superhumanist:You don't know me. Those who know me here know my worldview over the years, they know from manybof my posts. That's a stupid conclusion. Its acceptable though with your level of bigotry. I'm not questioning your belief so don't get worked up. I'm simply interested in pointing out the obvious flaws of atheism. 2 Likes |

The truth is most of the self acclaimed atheist especially the ones here on nairaland lives in the reality of the holy spirit without even realizing that. But we all should regard one another irrespective of one's believe and not necessarily force your believe on people but convince them in the best way you can. 2 Likes |

Winner01, your argument is like saying a car mechanic should deal with bad roads, getting drunk and high while driving, receiving calls while driving, tailgating, night driving, rain, fog, one-way driving, reckless driving, potholes etc since they also cause road accidents and not just faults in cars only. We know those are not the concerns of a car mechanic. His imperative responsibility is to make sure the car is fine and fit on the road. That is why he is a car mechanic, and not a 'cause-of-road-accident mechanic'. Atheism by definition is the rejection of beliefs in gods and the supernatural. Defending and affirming our stance, i.e arguing all religious beliefs, is what defines us. Our definition doesn't say we take care of all the problems of humanity. And atheists, like other normal people, deal with other human problems like the ones you have mentioned. We just go one step further by questioning religious beliefs. And that's what makes us different from normal people. It is our 'responsibility' or 'defining deed' to question religious beliefs. That's what we are for. And you can't blame us or give us credit for not arguing or arguing politics, and other areas of life, with respect to who an atheist is. That part is expected of everyone and even atheists do them. Your post is spurred from shallow reasoning and a misunderstanding of who an atheist is. There are many false statements in it. Your post won't worth Austin's recommendation as Seun suggested, except if, of course, the guy is under the influence of shallow reasoning too. And I won't be surprised as per being a theist. 6 Likes |

Pr0ton:Yeah right, more than 90% of the worlds population are dunces. You are the only rational beings Pr0ton:Coat it all you want, real atheists lack a belief and they don't scavenge religion sections to accuse religious people of opining their beliefs to them. How am I opining a belief to you on a religion section? In your stupid logic of lack and reject, I can further include "attack" and you'll still be on your same stance You're lonely man, go get help. Pr0ton:Atheists don't question any other thing apart from religion and most certainly, they don't question atheism. This is why you spend your life on a religion section accusing religious people of opining their beliefs to you. This is what we observe and keep observing. Question marriage, question atheism! 2 Likes |

winner01: The very notion of Russell's teapot is an example. It is an argument against atheism also. It is an agnostic argument because it posits that we can never disprove if there is a giant teapot in space even if it is highly unlikely. The same way we can never disprove God existing outside the universe even though it is highly unlikely for him to exist. This stops some atheists from saying that they can disprove all god's. Some atheists are agnostic towards certain god's. 3 Likes 1 Share |

superhumanist: Your mumu don do. Russell's teapot is an analogy, to illustrate that the philosophic burden of proof lies upon a person making unfalsifiable claims, rather than shifting the burden of disproof to others. Russell specifically applied his analogy in the context of religion When person call you senseless now you will start complaining. You no get sense at all at all. Isn't it atheists who claim they should not be asked to prove a negative? Even at that the very purpose of Bertrands analogy has been disproved because WE CAN PROVE A NEGATIVE or DISPROVE it as it were. But somehow atheists never believe that they can actually show proof for a negative. So they always attempt shifting the burden of proof to others despite also making claims of their own. Such grandiose proportions of dishonesty. 1 Like 1 Share |

winner01: From the article, In 1885 Robert G. Ingersoll, popularly known as "The Great Agnostic", explained his comparative view of agnosticism and atheism as follows: The Agnostic is an Atheist. The Atheist is an Agnostic. The Agnostic says, ‘I do not know, but I do not believe there is any God.’ The Atheist says the same. Don't atheists on this forum frequently express similar views? |

CoolUsername: An agnostic is not necessarily an atheist. An agnostic is simply a skeptic. What they say is that "they don't know if God exists but they are sure Yahweh does not exist". Such a foolish comment. 1 Like 1 Share |

winner01: This is you just being dishonest. Atheism is the lack of belief in God. If an atheist can assert that he doesn't know for certain that God doesn't exist then he must have at least pondered the question. 1 Like |

vaxx:Was about to too. Though, I speak not for all people called atheist. Still here goes: I do not believe that gods do not exist. I know that gods do not exist outside of the minds of those in whom they do exist as figments of the imagination. |
