PRESS RELEASE

TROOPS AVERT MAJOR SUICIDE BOMB ATTACK ON GAMBORU TOWN

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole deployed around Gamboru Ngala have successfully averted what would have been a major devastating suicide attack carried out by three female Boko Haram terrorists against innocent citizens in Gamboru town in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State in the early hours of Tuesday.

Two of the suicide bombers, strapped with suicide vests had attempted infiltrating Gamboru town at about 6.45 am when they were sighted by a joint patrol team of vigilant troops and Civilian JTF at Unguwar Yobe area shortly before entering the town. They were halted by the patrol team from a safe distance and were ordered to unstrap their suicide vests, to which they vehemently declined. All efforts and entreaties by the patrol team to make the suicide bombers remove their IED vests failed as the duo adamantly approached the troops armed with their IED vests. They were immediately neutralised by the troops, while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD) safely unstrapped and detonated the suicide vests.

A third female suicide bomber was detected and intercepted within the same general area and subsequently confessed to the joint patrol that she and the other two terrorists had been dispatched at about 3.30 am on Tuesday to unleash mayhem on Gamboru town. She also revealed the location she had hid her suicide vest and led the troops to recover it. The recovered vests and the surviving suicide bomber have been taken into custody for further interrogations.

We call on the general public to be more alert and vigilant, while going about their daily activities in their various communities to detect suspicious persons and inform the security agencies accordingly.

Please disseminate this information to the general public through your various news media.

Grateful for your untiring cooperation.

Egyptian Rapid Intervention Forces () are an airborne elite force formed from the various fighting branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which are elite forces with organized, arming and non-stereotypical private training, which is characterized by the execution of bold fighting or the same nature. The Guerrilla in the land and the sea and the atmosphere inside and outside the borders of the Arab Republic of Egypt

The Egyptian rapid intervention forces have the full capability of deterrence and deployment, dealing with all objectives and carrying out all tasks using common weapons tactics because they consist of units of special forces, Infantry, armour, artillery, aviation and air defense.

The Egyptian rapid intervention force or what is known as english deployment force is one of the branches of the Egyptian Armed forces and has been established in March 2014 by former Egyptian Minister of defense and current Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-sisi

The reason for its creation in the Egyptian Army was subject to regional variables in the area surrounding Egypt, after new challenges to the Egyptian Army include chaos in Libya and start from the western border with Egypt other than military militias, terrorism in Sinai and constant threats from organizing elements Al Qaeda and supporters of the holy house, the organization of ISIS terrorist and the ongoing smuggling of arms in the south on the border with the Sudan, and to confront the formation of a quiet terrorist cell belonging to the

This requires the presence of trained, equipped and specialized military forces to intervene quickly, immediately, direct and decisive, and eliminate them before increasing or causing material and moral damage to the state and its citizens at any time. A place, even if it takes to break the border and deal with armed militias in their own backyard.

- THE EGYPTIAN RAPID INTERVENTION FORCE STRUCTURE:

This blog is my favorite defense blog. I open it everyday and these days it's kind of sour yk. Incomplete series like the French, Nigeria and China series and very predictable topics: Boko Haram and France you could also write about what we need, When, a timeline or so. You could apply pressure on the government to fund acquisitions or someone at DHQ could see it. You write so well. Thank you
I have a list of blogs and websites bookmarked on my phone... DefenseNigeria.com is topping the list.

Legendary South African Special Forces aka RECCE "Danny Roxo":

In 1951 Roxo was attacked by a LEOPARD, he had no knife or gun on him, leaving him to defend himself with his bare hands. He suffered some heavy wounds, but managed to strangle the beast to death, thus making the first entry in his list of legendary deeds.

In 1975 he was Ambushed by 11 Cuban soldiers after doing an operation to blow up a bridge. After some heavy gunfire went down, the rest of his team ran towards the noise, only to find all 11 dead before him, without him being shot once.

In 1976 his truck got hit by a landmine, and the vehicle landed on top of him, he was still alive for more than an hour, not making one sound of pain. He mustered enough strength to take out a cigarette and upon finishing it, he died.

We know SA Special Forces operators are called Recces. Danny Roxo passed Recce Selection (at the age of 41 shocked shocked shocked) and then joined 32 Battalion. Passing Selection does not mean you're a Recce operator.

The Untold Story Of Nigeria’s Human Compass, Who Led Nigerian Troops Into Sambisa Forest Against Boko Haram And Got Killed For ..

The statement by the Nigerian Army Public Relations Officer, Brig Gen Kukasheka Usman to newsmen regarding the latest attack on troops only mentioned that 4 troops paid the supreme price while 9 were wounded in action when a Boko Haram vehicle laden with Improvised Explosive Devices rammed into an MRAP vehicle, which exploded “killing 3 soldiers, a civilian JTF and wounding the other soldiers.” There was no mention of the names of those that died in that attack until when Ahmad Salkida, a freelance journalist that specializes in reporting the crisis in the Lake Chad, broke the news on his twitter feed, that the civilian that was killed in that attack on January 8, 2018, was actually a septuagenarian vigilante named, Baba Mustapha
