Read this:
https://nairametrics.com/5-nigerian-mutual-funds-beat-market-2017/

It's simple, you give funds to fund managers
who invest in stocks and share the gains
amongst all the contributors to the fund.

Managers may decide to put all funds in stocks/equity
or share funds and put some in safer investment media
like treasury bills etc

EXAMPLE :

Fund Name: Stanbic IBTC Nigerian Equity Fund
Asset Allocation: Min 75% Equities Max 25% Fixed Income
Guarantee: None
Handling Charges: 2% of redemption proceeds (if investments are redeemed within the first three months)
Investment Horizon: Long-term
Investment Objective: Capital appreciation
Minimum Investment: NGN 50,000.00
Nominal Value: N1,000.00
Redemption: Within 5 working days
Restricted Investment: None
Risk: Investors with High Risk Appetite I don't want to hear this grin
Subsequent Investment : NGN 20,000.00

Some laughed because u guys enter when d party is almost over. No more assorted meals & wine to sustain d tb party. U can still join d train anyway. Walk into any of fbn, stanbic, uba, ecobnk, zenith etc. Obtain tb form & fill it. Opt for a medium tenor of about 230 days or below (secondary market) to get a successful bid. My layman opinion

How do you calculate the FG BONDs? And where do i buy it? No time to waste undecided undecided undecided
Same as treasury bill but for savings bond interest is paid every three months for the duration of the bond.

Check for better understanding

RealityShot:
Treasury bills is still more favourable than that bond even at 10%.

why?
when you get your interest upfront, you can reinvest for more profits. But the bond pays interest every 3 months which will only be a fraction of what treasury bill holder gets upfront.

the only other option right now is EQUITY FUNDS
When rates are dropping just as we have now, it is better to lock in funds with a longer plan. I try to spread my investment. I have savings bond of over 14% locked for 3years. I invest in stock, treasury bill, savings bond, MMF......

Despite the fall in rates, tbills still remains the best currently, but remember that anything involving investment requires huge funds for a good turnout

I went to First bank today and they said that customers can only bid from 50million and above. Anything below has to buy from secondary Market.
I enquired about secondary market, I was told 8.5% for 66days. I'm just weak mehnn 8.5%.

Mutual funds are not for people 'investing' peanuts;moreover the funds appreciate more on a long term basis, especially the ones that have the compounding options;likewise treasury bills.
100k can only be good in speculating penny stocks, especially when the market is bullish.
Based on your example,if you put 100m in that same mutual fund, you should be going home with 17m after one year with no sweat.
