But the goodjoe I hope you know that with the current trend and the way football is going players who do not have 'blistering pace' would be one out of a thousand ooo cos the overwhelming majority would have blistering pace. One time Fabregas complained that only athletes can survive today's football. Hope you don read that book.

Nobody knows it all. Freedom must be given to all to state even nonsensical ideas. Yes! That's their privilege as human beings and no one has the right to stamp on their persons in the name of 'we must only make sensible statements backed with facts and figures(yes because there's a way a man's opinion or viewpoint is attacked and he feels it is himself that is being attacked). You are a science oriented guy. Isn't hypothesis an opinion? Some hypothesis are right, some are wrong. In the face of wrong opinions correction is what is needed. But to say that only correct
ideas are welcome here is to my mind setting up a creed which will make us attack with religious ferocity those who have ideas and opinions that seem incorrect to us
Are we going to have only white here and no black? Even a regime of sensible ideas backed with facts and figures is abhorrent to my soul.

Even if one cannot stomach 'nonsensical' opinions (mind you what is nonsensical to you might be sensible to another person just as it is often said that one man's rebel is another man's freedom fighter) then one can as well challenge it but how we challenge bollocks matters. It is not until a man is told 'wakaa' that he'd feel insulted

Iheanacho is not a god. I heartily support him. In fact I get pricked when he's criticised but I do not subscribe to our creating a gang mentality where everybody must have the same opinion. That is fundamentalism, that is totalitarianism, that is how terrorism begins. Even in the face of facts people are entitled to their opinions because interpretation of facts differ from person to person. Our fingerprints differ, our brain patterns differ, our voices differ. So also our views and opinions. Let's loosen our grip on the need to be right and be seen as right to the extent that we cannot tolerate other people's opinions.

And its not correct to say that those who queried Sir Icon4s' intervention are people who hate Nacho. I understand what Icon4s said but at the same time the undercurrent sounded like he was giving approval to the way liedetector was hounded.

We should not say welcome to people when we cannot welcome them in totality particularly since this is a faceless impersonal online forum. What sort of welcome is this: I welcome you but I do not welcome your absurd opinions. If there's no liberty for them to state their opinions whether backed by facts and figures or not how can we discuss, how can those with wrong ideas be corrected? Congo4ka is one weird guy but I like the way he was corrected yesterday. But you will note that others still said they liked him. That's how life is.

We've all been guilty of attacking each other here but I have soft spot for newcomers. They should be handled with more sensitivity. Only God knows the many number of persons who can richly contribute to this thread that we have chased away. Would it not be better if sometimes we ask people the reason for their 'absurd' opinions and try and engage them?

And even if an opinion is wrong it won't hurt if we endeavour to correct it with the patience and the wisdom of those 'who know'. Elyte89 reaction is typical. He doesn't hate Nacho. He hates the sacred opinions, viewpoints and facts surrounding Nacho and he's decided to desacralize those ideas and facts just to infuriate those who are intolerably Pro Nacho. In a sense elyte89 wants to save Nacho and free him from the consequences of dangerous love.

I should not be misinterpreted as saying that I approve absurd ideas. What I am saying is that we cannot dictate to people the ideas and opinions they should state. I state my own. That's my freedom. You are permitted to disagree, you are permitted to interrogate my opinions, to challenge them. You are even permitted to state your own contrary views. That's your freedom. Igbos have a beautiful proverb which underlies their republican nature: let the Eagle perch, let the vulture (note that the vulture is a clumsy, gruffy, ugly, absurd looking bird) also perch. The one that says taaaa to the other, let his wings be broken.

I am pro Nacho but anti - siege mentality. I will end by giving this short anecdote which ends with one of my favourite quotes: Jean Jacques Rousseau was writing dangerous books, espousing ideas that threatened government, the social order and many cultural norms in 17 century France. He was wanted by the government. All over France he was a wanted man. He had no where to run to. Finally he decided to run to Voltaire. Upon knocking the door Voltaire welcomed him with the following words which have become immortal: I do not approve of the things you say but I will defend to my death your right to say it.

Cheers and love to you all.

Does Akpeyi even fit to appear in the picture? I don't think Rohr would even afford pick him as third choice in the last 23.

