What if I am able to convince the Consul that I couldn't find my information on Google, don't I stand the chance to get visa? I am not migrating to the US. My research will only take seven days and I am back to sign the publishing contract. What if I provide all the papers and bank statement of one million naira stating I will be sponsoring my trip, don't I still stand a chance of getting my visa? With 100% assurance my friend will be covering my housing, feeding and flight tickets. As regards to this he has sent me his passport data page, bank statement and a proof of house rent.

U.S Embassy hardly check statement of account for tourism/business visa... I will be very happy if you can convince the V.O you have no intention to migrate. My observation is that your ties can not be verified especially the publisher, hopefully you have some books in the market that can be verified... One more thing I think almost no V.O will issue a visa to an adult applicant whose flight and accommodation will be covered by someone else especially if it's for tourism visa.
God luck.

I am single. I have never travelled out of Nigeria before. I don't have a fixed salary as I earn depending on the sales of my books on each quarter. Right now I have 540k in my account. My friend in America who is inviting me over will be covering the housing, feeding and flight tickets as I mentioned earlier. My publisher here in Nigeria (not yet registered as a company) is new in the industry and cannot afford all the papers and money to sponsor my trip. Please advise me more.
you might miss it with family ties. You are single ryt? Your friend will accommodate u. How u do convince V.O that your friend can't hold u down to continue living and Working (Publisher job) in U.S? Do u have anything that u must come back to continue in Nigeria? If everything is movable including yourself. All your friends documents might not work.

Guys please I'm applying for a visa renewal using dropbox and would like to know if I can I submit it at any dhl office nearest to me or the designated one in Abuja?
Secondly, must all the printout e.g dropbox form, be in coloured print?

Thanks in advance.
I think it must be the designated DHL offices because they're the only one permitted to process it.

No one will help you here... go to U.S embassy website to know what to do and also read the part 1 to 3 of this thread.

Why would your friend want to travel without his family? unless its for a serious reason e.g. medical reasons, he should stay back pending when they can travel as a family. Its too risky.

plz I need urgent attention. my friend just gotten a family visiting US visa, but his family will not be going with him for now due to some vital reason, plz I want to know if he wouldn't have problem at POE? thanks

Thank you for your swift response.
However, in this regard I will state to cover my flight tickets. And yes, my books can be verified even via Google. My first book, African Dark Light, is a mythological book that was published in USA in 2016 by Inner Child Press LTD, New Jersey. The embassy can confirm this if they wish. The book is currently available for purchase on Amazon with good reviews from my American fans: https://www.amazon.com/African-Dark-Light-Chukwu-David/dp/0692673709
However, my friend neither works as a publisher nor as an author. He only works at the US Library of Congress cataloguing books in many languages. He is ready to send me his work contract and ID card. As mentioned earlier, my publisher here in Nigeria wrote a reference letter on my behalf letting the embassy know (as in a tie) that I will return to Nigeria after my research in order to sign the publishing contract, providing their official email ID, office address, and phone numbers for contacts. On the other hand, my American friend stated in the invitation letter: "I will personally make sure Mr. David leaves the United States upon the completion of his new book research."
Please, are these written evidences not enough? I will wholeheartedly appreciate your suggestion.

I forgot to inform you that the U.S Embassy does not check letter of invitation and please do me one favor.. read this thread from part 1 to part 3.

My good people here, I stumble on this three. A closed friend need urgent advise. He did is masters online and graduated last year August, the school has invited him and his family for graduation ceremony this May. He has paid the visa fees and filled the online form. Waiting for his interview feb 20. But something came up. Sometimes in 2003 his late uncle brought a lady from u.s and they did court registry. Along the line the visa wasn’t issued and no biometric then. He has actually forget that incident existed and couldn’t even remember what really transpired then. He has travelled to 7 schegen countries, and others. All he could recall was, the passport name then was okaka Alexander. But he has since been using another biometric passport which is okaka Alex Omo and the date of birth change too. He has already filled his form that he has never apply before and he has no body in u.s. nothing he can really recall in that 15years ago incident. He is doing well in Nigeria now. Please advise

Whew! Should I? Okay, no clear record of these pasts as long as the details you supplied above are not real but for instance.... He should go ahead as is currently, "fortunate" fresh start he got there by whiskers methinks.

I am from a family of five children. I am the number three of them. I am also a Literature teacher at a private secondary school here in Nigeria. I will be coming back for my job after seven days in the US. I will also be coming back to sign the publishing contract. I am single, just 21. My friend cannot hold me down in the States. He also stated it clearly in the invitation letter he sent to me: "I will personally make sure that Mr. David leaves the United States upon the completion of his new book research."
He is not a publisher. He is not an author also. He only works at the US Library of Congress, cataloguing books in many languages. I will happily welcome any suggestion and or advice you can give me in regards to this.

Oga sir, your chances are quite slim. I for one don't see you coming back no matter the "turenchi" here today, at least as of now! The VO however may have another and favorable view which of course surmounts mine most definitely. Best wishes though....

No, you can't use just ANY DHL office. There are 6 designated centres in Nigeria: 2 in Lagos; 1 each in Abuja, PH, Kaduna and Benin.

No too, they must all not be in colored prints, I however personally like and prefer to use the colored prints.

Thanks a lot for sharing your view. Please can I get some suggestions from you about how to make my application stronger?

Stronger? I don't have suggestions. Will only advise, build more ties; your career, add age, see other countries first as opportune, maybe marry, make more money.... Keep at your dream, there's a place for you at the top, reach for it in measured/planned steps and style. Regards!

How? Substantiate please....

Name as good as changed, DOB changed, no biometrics. All that equals no clear record again na, haba! I normally will ignore his kind of post! But will you watch this type whom providence has broken his kernels for just walk into wahala by himself, mostly out of ignorance? Mba, no.... He should worry more about the "Online Masters graduation ceremony" that he wants to "attend with his family" and the information he has put out here now than about his past record in itself....

Why taking risk? the system is getting more advanced similarities In name and "Facematch" can bring out his former application, risk that can cause him ban? They love being honest. Just saying

You are like Chinua Achebe while the publisher is like Longman. K

I'm actually impressed with your profile but the truth remains that only the VO will have the final say( God over all though)
The advice IL give u isn't different. Read the thread. Learn and build on how you can bring out the facts that favour you.
For example, being a lit teacher isn't that fab. Being a published with more in the pipeline is great. Find a way to gear the interview toward that. #myview

Anyways please check the migrant thread. This one is for I want to go and come back visa.
