For once a girl has approached the topic of finances in relationships sensibly and maturely. I agree 100% and may I add getting her occasional gifts (no matter how small). These basic expenditures aren't her motivation for dating you, they're just a way of showing you care and everybody enjoys the knowledge that someone cares about you.
I also agree that guys that truly can't afford any of these shouldn't make getting a girl their priority, however if they somehow find themselves in love with someone that feels the same way, its fine. Most 'broke' guys can do all these but feel their money is not enough for one person, talk less of two. I think the problem is that when you say 'dating' or 'going out', what comes to the minds of most youths is this idea of meeting members of the opposite sex daily and exchanging numbers. In a situation where you meet a girl and find yourself drawn to her and have genuine feelings for her, nobody would need to tell you to do stuff for her. All guys have that innate desire to care for a girl they truly love. The problem comes when as a guy you already have multiple boos, then you meet one fine chick and want to chop and clean mouth or add her to your legion.
A girl may decide to be intimate with you just for the fun of it, but there's nothing wrong in a girl wanting you to treat her the way you would treat a girl you truly loved. She's not demanding sex for cash, she's saying she wants you to do things that normally show a guy cares (even though you probably don't).
At the end of the day I keep saying dating is not by force, everyone has a right to set standards or conditions that they want met before going into a relationship. If you can't meet those conditions, just go your way.
The only time I have an issue with it is when girls start speaking derogatorily to a guy because he doesn't meet up to her specs, just politely let him know your standards, no need to rub it in his face. Although some guys can be immature when it comes to rejection
