@Ysteph i do believe in self reading and research as much as anyone here. There are better way to politely refer people to page 0 and i have seen people helping others with a link.

Well, everyone will be happy at the end of the day but remember no one will ever forget how u make them feel.

so finally we all agree that it's okay to refer people to page zero.

It's actually better to refer to page zero than to waka pass. For those people actually following the thread, the repetitive questions get very boring. It also makes the task of catching up (for those who want to catch up from page zero) difficult and uninteresting.

Nobody is obliged to any other person on this thread. There are a lot of people who are silent readers, they take all the info they need but will never type a word. People have gotten ppr through this thread without ever commenting.

There are others, they don't know but want to help. Sometimes they give wrong or incoherent answers.

Now the so called 'seniors' are people who know, and who like helping. If they don't have the info, but they'll do research so they can answer you. There's one particular one, she will write a full, detailed essay for you. Whenever they give a response, you can go to bed knowing you have the right information. They've studied this process to the extent that they should be made honorary VOs (and in a certain persons case NOC just has to employ her o).

Biko, don't be angry, love them or hate them, these 'seniors' have earned the right not to waka pass. Especially if a question they've made effort to answer before is being repeatedly repeated. I even find their sarcastic answers more interesting than reading repeated information.

Please find below extract from her application......this should address your questions. She is currently shopping for a one-way ticket to Cannyland grin.....Please check the terms of your own policy, and explain the specific circumstance. Do not worry about what the term on the letter. You may go to their website where they describe their products and include a link to the product (you invested in) in your LOE.

I advise you do a table (if your POF is in other places...apart from the mutual fund) in your LOE and make your LOE the first page of your POF evidence.

Note: The fixed deposit (N......................) is evidenced with a certificate showing details of when funds were fixed and when it would mature. This can however be accessed at any time. Same goes for the Life assurance policy which is a savings and protection plan which can be redeemed anytime for cash after the policy is two years old. The policy is now four years and will mature in two month’s time.

Pls i m trying to pay for WES with my gtb mastercard but it didn't yield any positive results. For those that encountered this challenge, Pls how did u scale through? Thanks

You can make payment using GTB's USSD code (*737*2*amount*accountnumber#), same applies to First Bank and Zenith Bank using their respective code. British Council's account number is generated thus (995102 - if you are writing in Abuja, Benin or Enugu) then add the code of the month you intend to write the exam, for example 02 is the code for April while 03 is for June, 04 for July, 05 for August, 06 for September. In addition, add the last two digits of your international passport to get the complete ten digit account number. Please be informed that before completing the transaction, you would be prompted to transfer #75,000 to THE BRITISH COUNCIL check properly before you send to avoid stories that touch.

Once you have completed the transaction, send a mail with receipt of the transaction which you can generate via your online banking platform, to exams.nigeria@ng.britishcouncil.org

For those who intend to take their test in Abeokuta or Ibadan British Council's 6 digit code for the aforementioned locations is 995202 then add the month code and last two digits of your international passport. If you intend to write in Port-Harcourt the code is 995302.

If my explanation is not clear enough, kindly go online and carefully peruse the information contained on their website. Shalom

Thank you so much.

I am requesting a letter of confirmation of balance from them and we are having a few issues:

1. They use the terms life assurance policy/premium and this does not reflect the investment part of the contract but only the insurance part. Someone looking at it may not know I am getting some money from them upon maturity.

2. The duration of my policy is 5 years and expires in July. This means that by July, I will get my money. Will this be okay if I am submitting my application in April and using it as part of my PoF.

3. Finally what was the experience of your friend? And what was the format of the letter she used. Do you know if it was accepted?
I have a plan with them as well and mine also matures in July. This is my fear and the reason I haven't requested for a letter from them. Although, I have drafted a mail (which I have edited over and over again) and in that mail, I requested that they state how much I have to date and how much I will get upon maturity in July.

