For submitting POF, how recent can the statement of account be? Can it be as old as 2-3 months? Also is there a significant risk if the account balance drops below the required minimum after the AOR stage?

Hi guys,

I'm very thankful to God because I've received the golden mail and I don't know how to celebrate!

My Timeline:
CRS 454
ITA Dec 6th 2017
AOR Jan 12th 2018
MEP Jan 26th
IP1 Jan 26th
NA2 Feb 1st
IP2 Feb 20th
PPR Feb 21st
Family of 3
No ADR
Visa Office: Ottawa

Some highlights of my application includes;
1. My POF = T-Bills(3months) + Generic Bank Ref Letter + 6months SOA + Gift of deed (100% amount from direct family). My total POF is in the T-Bills, explained this in my LOE.
2. Proof of employment = Reference letter (included NYSC experience) + Pay stubs.
3. There was a mistake in my spouse's name on our daughter's birthday cerficate, so I attached an affidavit (confirmation of name) together with the document to clarify this. Also explained this in my LOE.
4. Educational documents= Degree certificates + WES. I didn't include IELTS certificate although I registered the certificate number somewhere else in my application.
5. My spouse hasn't officially changed her name so I submitted our application with her maiden name. Our marriage certificate was enough proof I guess.
6. Passport photos = We took our final printed photos (50x70mm) from "Study 24" ahead of time. I scanned and resized it to the required specification (35x45mm) (using MS software) and used it for Post ITA submission.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head and I hope it helps.
Thanks to everyone that has ever communicated on this thread (names too numerous to list), it was very helpful!
For those still hoping for better IELTS scores, please try again and give it all you have this time.
For those still expecting the silver mail, please be very hopeful. Try to improve your CRS, while in the pool if you need to.
For those still anticipating towards receiving the golden mail, it will certainly come!
I'm wishing everyone here the very best and remember it will end in praise!
Congratulation grin

I stand to be corrected, SOA is to be for 6months. Best advised not to let your funds go lower than the required amount until the process is finished. Because you can never be sure if a case officer might want to enquire further and ask for further documents at any point in time. If you are asked for SOA say two months into the process, it will need to be an updated statement not the initial one you submitted. So if your funds go lower after AOR, it might be problematic

Hi, I'll advise that the date on SOA should be very close to when you intend submitting your application to prevent suspicions and ADR.

The risk of spending your POF while your application is in progress, is that you may get ADR for updated POF with a few days deadline. If the VO discovers that your POF is not up to the required, you application will be cancelled.

Try to keep a straight forward application to avoid issues.

The table clearly shows that more people with high CRS scores are diving into the pool in droves. For people like me with a CRS score of 432, its not really encouraging. bearing in mind that last year, when scores went as low as 413, there was no tie break rule which made total number of ITA's issued for a draw go over the 3500 mark constantly.

but as it stands now....

if i max out IELTS ill be having 441. but i already told myself the 4th test i wrote was my final...

Eni yara logun gbe....

just thinking out loud.

I think the rule (presumed, for me) is to submit most of your documents fresh, as e de hot grin. 2-3 months is a long long long time. Plenty things could have happened within that period, your closing balance now will most likely not be what that statement reads, could be significantly lesser or higher. Why not just do another when you're close to submitting, 2-3 weeks still fair but 2-3months is a push for me.

On the other question, some school of thought will say don't touch your POF till you get PPR (some even as far as till you land) but me, I belong to the other party that thinks a snake can swallow part of it as long as that snake will vomit it within a reasonable short time. Then monkey sef will follow swallow again, vomit too in a short time... The animals in the zoo can keep at it like that like that.

It is not necessary because the certificate alone is sufficient but if that would make you sleep better, please add it

1.Yes, you have to pay first cause you need the Wes Ref number for the transcript
2. I think you need a credit card and not a debit card(Iqas experience) i had to get a credit card from Gtbank

Thanks for the reply. The issue i have is that i did a payment for my brother and it went through. No hassles.

However i did in fact get a reference number in my email when i filled it the first time without payment. When i wanted to pay, it told me payment was successful and debited my account. My wes profile said to wait for 15 mins. But after over an hour now its saying that i havent paid in my profile.

If you are getting a reference letter from your employer in CIC format, request that they state that fact on the letter i.e. that you are paid in cash.
You can then add an LOE and reiterate the issue of being paid in cash and therefore no payslip.

Why can't you change the field? Drop down and change the country to Nigeria, the field for province will disappear and then you can enter the details of the address tied to your Gtbank account. You should be fine. Except there is something else that's wrong.

Thanks alot. Did that

There is no need for panic just yet, give it some more time and if its still giving same message, send them a message, if your account have been truly debited, they will sort it out

You don't really need to submit your bank statement.

Pls, I will like to know the document(s) your are submitting as POF regarding your mutual fund.

Thanks

Hello Team, please I have got some enquiries. I tend to worry myself more than necessary often for needless things so do not be pissed if my question sounds dumb.

While filling the come to Canada tool prior to obtaining the reference number(GC key) that was used to create the express entry profile, I suspect I inputted a wrong answer mistakenly at the point I was asked if I had canadian work experience[YES] which ofcourse I do not have.

I am quite worried and would love to confirm my answer before submitting the profile is there a way to go about this ?

Thanks for your responses.

I believe you are good to go if you can submit the reference letter in CIC's format (include your salary details in the letter). You can read this post too.

If you are yet to receive ITA, Delete your existing express entry profile....
Then use the Come to Canada Tool to obtain another key to create a new profile...
There are lots of other things to worry about.. like POF. This one is not an issue at all
