Yes. Okpotu is still miscontrolling the ball but he has done his best work when he plays behind gabriel.
let's manage it like that....he is one player I think yusuf is so much in love wit...nothing will likely make him stop okpotu...

It is a 4-4-2, Okpotu has been dropping deep since this tournament began that is nothing new

Yes, he has benefitted from someone playing in front of him. He can drop back more often.

Kalu Orji and Eze are not having good games. Sudan has created several chances to equalize.

Defence needs to tighten up.

If the defence was tight ehn.... We would not have seen the best of Ajiboye in those two special moments of individual brilliance.

But for a fact, our defence needs to tighten up more. The Sudanese should not be allowed an inch back into the game especially through that their dangerous no 9.

Oga Kog, listen here. This is not about Forgiveness. When he was on a roll, you never said that directly to him. When he came out with his seemingly tribalistic tendencies rubishing Iheanacho while using Kayode , you didnt say nada. Every little discussion and Iheanacho will be the butt end of it all. I am a Yoruba Man. Born and raised in the west. He gave yorubas bad names with his antics. Even went as far as saying Rohr is corrupt. Those who live in glass houses should remember not to throw stones.

That our national team is full of a particular tribe to me is inconsequential. What matters is results. It is insecurity that makes us feel cheated. If you have the value, no o e will dispite it. Let us not mistake patriotism with tribalism. Constructive criticism has both damaging effects as well as uplifting effects. While encouragement will only give rise to upliftment. And if you observe, that has been the way I address this issue. I dont hold any brief for Iheanacho or any super eagles player. Tearing them apart from limb to limb is what I will frown at anyday anytime especially when their quality is not in doubt. (Not talking about Akpeyi here cos he has no biz in the team in the first place)

Our choice of players is made for us according to the coaching crew. This is not Idols or America's Got Talent or Big Brother Nigeria where the audience get to vote who wins or gets eliminated. If it were up to some people, if you no get 6pack or as cute as Iwobi u cant be in the national team. Thank God its not done that way.

Trust me at this state, I would be happy to take anyone who feels contrary on. Enough of tribalism talks and comments aimed at derriding other players so as to promote a supposed beloved player.
Thank you

Now, let me address your emotional rant.

forgiveness:

First of all, I rate players based on club their play, the League, performance and finally talent.

Based on these criteria, I don't think you can compare Leon Balogun with Kenneth Omeruo nor with Troost-Ekong neither can you compare Kenneth Otigba with Kenneth Omeruo nor Troost-Ekong. No sentiment attached.

Echiejile is currently the best LB Nigerian player in the eyes of the World. Then how can he be worse than Oshaniwa and Madu?

What is the name of Madu's club and where it located in the world map? grin Chai! I can't see.

I have seen him play several times but I noticed he is not good at defending and he can't withstand physical or skilful players.

In what position does Onazi play in Lazio? Sometimes as an attacking midfielder.

No be dat combination win us AFCON? grin

John Ogu is very good but very slow for a very fast and mobile midfielder.

Ideye-brown is good but Ighalo for now is better. All he needs is a creative midfielder behind him.

We have Brown Ideye, Kelechi Iheanacho, Odion Ighalo, Anthony Ujah etc na which one Kayode go fit bench?

Rabiu Ibrahim could not take his chances when given hence hmmm! grin make I never talk. Abdul Ajagun is a baller. Give him the chance and you will see what he is capable of doing.

Who are my preferred strikers in that @bolded?

Didn’t you see me place Iheanacho ahead of Kayode?

You are slow.
forgiveness:

In addition, the league and performance is the deciding factor.

Omeruo was consistently good in the the Turkish league but it can't be compared with the Bundesliga and Eredivisie where we have our players. Gbam!

Leon Balogun played consistently for his club this season. He was only restrained due to injury at the end of the season. We know na. He never lost his position due to lack of performance. His statistics are there to see. 21 matches out of....

Who caused the goal against Luxembourg?
Troost-Ekong played very very well for em em.. this season mean he is per with Leon Balogun and Kenneth Otigba. You know know. Levels no be the same.

Wetin do Otigba?

I repeat Onazi had played for Lazio as an attacking midfielder. It was where he played before he was promoted to the senior team. And he played in that position seldomly for Lazio. This one I know because I monitored him after John Obuh lost the finals. I have seen him played in that position.

