liliberth:You can reapply. My cousin was refused Irish visit visa 4 times, refused US 2 times, UK once. Ireland finally approved his visa on 5th attempt. He came and spent 13 days and back to Nigeria, applied for US and was approved, he's in the processing of applying for UK visa and renew his Irish visa as he plan to come here again then fly to the UK and then straight to US. My point is everything is time. This is a young man that have about 5 printing company branches in Nigeria and I can remember his application before the last one for an Irish visa he submitted personal and his company accounts with 3 different landed properties, copy of his wife Irish and UK used and expired visas, his personal account balance was over 19 million while his company's account balance was 32 million, he was still refused visa and he never give up. Repackage yourself and reapply but give it time maybe after few months. |

jobaadedire:Depends on the Visa, you are on.. That's the stamp you'll be on... There is Stamp 1, Stamp 1g, stamp 2, Stamp 2A, stamp 4, etc.. All have different permissions.. Since you're talking about education, I will focus on Stamp 2(A) If you're a student, most likely, you'll be on a stamp 2 visa, which enables you to work 20 hours per week during school hours, and 40 hours per week during holidays like summer, Christmas etc. The official minimum wage is €9.25 per hour. You can get a job which pays Slightly higher, depends on your qualifications and county. Goodluck. |

femi000:. By law it is not possible. But with God anything is possible. My short stay C-visa was converted to residency, even my legal team were surprised as I did not even have other schemes to channel through then, no Asylum claim, just expired tourist visas. I just try my luck O! Though it was a long legal battle on the ground that my children were all born here, my wife has residency shortly before I apply, so we were both illegal as you can imagine, studying and still surviving for many years. I was told by different people that it is not possible to convert Irish tourist visa to residency, but they were shocked when i got it . But to be sincere I can't try that with the INIS now because they are hotter than fire now. . He should tell the person to try student visa. |

Hi dotcomnamename. This is a great thread. Please keep up the good work. Be the way I applied for an Irish short stay C visa to accompany my wife (British Citizen) who plan to exercise her EU treaty of free movement in Ireland. The application was submitted on the 12 of January 2018. Our plans is to travel together from Nigeria to the UK and then use National express to travel to Dublin. I have no intention yet of living outside Nigeria for now, just like the idea to ride on my wife British Citizenship to travel together around europe with minimal documentation requirements for visa application. We might eventually relocate to Europe Brexit or no Brexit in the future. I have extensive travel history to USA, UK, Schengen countries, Japan etc. My passport still has valid 2 years USA and 5 years UK visas respectively. I submitted just our marriage certificate and few of our wedding photo as proof of relationship which is all that is require for a visa for family member of Union Citizen. Having seen this thread I don’t know if I should have included more documents. My wife intend to call the Embassy as from next week to find out why the delay. Our travel date is in April 2018. Comments and advise welcome. |

dotcomnamename:Sent them a email last night. This was their reply. What do think? Dear Sir Thank you for your email. We received your application in this office on 15 January, 2017. Whilst we are mindful of our obligations to treat applications of this nature in an accelerated fashion, this means that we aim to have applications processed within four weeks of receipt. You should receive a decision in the near future. Kind regards Visa Office ABUJA |

Thanks so much for the post. Pls I'm interested in getting the Stamp 1A visa in order to enrol ACCA. I am already a chartered accountant (ICAN) here in Nigeria. I have also read through all the conditions I'm supposed to meet during my stay. I would like to know how to go about with the application and my chances of getting the visa. I've already visited the INIS website but I could't comprehend what was there. |

eniboi:I think in such emergency you will need to contact irish embassy in Abuja for advice. This is because normal visa application timeline is about 8 weeks. This is after you must have filled the online form, print it out and visit the VAC at Lekki to submit documentation and biometric. So if you need to travel urgently, get in touch with embassy. |
