Just a piece of factual information for you, most of the irate youths who involve in those acts are just natural born criminals who arent even from oil producing or oil bearing or pipeline crossing communities. Have you heard of a local govt called Uvwie in Warri?... Uvwie has no single oil well and has no single case of oil spill or polluted land. But take a trip to Warri and go find out the kind of humans you are defending from afar.
That's bullshi't. There is nothing like Natural Born criminals. Everything is learned through sensual experience. The point is, these guys suffered an experience that warranted their new behavior. They were born in the midst of plenty but can't fathom why their place is messed up. The older ones, whose psyche the FG messed up, pass everything to the next generation and that's why we are here. These guys own the machine that run Nigeria but they can't even run those machines. Nigeria made them what they are today.

Lol. This is not logic. It wasn't Lagos that was the capital but Lagos Island? Lololol. More like Abuja is not the capital of Nigeria but just Asokoro. It's not Ikeja that is the capital of Lagos but Alausa. Lol. I won't even argue this or any of the others.
It seems this guy just likes to argue and he is hell bent on the victim mentality.

The guy you quoted was telling you there is a difference between Lagos state and Lagos the Former Federal capital. Colony of Lagos and FCT Lagos is different from Lagos State. 80% of Lagos state today was carved out from the Western region where Awolowo was premier.

Lagos State today=Part of Western region+FCT

If we are infact being factual, Ikeja up to Ilupeju was the planned industrial hub of the western region under Awolowo. Western Region built Ikeja, not colonial masters, not FG. If you were typically buying land in V.I or Ikoyi, you would get an F.G C of O, cos of its history - not so anywhere in Ikeja.

The Port is a Lagos state/Private Partnership project, it has nothing to do with the FG so case closed you have been shamed and defeated in your own very game.

Why not spread the wealth rather than make Lagos the only commercial viable state?

Why not open up the entire country for business for opening up ports in other States to full capacity?

I don't mean that thing happening in PH port where you'd need x5 of the money clearing in Lagos will cost you.

PH did same and the ports is still almost irrelevant? Don't you think there's something holding these governors and states back? Don't you think there's a reason the port Harcourt ports don't enjoy same thing enjoyed by the Lagos ports. To be honest with you, I think it's deliberate. But countries don't grow that way.

your questions are irrelevant.
first if all your business men are unwilling to invest bfn home. you governors don't even see anything good back home. take orji uzor kalu fir instance his companies HQ are in SW. if it is built who will patronize it. tinapa died a natural death because of low patronage. If you are to start a business in Nigeria where are you going to locate it headquarter.

I won't be surprised if you live in Lagos and clamoring for SE development.

correction.

.... state project, yes, but with the support of the FG. Not order. The FG does not order states around on how to spend their money.

The Lagos state govt in conjunction with some investors are the proponents of the project. They had to involve the FG due to some inconsistencies in our constitution that put some items under the exclusive legislative list.

They curried the favour of the FG and got approval for the project. There is nothing stopping other states from doing same. And I think Akwa Ibom is even doing something similar.

Personally, I think it's silly. Like a mother that deliberately inhibits the growth of her children. Somebody is trying to say these Ports are state projects and you begin to wonder whether there is a body called Lagos State Custom Service that will run the place. A country doesn't grow like this. We need about 6 or more of what you have in Apapa all over the country. Same policy. Same clearing fee. Same system.

Acquaint yourself with the arrangements put in place by the visionary proponents of the project and quit talking like an illiterate. So because the ports and customs are under FG, mean a state cannot go into partnership with the FG?

As much as even distribution of resources are viable to nation building, I don't think Lagos state is to be blamed for wanting to grow. Are we saying other state governors are dumb and don't know how to pull this economic stunts in their states? Don't wait on FG all d time. Pressure the FG to supporting what's good for your people.

I was born and raised amongst these people. And I understand the psyche very much better than you can imagine. This your current attempt to excuse 'laziness' and criminality is exactly what emboldened criminals and got those regions messed up. Yes you heard that very right and I stand by my words; there's a very clear difference between inherent laziness and oppression induced inaction. Not too long ago, the governor of Bayelsa lamented the exact same thing about how many youths prefer not to work but rather just get hand-outs from companies (our oyel syndrome).

Like I said before, most of the loudest and prominent participants in this criminality we talk about arent even from oil bearing communities. You need to take a trip into the heart of a place like Warri (make a special stop around Uvwie LGA) to mingle, not just with the people involved, but more especially with the ones who arent lazy (and who chose to lead the honourable path). With more interaction, you will understand my words better. It's not always what it seems frim afar and continually making excuses for laziness and criminality only emboldens it.
