The said laptop is a Toshiba product, with Windows 7 installed, and has been used for over 2 years.
However, a few days ago, when it was turned on, it refused to boot.
Instead this message popped up on the screen;

" Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

I want to know;
-Is it necessary to re-install Windows 7 as instructed?
Or,
-Is this a bug or a computer virus problem?

Kindly advice me. The computer contains a lot of important and irreplacable files.

1) Restore the system to an earlier time
2) Refresh with or without losing your files
If the two options above fails, re-install windows completely

It failedtjo repair, so I had to re-install Windows. The laptop is up and running again.

Try system restore

Try system refresh while keeping files

Try recovery

If it doesn't work...re-install windows.

My laptop always display the screenshot below. I had to fix the fan on time because I noticed that I lose whatever I'm doing on start-up after hibernating and movies I watch tend to lag/hang.

The problem is back on but now it's only videos that acts funny

I just got this toshiba and the WiFi hasn't been working also the modem is not showing network..can these be the problem ? And how do I fix it ?

my laptop works normal, but sometimes it lags so much that i cant even watch a movie. music plays smoothly, but movies keep skipping until I restart. I'm using windows 8.1 and I'm thinking it has something to do with drivers or updates because this never happened until I started updating. I've tried googling still haven't figured it out.

The cooling fan issue maybe as a result of faulty fan or fan blocked with dirt. I advise you see a technician on that issue.

As for installing/updating your video graphics driver, Go to device manager on your system. Click on display.Right-click on the driver and choose update. The system will automatically find and install the latest driver for you. Remember you must be connected to the internet.

the easiest way to solve this issue is to get an offline driver pack and install the wifi driver .

Don't worry your document is save on your hdd, do a quick discharge.

Take off the ba3, ram and hdd if possible then hold down the power button for like 20 seconds.

After that, put back everything and power on.
