That is all the op said, she accepted her mistake and is advising unsuspected buyers not to trust them nor their report, I for one learnt and will never go near their purchase lot
Ps I try to sell a car to them once, I have concluded you can only sell a car to them if you stole it or if you are too desperate.

Well said. I have an old Pathfinder I tried to dispose off a while ago and after being tossed up and down by the roadside display guys I decided to try out the Cars45 guys. I was surprised that they offered me 300k for a car that I valued much higher than that. I simply drove it away. It was far more worth my while to give it out to someone who needs it than to sell it at forced sale value.

As farfetched as it may sound or appear, I am not usually sympathetic to victims of scams. For the majority of (if not all) cases what fuels the victims vulnerability is raw greed which at its peak will not and cannot objectively appraise a proposition. Little wonder that they find it very difficult and disgraceful to share the experience. The typical 'whiteman' who falls for yahoo boys is a personification of greed and totem pole of ignorance who also exhibits indescribable bouts of illiteracy in a literal sense.
An exception could be made for a few who have emotional imbalance issues which is clearly evident among the older folk of the feminine gender who are preyed upon by these leeches with promises of adventure which they have only dared to dream of.

Sir, the earlier we accept responsibility for our decisions, the sooner we learn from the experiences. Blaming scammers does not reduce the number of practitioners, occurrences and victims. Even law enforcement can only dissuade albeit very unsuccessfully this epidemic that is wholly self inflicted and mostly a direct reflection of our carelessness. 'Mia Culpa' should be your motto at all times. And remember 'if it is too good to be true.......!'

I am already seated sir.
Whether standing or sitting or indeed taking any other posture it is imperative that you know that a man makes more progress when he is able to look back at his mistakes and then make amends to avert a future recurrence.

Brooding or remaining bitter is not progress bro. Niether is abuse or wallowing in self pity.

Move on bro!

This is how slow ur brain is...

Firstly, I didn't open a thread to complain abt cars45... I only responded here cos their aganet of doom came here and defending an obvious scam...

Secondly, you really need to get your head checked for saying I'm bitter over what?

So you'd rather I keep quiet and allow that bastard spoon feed people with the lies he's bringing up to cover their scam activities ?

If your car was very healthy. They will price it well.

Its only in nigeria people want to sell old cars for almost the price they bought it.

This pathfinder of yours must have been used by multiple people in america.
It was also shipped here to nigeria at a fraction of the cost probably salvaged.
You've used this car and flogged it.
Used 20w-50
With probably connected fans.
Maybe not first body.
How much do you really think you want to sell it?

300k is a fair price for all this old jalopies . you're lucky someonr wants to buy it. You should have accepted the offer quick.

That car of yours from abroad in the same condition wont sell for more than $500 .

People buy $300 cars that are 10 times better than this nigerian used cars you people have killed.

Were you expecting to be offered a million?

Lmao grin

Hilarious as your post is, I must admit it does contain some kernel of fact.

I only found out after the car had been used for 3 years that it came in salvaged.

The body was very susceptible to rust as was posted in many reviews by previous owners.

The chassis had serious rust issues and had been welded in many positions.

The engine was great though and the interior was sparkling. The AC was faultless and the body was spotless. Incidentally, cars 45 never gave it a proper appraisal. Methinks they were were more driven by the demand/supply dynamics of the brand rather than the state of the car. I could also be wrong but my observation that day was that there was a twinkle in their eyes when more attractive brands were presented for valuation.

Finally my mechanic bought it off me for 850k. Everyone is happy.

You don't have to believe me.

Unfortunately, I can't help you there.

We all have our freewill and decide what we choose to believe. And it doesn't really matter what you believe.

I do not need validation from anonymous posters on a public forum. The car was evaluated by Cars45, the valuation wasnt satisfactory as far as I am concerned and I sold it to my Mechanic who is still cruising it.....maybe even enjoying it.

He is happy, I am happy.

They have a way of doing that, undervaluing when they are buying. My sister took her Toyota Avensis 2005 which was in near tokunbo condition to them, the monkeys priced it at 450k! She eventually happily sold it to a colleague that uses it in the same office for 1.4m...he is a happy buyer.

In a nutshell, they are fraudulent people!

Hey guys, I need a Nigerian used Toyota tiny light/envelope to buy. Location should be Lagos, Ibadan, Ogun State. Budget is 550k thanks.

Any one with anything similar should quote me back thanks in anticipation

Whether you believe her is of no consequence. A car owned and driven by a lady in Nigeria is buying at your own risk. And they are not buying on credit. Ask your sister if her colleague has finished paying for the car

the bolded is not new....that's what they do and it's their business model

the only thing they offer that the open market doesn't offer is instant cash

even if u take ur car to a dealer,or to owode market to sell, since they are not end users the car will always be priced below its market value

how is this fraud tho?

the onus is always on the car owner to sell or not

non-disclosure is fraud...frankly speaking,and that's why the op has a case

but as I av said on this thread earlier.......buying a used car is a huge risk without due diligence

There is no fraud being perpetuated here.

If a report states *GEAR NOT SELECTING*, how much knowledge does an intending buyer need to know there is a possibility of a transmission replacement?

But did the initial report say it was converted? or thats not an important detail to mention?

Haha. The only naija used car that I will ever buy is a range rover and not the run down the mill cars that nigerians have destroyed before trying to sell it off. The op showed the front pic of the car and the report and according to her, after 4 days it was ready for business. The mechanical report of the car is 89% and the car overheated on the 2nd day of uber business. Why did it not overheat on the day the uber driver took it away? Did the driver check the coolant level? According to the op, she never told us if she changed the oil or flushed the coolant for a car that has been on the lot for sometime now. They took the car to a rewire, who in the process of trying to tropicalise the car found out that it was already tropicalised and decided to undo the first to impose his own method on the car which results in too many wires. I have checked a corolla and I did not see the space for too many wires. The experience of the op can never fall on me, maybe on you because you are prone to bring a driving expert to come and inspect a car for you when the rules says that you should bring a mechanic along.

Most people do business or patronize people based on reports and trust.

If a report on a car is 100% accurate, what's the essence of inspection, I guess, just to check the exterior...
If the exterior is satisfactory and based on trust I do not need further checks on the car but quite bad that we live in a society whereby you even recount your money after bin dispensed by ATM, no trust at all....

Whoever is counting his cash after atm dispensal does not trust himself. Nigerian used cars should never be relied on because the owners always cut corners with the maintenance while it is theirs, looking for short cuts. And when they are selling, 90% of us are not selling because we bought another car but because the wahala on car matter is becoming like a devourer in their finances, they offload the car to others for their peace of mind and cars45 are there to take that wahala from poor maintenance crew. Feelers from their vineyard says that they will now refurbish the cars before reselling

Ode, that the driver took the car on sunday does that mean he started work that day?, does he not have to go reg with uber and taxify and link the car to this platform seem it wasnt use on the platform before
Also so you are contradicting yourself you say cars45 is not a fraud yet you say dont trust their report take an expert when going. U go soon buy the range rover and please buy from cars45 you deserve them