I have seen Madu played countless times but I still rate Echiejile higher than him. Monaco no be beans

Echiejile started 18 good league matches for Monaco this season. So, what are you talking about? Is that fair enough or better playing 50 matches in Slovakia? grin

Where Payet dey play? Obviously, not Slovakia na?

John Ogu is good but Onazi is better. Simple.

Kayode might not enter reserve team not to talk of the main National team. Meself fit score goalsssssss grin for Austria na.

Ighalo needs a natural Attacking midfielder behind him..

If you bring Ibrahim I go still take because I am his fan.

Was I not rubbishing Kayode for Iheanacho in that @bolded?

Where were you then?

This was even when he was banging in goals left right and center in Austrian league for the second season. Despite that I rubbished Kayode. Why?

Because I rated Iheanacho and others in better leagues than Kayode in the Austrian league.

Not all are sentimental and blind supporters like yourself.

I regard merit above sentiment. EOD

forgiveness:

Is Omeruo playing for Galatasary or Fernabachi? No

How do you rate him about a player who played against best clubs in the world and in one of the best leagues in the world.

So, you mean clubs in Turkey league will trash Ajax?

Apart from Galasatary and Fernaberchi Turkish league can't be compared with the Eredivisie. Fact.

Omeruo did well but was demoted to the Turkish league, that is not a good compliment.

Leon Balogun and Kenneth Otigba are not in the same levels with Troost-Ekong. Fact.

Onazi played as an attacking midfielder for Lazio two seasons ago. I saw it with my two koro koro eyes. No bi dem say.

I have not seen Madu play for his club but I have seen him played for the National team. He was dropped because he was bullied and beaten several times in his last match.

Echiejile bench warmer! shocked grin What will you call father Mikel? shocked grin and he is in ya first eleven. shocked grin Don't you think constant football improves sharpness?ayeee!

Look at his statistics very well and you will see he played 20 league matches this season. If you remove that 20 from 38 it will remain 18. Waoh! The first choice last season is gradually losing his place to Echiejile. Chai! grin

If you say John Ogu is better than Onazi, it your opinion and you are entitled to it.

So, you think Leon Balogun and Kenneth Otigba can't use their left legs?

Kayode no go smell my team for now. No too much story.

Is the @bolded tribalism or nepotism?

Is the @bolded not rubbishing? Why you or others no cry for Kayode when I dey rubbish am? Oh! Em no get immunity while Iheanacho has immunity, ba?

I support players based on merit and not on tribal connection, Mr man.

Next time check your facts right before spewing gibberish.

Ignorance is not an excuse, Mr I know.

I disagree, the league isn't for 6 clubs to compete, it's for 20 clubs. Until it's made a 6 clubs league, it cant be tagged as a competitive one over another league where almost anyone can win the league.
tbaba1234:

6 teams competing for the title is a very competitive league.

In all leagues in Europe, you have the traditional big teams who compete for the league every year. That is the way, leagues are.

Yes, because anyone can win the league and no one is seen as "giant".

A competitive competition with almost known winners can't be said to be more competitive than another with everyone having equal chance of succeeding.

Being competitive doesn't mean the league is better than the ones with clear winners, but when comparing where you may likely not be able to guess who will win the league from the 20 clubs and not from '6' clubs, then the lower league wins that title.
junnyjake:

I seriously don't get you.

So you'd rate the NPFL higher than the EPL In competitiveness? Since the teams are pretty equated in quality.

Obviously from external influence. When we hire our own, we try to hold them to ransome unlike when it's a foreign coach.
tbaba1234:

There have always been multiple choices. We just failed to give them opportunities.I remember Leon Balogun at some point was obviously Nigeria's best defender in Europe. Siasia released a list and left Balogun out.

Much of our selections under Keshi and Siasia were not merit-driven.

I have shown you the most important stat, Okpotu 2 goals and Harry Kane none. Was Kane around the age of 23? Yes. Was he top scorer in England? Yes. So what else do u want?

I hope you're seeing what he's been doing with balls served to him?

You still haven't shown me how many chances was created for Kane. We know Okpotu scored 2 out of more than 30 chances so far!
