Cadillac15:I put down my observation in my original post... Its not common place to see it push towards Full Bid, taking into consideration its recent history of persistent dumping and even more so not especially during this bear era, [and on a day that its FUGZ brothers suffered hits (including GTB with Full Offer)] When I made that post there was a bid:offer ratio of 11m:500k units (2:15pm) but at market close, there was only about 12k offers left... There could be something or there could be nothing #justobserving |

So after buying they will then automatically fly to N100? What if they crash further to N2 each after you must have bought around N8? You haven't seen where someone bought a stock very low for the stock to then fall into abyss? ukay2: |

GTay:Ok. The results has been submitted to CBN for validation since 28/01/18 and is due for release anytime soon. Its possible the CBN inspectors have seen a fantastic result and decided to load up for themselves. Remember how oando dried up 3days before the emir reconciliation news broke out. Its also possible that the dumper has been exhausted and its now time for the stock to reprice itself. |

First Bank of Nigeria Limited said its 894 quick banking, a USSD-based mobile telephony channel that enables customers to access banking services using any type of phone and without data or internet recorded transactions worth N1 trillion done by 4.5 million customers in 2017, a 250 percent increase compared to what it recorded in 2016. The bank said it plans to increase its customer base on the USSD platform to over 6.5 million before the end of this year, with over N3 trillion worth of transactions projected to be processed this year. According to FirstBank’s group head, e-business, Chuma Ezirim, over 60 percent of its customers currently use the bank’s digital platforms (FirstMobile, Firstonline, and 894 Banking) to transact accounting for about 21 percent of transactions on the NIBSS Instant Payment platform. Ezirim noted that a major element of the bank’s strategy is to make payments and collections easier for businesses around the country. Digitizing payment and collections processes not only improve transparency and efficiency but also helps a business to grow. “That is why our 894 service is very useful for our Corporate and SME customers because every Nigerian can pay using 894 irrespective of the type of phone he/she uses, and without the barrier of internet access.” Speaking on the impact of the bank’s financial inclusion services on customers and the economy, Ezirim said that in addition to providing FirstBank customers a more convenient and faster way to carry out basic banking transactions, the 894 banking service has led to the creation of over 500 new jobs for young Nigerians who assist customers to adopt digital platforms at the various branches of the bank nationwide. The 894 service is simple, secure, and easy to use, which is why the adoption rate by customers is very high. The channel is enabling the Bank to provide more efficient banking services to its customers and offers a cost-effective growth of the Bank’s retail and commercial banking businesses. Customers who use 894 are able to check their balance, send/transfer money to any bank account in Nigeria, buy airtime for themselves and for their loved ones, confirm payments, open accounts, and do lots more. The “894 Collection and CashOut” service is effectively designed for businesses to receive payments for goods and services, and to address their cash management challenges. BullBearMkt:Thanks BBM. However this isn't a true correlation. There are some parts they move off together, there are some parts NSE deviates from the oil price. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 8:45am On Feb 14, 2018 |
BullBearMkt:2005 to 2007, there is a negative correlation. 2007 to 2009, there is a positive correlation. Close to 2009 to 2012, there is a negative correlation. 2012 to 2015, there is a positive correlation. 2015 to 2016, there is a positive correlation. Around 2017, there is a negative correlation. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GTay(m): 8:47am On Feb 14, 2018 |
RabbiDoracle:Yes, especially in 2012 where they went in opposite directions ![]() Otherwise seems directly proportional |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 8:56am On Feb 14, 2018 |
RabbiDoracle:I think explanation to the negative correlation is due to policies that affected NSE while oil was trending up. 2005 to 2007, I think this was during banking consolidation. Correct me if I'm wrong. Close to 2009, SLS announced banks that were in distress. Around 2012, I think SLS was sacked. Early 2017 was when banks were being investigated for connection with minister of petroleum. Correct me if I'm wrong. Hmmm...that means if the policies were ok, they would have moved off with crude oil. Ok nauw!! |

MSCI MOVEMENT FOR 13 FEBRUARY 2017/GENERAL MARKET CO The fund made the 1st offloading move yesterday. You can see the effect in the %loss on the Allshare index. It was fairly higher than what we have been seeing in the past few days. That is the strength of monitoring what is the fund is doing for us all to see. There is no need to panic, we should let out stops get us out of the market. While we minimise committing further funds into the market till the bearish reduces. One of the factors that reduce the bear strenght is the fact that we are close to an earnings season. [b]I am enjoying following the major funds movement, it is news behind the news. If I am not able to analyse what the fund is doing on my own, I will not mind paying for this information. See what one would have saved be getting our earlier!!! Caution: This information is for educational purpose only, it is not an investment advise.

yok:I hope you are not working for these guys. Their figures still don't add up. Seplat sold only 10 units on the exchange yesterday but they increased their holdings by over 26k units. One day you will refresh that MSCI website and will get "Page Not Available". By then they are sipping "aligator" juice somewhere in the Caribbean. |
