Cosigning. I think this World Cup is Brazil's for the taking but Germany is gonna be another hot favorites.

However, I would list Argentina ahead of France. France has one of the most talented team in the tournament but they always underachieve. They are like the new Holland (the Netherlands).

And you call yourself a "lie detector", eh?

Bizarre people shocked

O pari

LieDetector:
I hadn't imagined that the incident yesterday would wear on up to this moment; even becoming a subject of discussion for the day. Let me also make it clear that I'm no Nacho hater. In the same vein, I'm not an attention seeker. I'm only a concerned fan who wants the best for these players.

With a copious number of young Nigerians plying their trades across various levels of English football, Nacho, Iwobi, Ndidi and Moses are the few I follow very closely because I believe they've got what it takes to compete at the highest level. I would be lying if I said I was happy seeing Nacho starting from the bench with a quite unknown Diabate preferred over the mercurial Nigerian. This made me to intuitively rate him higher than Nacho yesterday. To those always looking for facts, it's quite preposterous how you forgot knowlegde could be intuitive. I said yesterday Diabate must have put in a good shift at that position during training for him to have displaced Nacho. It's just common sense. Pray tell, if you were a manager of some sort with two distinct players vying for a particular spot, you would pick the less effective over the more effective.

Nacho is someone I would love to see spearheading our attack in Russia come june. Him being on the bench means he seriously needs to improve in certain deficient areas of his game.

And like I said yesterday, "I will rate those that deserve to be rated and slate those that deserve to be slated". If you're his relative and find my objective criticisms about him quite harsh, sorry cos the truth they say is bitter. If you choose to attack my person, oh well I'm equally lethal.

You made the announcement that Okazaki was injured and almost immediately, some one else remarked, bad belle

I then being presumptuous considered it to be a sense of celebration on your part.

But having now read your comments, I find myself in error because from what I gather from your previous posts, that was not your intention. For this I apologise irrespective of who is at fault.

Nonetheless, you do not make your intention clear and leave the reader to assume.

If we consider our context here and the possible advantage opportunity with regard to KC. Then it's not an unfounded assumption to make. i.e. celebration.

Having this in mind you should be sensitive to know, how easily an innocent informative post can become ambiguous and therefore misconstrued in this case as celebration.

Having all the permutations before us.

Of course, it did! What do you expect? Any team with Messi should be considered one of the favorites.

Messi is one player who can carry a team on his back to the finals, just as he did in Brazil 2014.

Mujtahida this should be your last response cos you and TheSuperNerd really surprised me.

I thought two of you are one of the most intelligents posters here but really disappointed cos least expected of you to continue in round hole discussion.

Pls leave Iheanacho issue with the two camps to sort it out, enough and let's talk football cos world cup is approaching.
Nooo baba Kog45. You see I am very comfortable with people having different views. I am not quarrelling with him. My language has been strong and forthright but no disrespect to him. We are just having cross views. If you look deeply you'd realise that for me this issue is not about Iheanacho. It's about freedom and a subtle authoritarian spirit, about space and constriction.

My point is simple: It does not lie in the mouth of anybody not even President Buhari to shut people's mouth just because they have a contrary view. I will oppose that person as a matter of principle with every fibre of my being. We must have liberty to discuss here. That's all. This is a public forum. I respect and cherish everybody. I mean no trouble. Do I support the naysayers? No! But that doesn't mean they should be stumped upon. I got my own hammer too. It's Thor's hammer for war to smash and blast every stronghold that seeks to muzzle free speech heregrin grin grin

Do you know that in Law if you sue me to court and for one reason or the other I was denied fair hearing the entire proceedings will be thrown out of the court as being a nullity. It doesn't matter that it's nonsense I have to say. The law permits me indeed gives me opportunity to come state my nonsense. If you block me be rest assured you will loose that case. Even if your lawyer is a senior advocate of Nigeria and mine is just a year old at the bar, I tell you that on that point of denial of fair hearing you will loose that case. It's that important. So let's have people talk. It's their God given right and no man, I repeat no man can take it away from them.

I don't need to prove myself. Go back and check my post.

I don know Ebuehi, Brian Idowu, Leon Balogun, Carl Ikeme Aina, etc tey tey before many monikers here and they are not English.

I can tell you Balogun 's position at his earlier stage of his career. I still remember one of his interview when he was still in his early 20s. Shift comot for road.

Is Sheyi Ojo a SS, ST, AMF or LW that you are comparing him with Onyekuru and Iwobi?

You see yaself? grin

So for ya eyes, Arsenal and Manchester City are bigger clubs than Liverpool? grin Chai! grin

Arsenal of all clubs!? shocked grin

Alex Iwobi was an academy player when he made his debut for the Super Eagles. He was never a first teamer for Arsenal before he made the Super Eagles team. GBAM!

