faith in him. I hate in-disciplined young people.

OMANBALA1:

But Iheanacho and Iwobi has not played well for the Super Eagles.

I beg to differ.. Kelechi had a brilliant second half against Argentina, he looked full of confidence after the goal. Apart for the Algerian games, Kelechi's record for Nigeria speaks for itself.

Iwobi seems to have come into his own for Nigeria. He has a few bad games at the beginning of the qualifiers but was really good in the last few games.
