Bible is not against prostitution. We have many cases of where prostitutes were not punished for their act but were rather blessed. Jericho story and Amos comes to mind.

The case here is witch. Should Christians spare with witch? Are those Christians killing witches in the Eastern Nigeria not following the instruction in the Bible? Their argument was backed with the Bible. Are they not Christians?

You were blindfolded and had no idea where you were but then put in a giant bus/trailer that has everything that you want- food, TV, video games, swimming pool, hot girls (who will obey your every command) , and so on, whatever the heck you want. Then they removed the covering on your eyes, and told you that you could do whatever the hell you wanted, but when the bus gets to where its going, you're going to be blindfolded again and taken somewhere. You worrying, or feeling depressed about not knowing where they'll take you is not a logical thing to do, because it doesn't affect wherever they're still going to put you. So the best thing to do is just to have a good time and hope for the best. (And be gentle with the girls )

I hope you get my point now. Just do whatever the hell you want to do. If you're worried about the afterlife, some smart dude put all religions and ideologies into a sample space, and mathematically/statistically calculated the best possible one. Guess what? "Good deeds" came out on top.

And as the answer to both of those isn't certain, (you can only call it certain when you can prove it objectively) then there's no point being sad and confused about it, and instead focus on the journey.

At the end of the post, with respect to whatever possible afterlife there could be, "good deeds" came out statistically as the best choice. Anyone can back evil with religion, marriage, politics etc like I indicated in one of my recent threads. Also Christians don't always accurately understand or represent the teaching of scriptures and that's okay. Jesus would never hurt a witch rather would try to show him/her the way in love. The Bible didn't say prostitution is wrong. In many cases where prostitutes appears in the Bible, no where it is mentioned that it is wrong. Even God asked Amos to marry one. The lne in Jericho were spared. Another one washed Jesus feet with her hair. If these were wrong, the prostitute would have been rebuked.

You made a ridiculous observation, to be honest, because even with the analogy you failed to grasp the basic concept I explained to the op. Nobody goes on a journey without thinking of the destination, but when you're 'kidnapped' (nobody was born on earth of their own free will) and being taken somewhere you dont know, all you can do is hope for the best instead of worrying about where you're going, and do the best, statistically reasonable thing you could do to make your destination a pleasant one. And while at it, make the journey as comfortable as you can for yourself. I don't know why this is so hard for your mind to grasp, probably because its already infused with Christian teachings and is closed off from anything contrary.

The bible verse you quote does not rebuke or say anything ill about prostitution.

Did you know only the prostitute in Jericho were spared when the city was destroyed? Did Amos not took unto himself a prostitute as instructed by God? You can please point to a place where prostitution is disallowed. Jesus was silent about it too.

The people who lived during the mosaic law didn't know anything about Christ and so how could you even call them Christians? Are you this desperate?
Also the mosaic laws given by Moses were social, ceremonial and ethical, God didn't necessarily approve of it. I proved in the thread below that Jesus confirmed that some laws which were permitted by God to the old testament characters was not necessarily approved by God.

Christians anywhere in the world can do anything they want. The great thing is that most historians know the kind of life Jesus Christ (whom all Christians emulate) lived.

Jesus won't burn anyone in hell. Sinners are in danger of hell. You automatically choose failure if you decide not to succeed. You choose hell by rejecting Gods love. You can make a decision to do anything, just be ready for the consequences.

You still don't get it. The verses you quote still doesn't negate the act of prostitution, not one of the verse is close to negation of the act. It rather speaks focus more immorality. Maybe you don't know, there is difference between immorality and sin. The later is a wrong against the divines while the former is wrong against social norms.

A quick example...it is wrong morally for a child to smoke cigarette. But that same stick of cigar can be lighten up by adult and smoked up. To an adult, it is morally and legally right to smoke. Anyways, smoking isn't a sin.

Another case is drug deal. It is morally wrong but not a sin.

Prostitution is a sexual immoral act which the bible at no point mention that it is a transgression away from the divine law. Jesus was silent when a prostitute washed her feet with her hair. Normally, the jew saw that the prostitute is into a immoral business and wanted him to rebuke her which Jesus rather remained silent.

If prostitution is wrong, God wouldn't have asked Amos to marry one.

There is nothing like mosaic law. The laws were directly from God himself. The tablet that has the 10 commandment was not written by moses, they were from God.

Maybe the law of God is flexible. Maybe the old laws are not valid today. But our pastors quote the same from the out dated mosaic law to furnish their tithe teaching.
