Some of the cartoons that are being mentioned were not shown on Nigerian TV in the '70s and '80s.

There were some cartoons that were popular in Nigeria in the '80s, but they were not shown on Nigerian TV. You could get these from video rental clubs like Cosmo and Videomart.

For example, Masters of the Universe, She-Ra, Transformers and Thundercats were very popular in Nigeria in the 1980s, but they were not shown on Nigerian TV until the 1990s.

Omo cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy This thread is wonderful. Takes me back to my childhood days. LTV was really competing with NTA 2 Channel 5 and NTA Channel 10 to win our hearts with Cartoons. LTV showed us Thundersub ( which I believe is a great story and Cartoon ), Speed Racer and other Bird Man. NTA 2 Channel 5 and NTA Channel 10 showed Super Ted, Voltron ( NTA Channel 10 and NTA 2 Channel 5 showed Voltron on different days of the week ), Sesame Street, Danger Mouse ( LTV aired Danger Mouse too ).

We should not forget that there were two versions of Voltron back in the days- Voltron with 5 Lions and Vehicle Voltron ( This Voltron was made up of different space cars containing many space explorers ). Cheers.

Thundersub, Speed Racer and Birdman were initially shown on NTA 2 Channel 5 before they were later shown on LTV.
