I don't engage the gear of my cars to reverse out of the compound until I am sure my kids are standing where I can see them. I don't even trust my house help to monitor them. Cos at the last minute those kids can remember something and run towards the car to tell me.

I am currently in katsina and i can testify that these people dont watch over their children properly,you will see kids of 3 or 4 on d streets,without supervision,kids of 6 or 7 outside d house after 5pm..if the parents kept this little child in the house more this could have been prevented,i genuinely pray that arewa in general learns from this,children should always be under supervision until they know wrong from right,where to stand and where not to stand,where to sit and where not to sit,where to go and where not to go,i can never forget the day a certain little girl wondered from her parents house into my compound and sat down near the gate,i saw something come in but thought it was d guy in the next room,she was on d floor close to the gate for atleast 5 hours.nobody looked for her,nobody searched for her,i and my friends were now the ones who went from house to house searching for her parents

The venue was the motor park opposite Akim Police Barracks in Calabar

I stepped in to reverse my car after dropping off a friend's family to travel. I horned twice and reversed the car, only for a 3 year old boy to run towards the car, without the parents notice. I hit him with the back fender, fell on the sand and saw people shouting towards me. Rather than press the brake, I accelerated but I thank God that he was in between the tyres and if I had driven further, I would have smashed his head.

I was shivering after that event that I couldn't drive again and called for my friends to come help drive the car.

I continue to thank God till this day about that unfortunate event.
