Hi I’ve read through the pages and I just have a few questions if anyone could help please? - at point of entry, would one need to show any proof of communication with Dr to at least show expected cost of delivery and all? In my head I’m thinking even if I had 1M dollars, how would the officer know that’s sufficient. Sorry if I’m being thick, just trying to avoid any embarrassment. The Dr says I don’t need communication from him but any advice from an experienced person will be very much appreciated. Not sure if it’d make any difference but I’d be coming from England. Thanks to everyone who’s been actively helping us all out. God bless x |

@ Hamddy...I think hotstepper means its not true.... My opinion, its always been a subject of discussion in the US and Canada to stop the outright citizenship at birth thingy but no strong directions have ever been made. If they want to end it, I don't think it will happen instantly. I believe there will be strong deliberations at the senate/house of parliament before they take a decision... This thread is getting too cold o, people please lets share our experiences..... I was at the verge of making payment today for my US birthing when i received a mail from VFS that my Canadian application is ready...i quickly ran to lekki to pick up, and glory to God i was given the visa. I had given up already cos I applied late and they held my application for 2months....so its change of plans for me cos Canada is my first choice So now, im super-excited and super-confused cos i dont even know where to start.....@hotstepper, the specialist, anyone in the house...please i need your help o....from what I've read so far i'm open to doing Toronto or Oshawa. The only problem is that I plan to travel by this month end and I will be 36weeks. No accomodation plans, nothing.... Anyone that can help with any info, kindly reachout.....thanks so much |

dserious:Hi, At 36 weeks now, it seems a little tight to get an OB GYN that will accept you but its not impossible. Please check for www.ratemds.com for possible obgyns in the area and start calling them to see if any of them can accept you as a self pay patient. If you are lucky, then immediately u get to Canada you can go to a walk-in clinic and ask them to refer you to the OBGYN that accepts you. I wish you the best |

Thanks Olalacious.....please anyone that can help with accommodation in Brampton area should kindly dm me. I'm looking for a one bedroom apartment; i'm also willing to share two/three bed with other mommas. The ones I have found so far are too expensive. @Geeagu, let me attempt to respond to your question based on readings from the thread.....I think the onus is on you to convince the CBP officer that the money you have on you would be sufficient for the trip. You can explain to them that you have contacted several doctors and have made up your mind to use Dr XYZ, stating the fees for his service and the hospital costs (you can actually get this info by calling doctors office). Since most of the doctors don't send emails, be sure to have the name, address and phone number of the doctor you would be using. If you have already secured an appointment with the doctor, it makes it better - just tell them that. Another very useful info I got from Nairaland is the budget sheet, I believe it helped in securing my visas; I also plan to use it at POE. Draw up a well written budget sheet with proof of funds/cash or card, I believe that would be sufficient. I don't know if it will make any difference coming from the UK cos that our green passport never helps. I suggest you use a purely UK airline not Virgin and BA as they usually have a good number of Nigerians connecting from Lagos. All the best and God help us..... |
