Feminists on Twitter are currently dragging boxing champion, Anthony Joshua by his balls, over the comment he made in a GQ magazine interview he granted in 2017. In the interview, Anthony who is currently single but has a son, told the interviewer that he is more strict on his niece than on his son because he believes his son, Joseph, will grow to become a man's man but that his niece will someday become someone's wife and so he must instill in her some values. When asked if he is a strict Dad, Anthony said

I don’t think I’m that strict with Joseph, I don’t know why. But with my niece I’m strict. I think it is because she is older, but also he’s a boy – he’s going to be a man’s man, he’ll want to spread his wings, be a Jack-the-lad, build his character. But I am sure there are things I will be strict about. But with my niece, there is none of that Jack-the-lad nonsense for her! My view is you have to be a good woman, respectful, one day you will be someone’s wife, you have to learn family morals… what it is to be a good woman'' .
This apparently did not go down well with the Feminists who argue that his comment has shown his misogynistic side. See the twitter exchanges below

I don't think the issue should be him wanting his niece to be a respectful woman [who wouldn't want that?], but him not ensuring same values are instilled in his son.

He reinforced the opinion that female kids are more trained than their male counterparts. The males just have to be men, that's okay. The women can also lazy around, just have good family morals. These male kids grow up to be a "man's man"...deficient of basic family morals, and we expect them to be good husbands to the respectable lady.

How long will that work? Both genders are already getting tired of shouldering deficient spouses.

Anyway, it's his belief.
I can only pray it benefits the parties involved.

That's how it is around here. From the way you walk, talk, sit, look, cook...wash plate, break plate, etc... they start reminding you it won't work that way in your HUSBAND'S HOUSE. So, you better readjust.

I don't think he meant harm though, after all if he had said he is training his son to have good family morals...those females would praise him [and the males would have asked what of the niece]. Maybe because it's not the norm or they are all bunch of selfish people

do men and women require the same amount of home training. I believe that to be the question here and even though I think he didn't put it out in the right way the truth is painfully yes. Men don't get pregnant women do all some of u need to is go to a brothel and come and see how early pregnancy caused some women to end up being olosho. the average female child is more prone to sexual molestation and harassment than the average male child.

a female child will find it much easier to get laid than a male child.

it is quite sicking when western women think their role in life is to destroy men,the truth is there society is failing and still they can't see it.for the record we Africans most especially Nigerians stand strongly behind Anthony joshua,we do not see anything wrong in what he has said because we understand the importance of women and the role they play in the molding of a society by molding the home which produces the society not a western idea that allow tv and hollywood to mold their children rather than wifes .

Do Naija men even know what the feminist movement brought to this world? Women working to earn a living. So if you are a man looking for a working woman, but hate "feminists", then you are complicit in this movement. Why not get you a housewife and stop complaining about anything. Don't do business with women at all, like visiting female doctors or lawyers or pharmacists or bankers or engineers. Afterall, women need to be in the house only nurturing and taking care of your kids while men go and bring the daily bread home, right?

Don't be two faced or hypocritical. You cannot be anti-feminism yet be a party to why it existed in the very first place then. Just my 2 cents.
