Those people claiming SS against Biafraa here on Nairaland are afonjas. No normal SS person will be against Biafraa considering after 50 yrs of being deceived.

How exactly do you know this?

Have you visited Ughelli, Uyo, Okrika, etc to understand the sentiments prevalent there?

Don't even go there, just add yourself to the official facebook page of these groups and avail yourself the opportunity of understanding the people sentiments and world view , stop speaking from position of ignorance and assumptions.
Stop setting Ndiigbo up for failure and ridicule from those quarters.
What exactly is wrong with you guys?

Pls go back and learn your history properly.

Don't throwaway your relatives because of few fools amongst them.

Nature has a way of bringing lost souls back to their roots.

Americans once hated the Europeans but today, they are one because they know that they share one common ancestry.

Your so called relatives in Efik has relatives in Northern Cross River, who have relatives In Benue, who have relatives in Nassarawa, and the chain continues Up to the Mediterranean.
Why are you so myopic that you see things only from your own perspective? You want to hold unto these people because they are your "relatives ", you fail to see that these people also have relatives in parts of Nigeria you don't consider Biafra that they too want to hold unto.
The end result is that you hold unto them, they hold unto Nigeria, and you end up being dragged into Nigeria.

Common sense dictates that the sooner you let them go. The faster you untangle yourself from the encumbrances that tie you to Nigeria.

Think.

Every body is related to everyone. The Igede and Idomas are neighbours and related to Tivs and Igalas, who are related to Jukuns, who are related to minorities in deep North.
So, where do you draw the line.

Until you lots drop this idea of creating another tower of Babel that failed in Nigeria in the name of Biafra, This Biafra dream will never really take off.

Limit Biafra agenda to Igboland, work assiduously to bring the Igboids on board.

This is my personal opinion.
i respect your opinion but I'm sorry I'll disagree with you, just like Eternal truth hinted out Biafra was in existence before the white man came, how is it that the igbos coexisted with those other ethnic nationalities without invading any of their territories?...because they believe to share same cultural beliefs and religious belief which makes them homogenous. Do you know that the amalgamation treaty was signed in itsekiri land and how come Frederick lugard always refer to this particular set of people as "the Great people of Biafra ".... google the ancient map of Africa and you'll notice that the territories of Biafra are well defined before the invasion...

Good setting yourselves up for failure. Don't learn from past mistakes. Keep living in fantasy world you created for yourself.
It's a common knowledge that border groups intermarry and borrow words from each other.

Abriba shares same with efiks, who share same with Northern Cross River groups, who share same with Benue groups, who share same with Nassarawa groups, do same with groups in Adamawa, Taraba, etc.

My question to you, is where do you draw the line?

You and your ilks had consistently refused to learn from history and he'll bent on repeating history, what exactly is wrong with you lots?
why don't you let the people decide their fate through referendum my brother...

Nothing changed if you ask me.
Igbo property were recently looted and burnt in Bayelsa over false allegations that an Igbo ritualist killed an Ijaw prostitute in a hotel.
Ijaws and other minorities have their own agenda, which is not a Biafran agenda. They suspect you more than they suspect Yorubas and the North.
Wish them well in their endeavors, if any of them individually want to associate with Biafra, welcome them, there is always room for naturalization , America welcomes all and sundry who identify with American dream, without adding their native nations as part of America.

We can have Ijaw Biafrans without having Ijawland included as part of Biafra.

Don't you think the minorities should be the ones demanding for such referendum for themselves, and not you for them?

Do you consider them too slow not to know what's good enough for themselves, that you had taken it upon yourselves to do things for them which they are more than capable of doing for themselves?

It is illiterate people like you that don't know that lots of Igbo communities are a blend of 2 or more ethnic groups eg Abiriba, Arochukwu and every border town.

For this reason, Biafra will definitely include interested ethnic groups that had ancestral relationship with us for the past 1000 years eg Ibibio, Annang, Efiks, Ijaws, Idoma, Igede, etc.

@ ContentedK don't mind him. He thinks we are fools that will abandon our ancestral neighbors.

Now I know you are funny.

So because of that incidence condemned by the Ijaws, you hurriedly concluded that the hate is still the same.

If Ijaws still hate us as they do in the past, Jonathan would have still being the President of Nigeria by now.

Think about my last paragraph.

What exactly is wrong with you?
What does GEJ have to do with it?

If you don't know, know it now that many Ijaws blame our support for GEJ as cause of his failure and so, blame us for embracing GEJ. Go figure.

I'd advise you Atleast look for an Ijaw facebook group and join, so that you can Atleast get exposed to the sentiments shared by the average Ijaw youths on this Biafran issue.

Stop living in fantasy world, stop seeing things through your own eyes only, it limits you and make your plans prone to failure. Try see things through the eyes of others.

Visit SS towns and find out what their commoners feel about this issue ,if you can't do this, atleast join their online groups.
But by all means, try and get a broader view of things.
Stop this narrow way of reasoning, it doesn't look good on you.

it baffles me how you're speaking for all this ethnicities like you're there spokesman... since the ones you've met are speaking ill about Biafra then you should know that the ones I've met are strongly in support of it cos it's their only hope for a safe future... let's wait for a referendum to know who's been interacting with the real natives from the so called ss towns...

I have carefully read all the contributions by all and sundry, and I must add that such healthy debate on whether Biafra should be an exclusively Igbo or Igboid nation comprising of all Igbo speaking communities in the SE, SS and elsewhere or if the new nation we are aspiring for should include the other minorities of SS or elsewhere. However, I must add at this juncture that there is hardly any country that is 100% homogeneous ethnic wise. Biafra of Igbos alone will be perfect but also, Biafra comprising of our neighbors will equally be good only if certain things are gotten right first and these factors includes
1. Are these minority tribes passionate about Biafra the same way Igbos are?
2. There is a constant fear of Igbo domination by these disparate groups and these has led to unnecessary hate and suspicion against the Igbos domiciled in their places.
3 This is similar to factor two above, Igbos alone will comprise over 60% of the population of Biafra, now add that to the enterprising, hardworking and aggressive nature of Igbos, don't you think these people will start crying of marginalization and domination irrespective of whether Biafra is made to be the most free country in the world? Or are we going to allow the same Quota system that ruined Nigeria to take place in Biafra so that the minorities won't cry of domination?
4. How are we going to resolve the Ijaw vs Itshekiri fight in Warri? This would certainly be a hotspot of potential violence.
5. Where would the capital be? P.H, Enugu or Owerri?
6. Based on population & democracy, Igbos will rule forever and the fears of the minorities of being dominated will be justified, how do we reconcile this?
7. If we chose to make Biafra an only Igbo affair, how do we reconcile the status of P.H? Parts of P.H is owned by Ikwere-Igbo while others like Ogoni and kalabari also have stakes, so do we carve P.H or abandon the city?

I believe in Biafra because I know that Nigeria has absolutely no future and will forever remain hopeless but we must be careful on the Biafra we want.

Please l need answers to my questions above.
