Experience is the best teacher. I don't just post any here if I am not sure of it. Don't let the applicant waste his money and time unecessarily. Since the applicant is doing the paper route, the VFS officials will not accept the family form you referred to from him and he will be forced to go and fill the correct form, that is the family form with siblings at their business centre which is somehow expensive.

Hello

I applied for my visa via paper route some days ago and I can confirm that the family Information form used now is IMM5707E.

IMM5645 is no longer used.

Hello Nairalanders,

Thanks for your help so far. wink

Please on the (IMM 1294)- Study permit form, under the ''Details of Intended study (Funds available for my stay)''- Does that mean the total funds that i have for the program, in my account and in my sponsor's account or should that be just living expenses for one year + Tuition, or does it mean only living expenses exclusive of tuition.

What does the caption ''funds available for my stay'' mean?

Please help!

goingforward.

Your costs should be the cost of your tuition and living expenses for the first year.

The funds available for your stay should be equal to or more than the sum of all your costs

Then the VFS officials are misleading people. I initially filled IMM5707 and was turned down by the guy collecting after waiting for like ten hours there. I had to come back the next day to fill the IMM5645.
Don't let us argue over it. As somebody has suggested, fill the two forms and give them the one they want. They might be funny atimes

My first app, I submitted imm5707e but no space for siblings, so I submitted Imm5645 in my second app and the lady that went through my documents didn't reject it.

Thanks for your response.

I was actually thinking I am meant to fill the full tuition where they ask:

The cost of my studies will be........................... Tuition........... Room & Board.......... Other...............

( They didn't say the cost of one year, or what do u think?)

Are they expecting details for only one year?

Please help further clarify.

They expect you to put in the first year tuition, first year living expenses (room&board) and miscellaneous expenses (others).

The visa requirement is that you show enough funds to support you in the first year of studies

Sir/Ma, I crave your indulgence that you should stop dishing out misleading information here. If you're unsure about any question, kindly jump them and give relevant answers to questions you know. Don't claim to be right when you're wrong okay. Why do you keep on saying that the updated IMM5707E is wrong? After giving a link for you to check and an Attachement from cic webpage.

You're expected to show proof of funds for your first year of studies in Canada and not for the entire period of your stay in Canada.

Tuition = ?
Room and Board = 10,000CAD
Others = 3,000CAD
Funds available for your stay = Tuition + Room and Board + Others.

All the best!

Hello house please am new to this forum. Am 26 and I applied for Canadian student visa for an undergraduate program in march. I got my denial letter on 9th. Reason being that they are not convinced that I will return after my program based on my travel history and purpose of visit.
I submitted all necessary documents including part payment of school fees receipt being 1000canadian dollar. My acceptance letter, sponsors bank statement of over 10million. I want to reapply but am confused on how to tackle these issues. Please help me with advice on what to do. Thanks
Chyann,

Sorry for the outcome of your application. At 26 going for an undergraduate degree program in Canada must present a rational explanation to what you've been doing since you last left Highschool (STUDY GAPS). You failed to convince the visa officer that you're a bona-fide student and your reasons for going to Canada for studies is not justifiable considering the high cost of relocating to Canada, that was the main reason the visa officer is not satisfied that you will leave Canada based on your purpose of visit.
Order your GCMS note using the below link so we can take it up from there.

Happy weekend

My question is if ones application tracking number starts with cala(Lagos),Does it mean the VO will start and finish all necessary check here in Lagos?

And what is the difference doing in Lagos or Ghana?

Expecting your response.
Biakwa,

Hope for a positive outcome on your visa application and forget about where your application will be processed or taken to. The 6 weeks processing times on cic webpage applies to all Nigeria study permit applications.

Ratawu & Frankrobbn1,

Thanks for the information. I think the upper hand that paper route offers is the fact that each application would be checked by the VFS official before submission.

Maybe it just makes sense to fill both forms, upon getting there, they, i will mention that filled both forms, because i wasn't sure of the specific one. I think at that point they should select the one that is the right one and remove the one they do not need.

Abi?

goingforward,

Still wondering which form could be the recommended one? Fine! you can go with the both IMM5707E and IMM5654E forms, but please endeavor to come back here and provide clarity to which of the forms was accepted from the VFS workers.

All the best on your application submission.

Hello Gurus,

Please, is there any implication or whatsoever if your sponsor doesn’t declare h/her dependants?

As we all know that, your sponsor might have enough money a times, but much dependants might make the funds look inadequate and useless. More dependants, more money to be shown.

DRiches,

It is expected of your sponsor to declare the number of dependants he/she has on their letter of sponsorship, don't conceal it.

Canada study visa gets tougher as the day breaks, inorder to save you from the stress of applying and getting a refusal based on purpose of visit, it is better you go for something higher than your previous academic level. A Masters degree or a PGD.

Hello guys,

Please how does one show home ties, if you aren't married, nor have a child nor landed property nor any kind of assets? It's a tricky one isn't it?

I've gone through the thread and some people mentioned siblings birth certificate. Half of my siblings live here in Nigeria and the other half in the US. How will this help me? Pls I need more suggestions.

Wishing you all a great weekend. God bless you all.

Jnyuwa02...pls answer so i don't have to regurgitate thrice. smiley Thanks

Siblings are not strong ties. I guess that is why the new form IMM5707E introduced did away with them. Siblings by law are not considered one’s immediate family relatives. Wife and children are immediate relatives and usually what convinces the VO. Parents too too are considered immediate relatives and to an extent, especially if they have properties that you intend to inherit, would help you as ties. If you don’t have any of these, concentrate on showing any social or professional or economic ties that would bring you back to Nigeria. For example, professional ties would be your Work. Economic ties would be landed property or business interest. Social ties would be anything you are doing or been a very promising person and the evidence shows that you would come back to Nigeria and make a difference in the lives of others. Its often not so easy to pinpoint, so I advice you concentrate on your strengths and explain what you think can induce your return to Nigeria and pray the VOs buy it!!

I can’t do a master as I graduated with a 2:2, and there is no PGD course in that course.. can’t a strong SOP tackle this, as for my age it 24 and not 25 years..

NO
But if your choice university requires it for admission, you have to do it and meet up with the required score.
In general, most schools in Canada do not require language test for admission

Since I am not yet in Canada and do not have an address, what can I fill in the column 'ADDRESS IN CANADA'? Appreciate you help on this ; especially those who have applied for student visa with accompany family.
