You are still not getting it.

As a President, You have a responsibility to market your people and nation to the world.

If he his honest, and believe that trash he said as the truth he should just resign.

Just like a cousin of mine that was employed as a marketer to sell something she did not believe in...She resigned.

[s]How can a President come to the world and describe his people (using your own words) as people with entitlement mentality that have not been schooled... [/s]

And you think it's been blunt... being blunt is resigning.

People that have not been to school with entitlement mentality.

If you had watched the video, you would have seen where he said his administration is working on it.
He identified it as a problem and gave assurance it was being worked on.

I know you didn't hear 'lazy' but I'm sure you heard him say 'they sit and do nothing, expecting to get healthcare and the likes free'. Now when someone says a lot of people sit and do nothing while waiting for freebies, can u explain that phrase in one word?
Don't mind that guy, his type are actually the lazy ones expecting to be linguistically fed letter for letter,by a president whose education is in question!

Unfortunately madam, he was saying the truth.
Like I said in another thread, the problem is most people look at this country from the city perspective.

You need to enter the slums, creeks and deep villages to have another view.

When we have as much as a million people with a wrong view of life, that is a very huge number, unfortunately the number is even more, am a field worker and have been to over 60 riverine communities as well as many communities in the core North and I can tell you we have a bigger problem than the president portrayed.

Identifying the problem is one thing, will power to work on it is another.

Unfortunately but bitterly the president was right.

Leave all your sermons now. U started by asking for where the word lazy was used now u are bringing another gist. Do u agree that those words qualify as meaning lazy?
Secondly, Mr President was to give his final thoughts on investment in the North-East and Free Trade in the African Continent. Which of these questions require that 'truthful' response? Is it with such uncharitable words that he wants to attract investment to the North-East? You mean there were no positives he could highlight except to denigrate already deprived youths? Why are you people fond 0f absolving the government of its primary responsibilities? Is the govt not supposed to provide conducive, accessible and affordable education and ensure that citizens attend? Where is the electricity, infrastructure and economic reliefs to encourage entrepreneurship and industry? Is it out of place to expect the govt to provide affordable education, healthcare, education and security for the citizens? What else are they elected to do? Sit and feed fat?

Young man, pause in this ur die-hard defence and think for once. Youths and citizens generally have been shortchanged by successive governments from military era till date. Let the government also accept its failures and do right by its citizens not destroy and denigrate the efforts already being made by the majority. U never tire to dey run generator or hear generator sound every other hour? Should u be seeing little boys pushing gallons of water around as mai ruwa? Should govt not provide potable, pipe-borne water to all nooks and crannies of the country? Why are people dying needlessly of lassa fever? Why are health workers now on strike? Who will pay the astronomic raises in fees of tertiary institutions? Is this the fault of 'lazy youths' too?

Let me drop my last comment.

Personally, people like you have made me lost complete hope in Nigeria youths since 2016/17 but if paraventure I was voted to be your LGA chair, NASS rep or Gov or president... Even though (thanks to people like you) I have accepted the youths are completely confused ... I CAN NEVER say it officially or unofficially... rather as a politician I would promote you all as the best in the world. I would psyche and motivate you all... if I could find 100 hard working youths (out of millions) I would shine my light on them making it seems to the world that is how "a lot" of them are.
because that is part of the Job I was voted to do.

But if I feel am too holier than thou... that I can't say proudlyngwa (that I was voted to represent) is an wise person (which obviously is a LIE) the best I could do is to resign with a clean conscience instead of going for second term.

Kindly point to the minute in the video where Nigerian youths were called lazy.

You guys might have gone to school, but am sorry to say you are not educated.

Shut up, you don't know better than Adesina who said that Buhari said "a lot of youths and not all are lazy"

Buhari was talking about an entitlement mentality exhibited by people who do not want to go to school and believe they should get everything free, because Nigeria is an oil producing nation.
You will read any meaning into any thing because you have a biased mind.
How many percent of people refuse to pay taxes, rates and levis, because of this entitlement mentality.
Like I said, you can criticise the stage he said it on, but he was absolutely correct.

hey get out of here your argument is flawed. you should have sense to at least summarize. when they say you're an illiterate and only want to feel entitled to something like you put it , then what is that person saying. he is calling you a hard worker right. na mumu you be.all this idiot's that sleep in their fathers house and still eat from their mums pot will come here to be proving nothing. you think if you are as lazy that's how many Nigerians are. where have traveled to in Nigeria. those boys on the road, the very busy yakura market in Kano where boys push heavy trucks just to get by their daily needs, that young graduate Lady selling ugu and the other selling mongoes just to survive. do you call these people lazy. I'm even angry that I'm wasting my time answering an unexposed bastered whose life revolves around nairaland. my advice for is travel more to see what Nigerian youths do not sitting and watching TV about some few criminals.

What is 60% of 180million, what is ten percent of that.

Mr man, incase you don't know over 5 million people below the age of 40 have no formal education, this is far more than some countries population and presents a very big problem.

That being said, half of Nigerian youths have no access to quality education and education aids. Our level of education is reflected in our society.
You are making plenty of sense.....................

He did not say 60% of Nigerian youths sit at home, he said sixty percent of the population are youths and a lot of them has not been to school.

I know a lot of Nigerians have comprehension problems.
