Away with the thought of witches, those birds are birds of godliness who brought good luck to those whose house they made their patch. Instead of giving it off to those who saw nothing bad in it, who can take good care of it.

I stay in a 3 bedroom apartment somewhere in the east, the ceiling in the parlour/living room has a small broken part.
Came to the dinning to pick my tab and saw this big owl, na JESUS! first comot for my mouth.
Luckily for me I had previously closed all the glass louvres on the window, so it could not get out.
With the help of a big stick... Finally killed it,

Can't believe you wasted this beautiful animal.

Exactly. They could have opened the windows and let the lost creature fly out of your flat and then fix your broken roof to avoid a recurrence.

This is a common occurrence even in civilised countries where birds fall into houses through missing chimney covers and they simply open a window and guide the bird out and they dare not kill it except they want to go to prison for animal cruelty.

why kill an innocent bird.
a bird lost its way to your house and instead of you to open your door to let it fly out, you killed it..you a coward.
bats, ravens, sparrows have mistakenly flown into my house at different times. I didn't kill any, I just opened the door to let it go.
I even had to pick up the bat and threw it outside so it could fly away. it couldn't take flight by itself when it was on the floor.
some birds make their next and lay eggs in my stairway, I didn't destroy their eggs or nest like some other people will do. I just let them stay there till the eggs hatch and they leave themselves..
we as Africans should learn to appreciate wildlife.
once you aren't killing it for food, don't bother to just waste life.