Try asking for a remark and also registering for another test if your bank balance allows that. It will end well.

2nd attempt....6.0, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5
3rd attempt.....6.0, 5.5, 7.5, 7.0

Don't fret. It will end well.

So many people are interested in knowing more about National Open University of Nigeria. Make I assist small. smiley

National Open University of Nigeria is an Open and Distance Learning institution. Unlike conventional universities, NOUN does not provide lectures to students in the normal classroom situation. Its principal academic feature is on development of learning materials which students receive at their various study centres in various formats (print, audio/video tapes, electronic and co).

You will download course materials and read on your own (team do it yourself cheesy). Course materials are available in hard copies too (you can collect the hard copies at your study centre). You can contact your facilitators if you have any issues and they will guide you through your studies.

Once you are admitted, the IT guys at the study centre will guide you through the process of creating your student portal. There are study centres in all the state capitals in Nigeria. The Headquarter of the school is in Abuja.

There is no fixed tuition fees in the sense that an applicant's fee in each semester is dependent on the number of courses that the applicant intends to take in that particular semester. There is a compulsory fee for each semester but you will need to pay the fee only if you intend to register a course or do an exam in that semester. The compulsory fees for new students (postgraduate) is N35,000. In addition, you will pay exam fees and course fees. The exam fees for postgraduate students is N2,000 per course. One thing I like about NOUN is the flexibility. For example, Mr A can decide to do just one course in a semester whereas Mr B can decide to do five courses in that same semester. This means you can spread your courses over a number of semesters depending on your time availability, cash and some other factors.

The grading and final results for each course is a combination of the Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs) which is 30 marks, and exams which is 70 marks. Examinations are done in a study centre.

Kindly visit the school website for more information.

Check my post above. The key is how much can you get today? state that and also state how much you will get upon maturity in July. Use the amount redeemable now as part of your POF calculation and explain. Alternatively, you may still use the amount redeemable in July...(this issue has been debated thoroughly in relation to treasury bills, future value also works)

You have to type in the exact address you used to open the account. So if you are not sure of the address I suggest you go to any branch or log in to internet banking (if you have one) and find your account info. I used GTB and my went smoothly once I realized the mistake.

grin @bolded: Just in case abi?

Anyway, I don't think you need to write this: Type of work: Temporary (part time) Not necessary IMO. Not that it spoils anything anyway. See what CIC says:

at least 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous:
full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Ensure you include other relevant info on the letter. The amount you earned has nothing to do with your application. As long as you were paid. Dazall.

In conclusion, Please let us read and understand this Express Entry Process before asking questions. Many questions here are totally unnecessary. Meanwhile, for those of you, attacking Canadianfly, i'll say there's no need for it. She's just teaching us to learn the hard way. Smart people see sense in her sarcastic answers. Some others feel she's too harsh. There'll come a time when her response will make sense to all of us.

I rest my case.
Really Ms Langan!!! so which of the sarcasm should I make sense of? the grammar policing or the constant bashing in form of sarcasm.

For the record, no one is attacking her rather correcting a wrong. If you have low people skills and can't be polite just ignore. Behind most monikers here are adults and as such should be treated with courtesy just the way you would like to be treated.

P.S I am not against encouraging people to do personal research for the journey or read from page zero but please do it with courtesy.

Hello good people.

Please I have a question regarding my sister's work experience as a Health and Social Worker.

Her years of work experience are as follows:

1). Company A: 2012 = 1 year (NYSC)

2). Company B: September 2013 to July 2014 = 1 year

3). Company C: February 2016 to January 2017 = 11 months

4). Company D: September 2017 till date = 7 months

- Since (3) and (4) are not up to 1 year, can they be combined to make it a year?

- Does she need to get reference letters for ALL?

Please advise. Thanks.

Humanly speaking, I prepared adequately for the test but I made too many errors on exam day to deserve this result. I can only give all glory to God.