On this gk issue I think that by now we ought to come to terms with the growing reality that Enyeama will not be going to Russia.

As for me Uzoho it is. Let anybody take number 2 and 3 among the other goalkeepers we have.

This time is not about competition but playing under a system that will develop him at a fast rate to a top quality player. Build his rep and propel him to play on some of the highest stages.

Puel seems like a timid negative coach and I doubt he can create the right environment for Nacho to reach his potentials.

It comes to a point where the player has to adapt to the coach not the coach to the player.

What you are advocating is wrong advice. Three coaches in a sense have found him to be lacking Pep Shakespeare and Puel. And you are pointing fingers at the coach.

Wrong advice.

He needs to knuckle down and increase his attributes do more and force his way into the team. All this moaning will not help him.

UEFA Champions League has one of the most rousing spine tingling, melodiously inspiring anthem. That of FIFA is so flat. I think it's high time FIFA commissions a group of musicians to come up with an anthem that captures the world soul.

I don't mind Henry be added as the 3ed striker...being that musa gonna likely make the team....
so Henry can be registered as the 3rd striker coupled wit his abilities to play as a winger too....

the CF....should be ighalo, nancho and Henry....
while Moses, Simon, iwobi, Musa,Etebo can come in as wingers

It means we are going to the world Cup with 1 striker.

Oh my man you damn funny, not really, the 45 was culled from my first car plate number(045)

I thank God i did not reduced my age cos it paved way for me to be picked among my colleagues for a course in abroad.

I remain one of the very few Nigerians that never tampered with their age.

In my former office amongst my colleagues am the youngest with real age but officially oldest,a lot of them have their age supported with court affidavits.

This is one of the reason i always go against those who always criticising our players based on age cos many are guilty.

It's an issue that has been going on from donkeys ago possibly before we got independence.

When my Father decided to stone me back to Warri i was the youngest in my class in high school but the oldest officially too.

Age creation is across every facet of life in Nigeria, I know guys who got married and discovered too late thier wives where older than them. Whaaaaten u go do naa pikin don enter. Also it's not a biblical ground for divorce.

Unfortunately the problem is exasperated by European clubs who put huge value on age. So our guys have no other choice than to be creative.

Cutting 2,3 or more years is the difference between abject poverty or living large. What will you do So lets not be too quick to judge.

I know players from across Africa who are living large now but have shaved off 7/8 years from thier ages. It's not just in Nigeria please. But have no doubt the clubs know but take the view as long as thier is money to be made if you can prove it then it's true. No matter what anybody says.

It means we are going to the world Cup with 1 striker.
and that does not matter...provided the other two nancho and Henry can score goals as well even better than the lone striker....

don't forget nancho can also comfortably play as a CF....so no fuss there.

You are just twisting facts to suit your narrative. The point was not just about Blistering pace but you saying Diabate has the advantage because of his pace.

I clearly pointed out to you that pace is not the key to success. So I wonder the long epistle you are writing there.

It takes different gifts to make a quality player. It depends on who best uses the combination of his talents that makes the quality.

Hinging on just speed is hiding from the truth.

Neymar with less intelligence and skills, will not be the phenomenon he is. So did Finidi and Beckham not rely on pace to become legends.

Iheanacho is fast. He may not be a speed demon but he has other things ticking for him. From his intelligent passing, breath taking skills, ability to shoot from long range, Good in crossing, lethal finishing, mobility in the box etc.

So to give someone the edge because of pace is hiding from the truth.

Finito.

In the bold you have described a top class striker.

So can you explain why he is warming the bench and even at one stage struggling to get on it.

I never said pace was the key to success but the marriage of Blistering pace with technical ability pushes you way ahead of the pack. So do not misrepresent my opinion please.

truly its a national bane not restricted to sports alone too. A relative of mine had this problem of his wife using official age.
Fortunate for me government has my database and such won't work but a lot of my colleagues use 'football age'.

Etebo's chances have been greatly helped by his Las Palmas move cos me I don dey look him chances with bleak eye. The guy has great energy. Why doesn't Rohr give him a free role like say a box to box midfielder that would see him buzz with energy and drive our team