SE ressurected and propelled the career of Alex Iwobi. The English under aged national team coach never rated him hence was ignored for invitation.

If he didn't become an international player with the SE, dem for down deem him surplus to requirement.

I remembered the game he shined for the Super Eagles forced Wenger to renew his contract. GBAM! EOD.

I am saying this for clarification sake and not to put down Iwobi. I don't mind we cap a potential FB or a FB that has worked his way to a big club bench. EOD

I thought UK breed are useless. So, Iwobi is from Somalia, ba? shocked grin

Give Chuba Akpoma two caps and if he eventually scores 2 - 4 goals, watch how Wenger go rush put am for first team.

National team promotes players career.

Look at the case of Ehizibue and Ebuehi. Who was the better player btw them? Off course,, Ehizibue but who is getting a better contract and club? Ebuehi. EOD

Sheyi Ojo didn't start the season with Wigan, he was sent on loan to Wigan on February 2015.

Now, ask yourself, how many games were left to play after he joined? 17 league games.

Meaning he joined at the middle of the season. If you add 17 games played before he came to the 17 games left after he came, it sums to 34 games.

Are you understanding now? grin

Now, how many games did he play out of the 17 games left? 11 games.

'Having made a number of appearances on Liverpool's bench over the festive period, Ojo joined Wigan Athletic on loan on 2 February 2015.[7] Five days later, he made his professional debut coming on as a 59th-minute substitute for Wigan in a Championship match against AFC Bournemouth, with Wigan naming Ojo as their Man of the Match after he had a positive impact on the game'

The next season, he was loaned out to another Championship team but was called back to Liverpool's first team. Just do your arithmetic as I did up there.

After that season, the next season saw him stayed at Liverpool but injury recked that season for him. I am talking about last season.....

By the way, we are talking about Liverpool not small small clubs. grin

Oga, Iheanacho flopped at the U20 stage. EOD

Na only Dele Alli you sabi? Shows you are ignorant about the facts on ground.

I you heard of John Fashanu and Ugo Ehiogu? grin

I have not mention Victor Banjor, Ross Barkley, Gabby etc. My friend, you don't know anything. grin

Who's this Ehuzibue? what position does he play and which club? answers pls

And he's "better" than Ebuehi?

Their names make them seem related though.

Kpom! Truer words have never been spoken.

For some reasons, Sergio Aguero never plays well for Argentina. He's one of the best strikers in the world but he never plays well for their national team. And Angel Di Maria is always injured when it comes to representing Argentina. He rarely gets injured when it comes to playing either for Real Madrid, Man Utd, or PSG, but when it comes to playing for Argentina he would get "injured".

Na so. I suppose it is truth when one paints a picture in its half form or rather sugar coated lie form and another brings it out in its full form and you tell me that you cannot tell the difference abi? So much for one who gives details on truth. Lol

Komekn comes out and will accuse our youngsters of being overage and talk down on their quality and he even said that Osimhen is warming thr bench and being left of of match day squads when the truth is that Osimhen was injured for a whole period of months and was not featuring in his first season at Wolfsburg. It took me and a few others to come up and tell him to stop turning blind eyes to the fact that Osimhen is injured... Guess what? Even after informing him of such, he still persisted in his "truth" of Osimhen being left out when it was so clear this Kid is injured and still recuperating....
I supposed that was "his truth" against mine right?

Also when Komekn said Osimhen had only played 10 mims of Bundesliga football and is thus not rated at Wolfsburg only for me to come up again and correct his lies by saying Osimhen had played 45mins + of Bundesliga football and it was mainly down to his injury and recovery period.... Gosh! Komekn's truth against Mine again right? I laugh really... You are just deliberately being blind to what truth is in this case by taking the route of the generalistic to please....

Even Egbon Forgiveness and I had to trash out a truth talk on Solanke and Iheanacho with facts from the 2015/2016 season... He didn't think Nacho had more goals in lesser time than Solanke... Facts and stats settled that... And we moved on from that and today we have a better understanding because he also knows better now how to go about some arguments here despite his passion to see certain players given a shot in the GWG. Some of his calls have paid off like Idowu, Ebuehi and Aina so far just to mention some. But on that Nacho/Solanke talk of 2015/2016... The truth won out.

So biko... Keep giving yourself a false sense of not knowing exactly what I talk about okay. What the pessimists hold here is not truth and can never be truth... Truth is owned by no one by it is also wielded by those who are brave enough to take it in its full form and wield it right without fear and without favoritism.

This is the path I choose on this thread .... And not a path for cheap likes or generalistic pleasing for all even in the face of obvious truth. Cheers on your path. wink

Truth is just an aside on this issue. It's an orbiter. The main thrust of my point is: whether truth or lies, positive views or negative views everybody must have their say. Chikena.

