It can only be done after the baby arrives, not before.

Aibisoye0:

Please Can this be done before the child arrives or only after?

Doctors appointment is a document showing that you have a booked appointment with the Dr at such & such a date at such & such a time. It could form part of your Dr's correspondence, but not limited to it.
Dr's correspondence on the other hand is the email trail that has gone back and forth between you and your US Dr. It is suppose to include an acceptance by the Dr,his price etc

I have Doctors acceptance letter and correspondence but i don't have an appointment letter. Should i request for that? my interview is 13th of March.

Hello All

I am new on this thread and I tried reading the beginning but I did not find what I need.

I already have a B1/B2 tourist visa which I used last year for a wedding. Please can I know the documents I would have to show at the POE? I already read that the letter of Intent is not necessary. So asides the documents i have listed below is there anything else?

1. Letter of acceptance/ bill for the hospital
2. Letter of appointment from Doctor
3. Quote from doctor
4. Address of where you will be staying and
5. Proof of funds for all

Also, given the experiences here what are the possible difficulties I may encounter and how do I prepare for them?

Also, I am about to make contact with the doctor, please can I see a sample first e-mail?

Lastly, do I have to communicate with the hospital directly or can the doctor can be a middle man between me and the hospital?

I know I have plenty questions but pleaseeeeeee help.

Thanks

Haba this woman! Your question plenty o, but as you have apologized, let me try and tackle them one by one, lol.
Even though it has been mentioned here that it's not necessary,I would still advise you to go ahead and get the letter of intent.
In addition to the things you mentioned above,if you have a paid employment,I will advise you go with a letter from your employer stating that you are on leave.
Some Dr's include the hospital cost in their correspondence,if you are lucky to have one of those ,then it's ok,but if not you might need to get intouch with the hospital to get their quote also. So yes,the Dr can also be a middle man between you & the hospital.

Hello naira landers,
Finally my missionary journey came to an end three weeks ago. I had posted my POE Waka earlier on. I used Hnwmc and Dr xydas and the bills breakdown are
Dr 2000$
Hospital 2200$ (the 200$ fee was for an observation before LO came)
Collected the non indebtedness letter from financial counselor and a zero balance but no itemized statement, I'm hoping to get that too.
Pediatricians 728$ after an initial bill of almost 1500. I called them and stated I was given a quote for healthy baby package which should be applied and honored, eventually they did and I paid over the phone and my statement and zero balance came in the mail.
Follow up pediatrician visit 69$ each visit
Pathology 179$
Birth certificate 75$ paid for expedited services

Used Qatar airways and added baby ticket for 145$
Got a same day expedited passport 165$ and applied for visa on arrival which was approved after 24hours and sent to my email, Paid 190$ in lagos
It all ended in praise, and the boot has been hung finally

I don't think people answering your question understood it.

Does GT bank issue visa bank card for B2 or B1/B2 visa applicants?

Maybe you are mixing up visa bank card with B2 or B1/B2 visa

I think what she means is what category of visa (B2 or B1/B2) should she pay for when paying for her visa at GT bank. Because GT bank is the only bank in Nigeria where you can pay us visa application fee.

Hi all. I'm new on this thread. I have a few questions pls:

My visa application was rejected at the interview today along with my mum's own. While the interviewer didn't state the reason for the rejection, pls see transcript below:

VO: So why are you going to the U.S?
Me: To have my baby there(I applied for a medical visa, mum's own was tourism)
VO: Why did you choose the U.S?
Me: I know people who have recently gone there for medical care, and from my personal research..I decided along with my husband to give birth in the U.S to access the best medical care available.
VO: What do you do for a living?
Me: I work with so so....(an American multinational by the way)
VO: Do you have a doctor's appointment and budget sheet?
Me: Yes...states doctor's name and amount in budget sheet totaling about 15,250 USD.

VO: What does your husband do for a living?
Me: He works as so and so at so and so

VO: Can I see your bank statements?
Me: Hands over bank statements(just mine since hubby transferred money to me(total amount was about $19,000 USD; also hands over hubby's treasury bill statement explaining this can be liquidated).
VO: types on her computer and says I'm sorry, but you do not qualify for a visa at this around. Not even one question was directed to my mum.

I'm really depressed, thinking of applying alone this time around.
I used a travel agency, waste of money and time.
Please can anyone advice on what to do differently this time around; thinking of applying for emergency appointment and doing it myself this time. EDD is in May.

Hello all i am new to nairaland. my situation is.. i live and work in Qatar with DH, i travelled to nigerian to apply for a US visa with mom as i would be due in may.
my interview (Feb 15 2018) 7.15am Abuja
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning with a smile
Vo: why would you like to travel to the US
Me: To have my first child
Vo: do you have a correspondence from the doctor
Me: yes.... gave it to her
VO: how much is your trip going to cost
Me: over 19000$ handed over the budget slip as well
Vo: do you have a bank statement
me: Handed over my bank statement, DH;sbank statement (both Qatar, Nigerian and Domiciliary)
VO: you going with your mom?
me: Yes to help with the baby
Vo: Looks at DH pay slip. is he paid in Dollars?
me: no in riyals
Vo: oh!
me: we live in Qatar
Vo: so why US then?
Me: For better health care VO cuts in but Qatar also has a good health system
Me: Yh and for the bonus of dual citizenship
Vo: Types............
sorry you do not qualify for the visa and hands the green paper
my mom wasnt asked any questions.
we were denied on the basis of 214(b): stating i do not have strong ties to (not sure if it was home country or foreign country)
Section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. US law places the burden on. Nonimmigrant visitor visa applicants (B) must show that they have a foreign residence that they have no intention of abandoning and are visiting the US temporarily for business or pleasure.

i would like to reapply, at the end of this month. my question now is
1 strong ties in Qatar or in Nigeria?
2 Can i reapply from Qatar(alone without my mom for now) as traveling down to nigeria to reapply might be difficult
3 Can i use DH domiciliary account from nigeria since it is in dollars
4 what document can i use to show strong ties (i work here so does my husband, all documents to prove this i took to nigeria but the VO never requested for them)

Thank you in advance

Reapply in Qatar without your mum .. I honestly think you shouldn't have come to Nigeria in the first plc..
Use your husband's dorm account since it's in USD(take his pay slip as well).
Your job should also stand as a strong tie in Qatar cos that's where you live and not Nigeria + that's where your husband is as well and you won't be going with him to Yankee..
So your husband and Ur job is enough ties .. I think

2)Yes,you can reapply from Qatar alone, and if granted, your mum can also reapply from Nigeria with a copy of your visa.

4)Same document I guess, letter from your employer. Evidence to show that you are married and that your husband is staying behind etc
A very important factor I think is your reply to the question ' why give birth in America' I think your answer should be straight forward and truthful ie for dual citizenship, because they too know that's the reason why 99.9% of us make the trip. Best of luck.i hope you get it in Qatar.

Hi dear becump n other experienced mum n dads who have got Nigerian passports for their LOs in the US ....pls i want to find out if i can get Nigerian passports for my LO from the New york Nigerian immigration office or is it only in Washington and Atlanta as i intend visiting New jersey after birth and its close to New york? thanks for ur kind replies!
Bcpump:

The only money order was the 77$ used to complete the application. I paid no other thing.
some people paid 27$ at the embassy for them to mail the passports to them.
But 77$ is the only cost to get it here in Washington. and it is paid before even coming for your appointment
