As long as one individual is restricted from doing something(social, political or economical) because of the gender he/she is born with then all the goals of the feminism agenda has not been achieved and you're talking of more than one nation, c'mon.

About three years ago, I and a couple of my friends started a company that creates school administration portals for various private schools in Abuja. Three guys and I. And although I was the best web designer (HTML) and did more of the Content development, whenever a new client came in, they mostbtimes preferred talking to the guys about my area of specialization. Why? Because I have a pussy and can't actually know much about programming now, can I?

Another instance:
The last week of January this year, I was attending a networking seminar where I thought advanced networking like the use of Kali will be explained in details. Instead, I was stuck with a bunch of guys that made crimping of rj-45 look like a godlike feat. Since no knowledge is a waste, I settled in with my wire and connector and crimping tools:

1. The first instructor assumed another 'man' helped me crimp a straight through cable because I was done in 10 minutes.

2. The second guy told me to my face 'What are you doing in a man's world?'

I have a BSc in Computer science, Comptia N+ certification and CCNA 1 and all that didn't matter because apparently, dick is one of the tools needed to connect a couple of system and help them communicate.

I could have taught the seminar better than they did but no one will take a bunch of females that want to organize a standard networking tutorials seriously.

I can list over 20 different scenarios where I was not taken seriously because of my gender despite my intellectual capabilities.


Inheritance:
How many Nigerian men will pass on their inheritance to their feme children without fear that it will be collected from them by male uncles?

Please count how many instance of such victimization of widows and orphans simply because of their gender. Don't worry, I'll wait.


I'm sure you don't live in the north. I was born in Maiduguri to a school proprietor so talking about the ratio of male:female children getting educated in northern Nigeria before the advent if free education scheme by president Buhari is not something to be said on a public forum.

Most girls are made to go and sell while their brothers are in school.

Most girl marry at the age of sixteen and can't continue their eduction because it is believed that a woman's place is in the kitchen and in the other room. There is no equal access to education by both gender because a male child is presumed to be better and so needs education.

And other gender specified questions. What if my husband is an excellent chef that loves to cook? Will my kid then be wrong to say daddy?
What if my husband decides to work from home and take care of the kids while I struggle in the corporate world?

What if my husband is a PhD student and he is still in school while I provide for the family?

Is this the kind of ideas we need to inculcate into a little girl during her formative age under the guise of social studies?

That all her formal education is just to fulfil all righteousness and the one place she should pay the most attention is when mummy is teaching her how to grind pepper?