I don't like the 'truth' that shuts people down. That's something else using truth to gag human beings. I see right through such talk. Many people have been killed in this world by those who think they alone are possessed of the truth. The most infamous instance was that of John Calvin, one of the Protestant reformers and contemporary of Martin Luther who in cold blooded intolerance killed Michael Servetus. On what ground? John Calvin said God is a Trinity, Michael Servetus said No! God is not a Trinity. John Calvin had him burnt at the stake in a most horrendous way. That incident till date is a regrettable blight on the character of John Calvin.

I say freedom and respect on this thread. Yet I'd force it on no one. It's just my desire and I'm pushing it.

But what else does Townsend have

Now compare him to the players that converge good quality technical ability to Blistering pace and you see the real deal.

Gareth Bale
Mbappe
Dembele
Sana
Raheem
Neymar

Take away the pace and they become just very good players not some of the most expensive players in history of football.

I expected more depth from you to be honest.

What about debruyne sir? He doesn't have blistering pace but yet his skills and reading of the game is beyond this world!!

You can't say blistering pace is the determinant for man city winning this year....there is more to their game, no doubt blistering pace is always an edge in football if used rightly, after all according to you diabate has blistering pace, why didn't he cause man City a lot of trouble?

You are becoming parochial and loosing substance of the discussion. You are bringing in KC and Diabate that's not the central topic, that's a distraction.

The topic is BLISTERING PACE and how that attribute married to technical ability pushes you way ahead of the pack into top class.

Name the top 10 players in the world and within thier repertoire of attributes will be PACE amongst other exceptional attributes.

You are just twisting facts to suit your narrative. The point was not just about Blistering pace but you saying Diabate has the advantage because of his pace.

I clearly pointed out to you that pace is not the key to success. So I wonder the long epistle you are writing there.

It takes different gifts to make a quality player. It depends on who best uses the combination of his talents that makes the quality.

Hinging on just speed is hiding from the truth.

Neymar with less intelligence and skills, will not be the phenomenon he is. So did Finidi and Beckham not rely on pace to become legends.

Iheanacho is fast. He may not be a speed demon but he has other things ticking for him. From his intelligent passing, breath taking skills, ability to shoot from long range, Good in crossing, lethal finishing, mobility in the box etc.

So to give someone the edge because of pace is hiding from the truth.

Finito.

Despite Nigerians’ optimism, Lawal fears for Super Eagles
By Christian Okpara

•Siasia banks on friendlies for good outing
Garba Lawal is not given to frivolous talks . The former Super Eagles’ utility man chooses his words carefully and when he delivers his verdict , the wise are better advised to take note .
Lawal was at the unveiling of Nigeria Football Federation ’ s (NFF ) latest partnership , a N 450 million a year deal with NB Plc and despite all the accolades that followed the latest money stream , the former Julius Berger star had a word of caution for the managers of the senior national team.
“ I am worried that everybody is saying that Nigeria will beat Croatia , Iceland and Argentina at the World Cup just because of one friendly match. This is dangerous because if the players also believe in that line of thought , then we are in trouble .
“ I am not saying that we cannot beat these teams , but it cannot be done by merely wishing it . It can only be accomplished through hard work, ” he said.
Looking at the players available to all the teams in Nigeria ’ s group , Lawal thinks the Super Eagles are the weakest in the group .
“ Iceland has been up there in the last three years. We all saw what they did at the European Championship . Everybody knows Messi and Argentina ’ s super stars and then look at Croatia . All their players are in big European clubs , so it doesn’ t come any harder than that . But we can overcome them .
“ Our players need to be match fit and avoid injuries . Names do not play football , but skill and determination count . The team needs all the best players available for selection in good shape and psychologically prepared for the competition, ” he said.

While Lawal preaches caution as Nigeria prepares for the World Cup , another former international , Samson Siasia says the friendly matches lined up for the Eagles will put them in good stead for the challenges in Russia .

The Super Eagles will take on Poland, Serbia , DR Congo and England before the World Cup , which is scheduled to be hosted by Russia .
“ It is a joyful thing for every Nigerian that we have qualified and going to fly our flag in Russia but as we all know, World Cup is all about preparations , ” Siasia said. “ The coach ( Gernot Rohr ) and the FA need to do everything possible to carry out the World Cup plans . Fine , we have seen partnerships here and there but we need to do so much more.”

Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 122 6hrs 11mins days to go
While everybody is thinking sunshine for the SE, here's Lawal going dark. We need such people. They help us re-examine our position. They query our optimism and make us plan for what the star dust-filled eyes of optimism cannot see.
