The reason for calling is to get the SSN on phone after the security clearance. The SSN is usually mailed to the mailing address you gave on the form. I am talking about the process in El Paso , Texas.Standard mail 10 days.

Ok. The reason they are going to d office in Chicago is to cut down wait process to 6 days approx. Thanks again for clarifying your point.

Got ours after abt 11 days im LA. On day 10 pls call d number to find out if its ready. We did that and once they confirmed we picked up the next day
Thanks for giving me the lead.
I decided to call their LA downtown office to know how long it takes. The lady, after the basic questions...name, hospital of birth, etc told me that there are two options to getting it earlier than the 30 to 60 days.
1. Make an email request and get it in mail in about 3 weeks
2. Visit the LA downtown office to in person with my govt approved ID and get it same day. No appointment is required.
I told her that I'll be there on Monday but she said that would be a Public holiday. I'm heading there on Tuesday morning, God willing.
Again, thanks. I for dey here de wait. ..lol

Congratulations first of all.
I will say give it 2-3 days then locate the office that covers the county you had your baby and walk in straight there to enquire.
If it were to be Houston you will get it in very few days after birth.

Thank you. Unfortunately, only the LA downtown office can assist. So they told me as I called. I'll head there on Tuesday.

For the birth certificate (sorry I'm not tagging who asked about that), after 2 days of hospital discharge, just go to the bc office in your county. that's what i did and i picked up as much copies as i wanted.

I applied for nigerian passport last week Thursday, paid 77$ money order and went to the embassy yesterday for my appointment. passport was also ready as at the evening of the same day. Told them I was traveling immediately.
All I paid was that 77$ money order to innovate. since the passport is cheaper than VOA, why do so many people opt for the VOA? everything took me a week.
Thanks. I've called them and will be heading to their office on Tuesday to pick it.
Nigerian passports are issued in Atlanta or Washington (or so). I'm about 5hrs by air to these states. It becomes cheaper for people like me dat are far from these two states to opt for VOA.

It was included on the BC form in the hospital but since they said it takes 4-6weeks I chose to go to the office to process since its close to where I'd get the expedited passport too

VOA on arrival by cash in ABV is still $190

Thank you, read somewhere that card payment is $180. Wanted to confirm that as well, cutting off $10 too Na something

I really can't confirm cos I notarised in Houston after the baby was born. But I think you have a point, Alternatively, the husband could book an appointment at the embassy for a week after EDD (hopefully the baby will come on time).

Huge congrats Adedoyin.Thank God for yur successful waka.thanks for this info and update.I however want to ask abt the notarised consent for absentee hubby.pls correct me if am wrong but i think the hubby in Naija can only notarise consent after babys birth (in US) so doing it before the mother travels may not make sense or is there a way around it? Thanks. I also sent u a pm pls kindly reply.thanks

[Only God knows the criteria for getting US visa again now cos I don't get it anymore. My visa expires in January, many people told me to use it before expiry and I will be stamped. But because I like following due process, I said NO that I'll renew my visa, now see my life. I have spent up to 500k applying and travelling for visa interviews. The same thing I got in 2016 by just saying the truth this way, and even now my income has increased and the claim is I am not eligible. It is well!

[/quote]

OMG! Again..I have been following your story especially...so sorry to hear this...It's well...and you have been plain honest and truthful..

Hello house. I have an issue that I need help with please.
I can't retrieve my DS-160 application that I booked an appoontment with.
Error message I'm getting is surname and date of birth do not match.
Pls help!!!
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Jephehe: 7:32pm On Feb 17, 2018
If you are traveling home from the US but have an expired US visa, will you be detained at the airport?

Answer:

Absolutely not. Your US visa is irrelevant once you have arrived in the US. It is only permission to travel to a US port of entry and ask to be admitted. If CBP lets you in, the visa no longer matters; only the I-94 or whatever the CBP officer gives you regarding your allowed purpose and length of stay matters. You can enter the US on the last day that the visa is valid, and stay for up to six months (standard B2 allowance) or however long CBP says you can, and leave without a moment’s trouble even if the visa expired months ago

Remember, it's only the first 5 letters of your surname dat you need to enter- not the entire surname. Hope dat's not where the error is emanating?
Else, fill a new form and call or write the visa office requesting for a change in application code.
Good luck!

Create and fill another form and update the DS160 number on your profile with the new one.

Does this mean one can schedule an appointment before submitting the ds 160 form provided you have the correct ds 160 number

hello everyone. Urgent pls! A friend is supposed to appear for B2(Child birth) interview on Friday along with her mum but on getting there; the officials checking d names said the confirmation code on the Ds-160 didn't change as she has appeared before so she wasn't allowed in for the interview but they persuaded her to leave the mum to appear without her and she was so confused. eventually she left her mum to go in for the interview( virgin passport and even she wasn't the main applicant) lo n behold she was granted the visa without her.
Now she was told to wait 3 working days and she should log back on her profile that she should pick any available date and then go on emergency travel and scan d GTB receipt, doctor's correspondence, letter from the doctor and upload so she can qualify for emergency travel date as her edd is in march . Has anyone experienced this? pls share any info that can help. p.s. she has cancelled appointment once so am thinking she will need to pay visa fee again but no one is sure of what to do. thanks n srry for the lng story

It doesn't end there. You still need to call or write dem.
The new application code doesn't match what you have in your appointment confirmation letter. You'll be turned back on the day of interview if this is not corrected.

The change reflected in my appointment confirmation form, once I changed fthe DS-160 code on my profile. So I was able to print out a new appointment confirmation with the new code. However I have also written them as well to be on the safe side.

You can download the standard form from the US Embassy site and print. Please signing the form should be in the presence of the Embassy notarization official. You need to go along with your govt issued IDs

There really wasn't any need to write them, you already did and are through with the appropriate thing to do by current standard, relax....
