My observation leads me to either of these:

Taxi driver is brain dead, he charges for his services, but can't buy 50 naira detergent to wash his clothes.
Taxi driver, drove around Kano as large as it is, searching for a random guy, while FUELING his taxi with WATER because its FREE.
Taxi driver has computer-like photographic memory. He could remember the face of a random person he saw just once.
