Hello Nairalanders,

A buddy of mine needs some advice on an issue. He would like a broad range of views or advice on this situation. He is a Nairalander himself but he says he cannot post it on his page or with his moniker because he fears bad-mouthing as a result of certain things he had earlier posted. Please Nairalanders, do help me help a brother. I have edited what he sent me to the third person. I know a lot about his situation, so you can ask me questions. Any question I cannot answer, I will ask him about. Here is the situation:

He was in a relationship with a lady for a while and he ended things early this year because the lady in question kind of told him that she wanted to get married which he did not want. She kept her distance not communicating with him for a while until he ended it. Since then he has been all about getting his life to be better and moving on. He said when they broke up, he made up his mind to build himself to a point that should they ever meet again, he would be a “boss” and prove to her that he was better without her.

They have not communicated for over 3 months now and out of the blues, she sends him a job invite for a role as a part-time phonetics teacher at a school owned by her family friend with a salary of between 70 - 90K. He has actually been looking for a job and he has been called to start work elsewhere in a financial institution (not a bank) as a Sales Agent (maybe marketer, I don’t know) with a salary of 60K.
Should he apply for the part-time job(bigger salary) from his strange ex or go with the full-time job(smaller salary) which he has already clinched? He doesn’t want to give the ex any wrong ideas.

N/B: The part-time job is closer to his house but the full-time job is quite far from his place.
He said he doesn’t want a career in either of the fields. He is just doing it to raise money for his career in entertainment.

To me he should accept the job from the ex. They parted amicably and I think the ex still care about his welfare. Since it is a part time job, he will still have time for other things. I believe his ego is standing on the way cos to him he has a point to prove.

nothing is wrong with accepting the job proposal from the ex,since they ended on a neutral ground. in this buhari tenure abeg tell your friend to troway pride and accept the job. they are your ex and not your enemies

She gave him the cold shoulder for a long time, stopped showing up at work until she suddenly went one Sunday to pack out from the office what she felt was her contribution to the business including some of his things. He had to shut down the business, pay off workers. He told me he spent a good amount of money to cover up all debt they were owing including cleaning up the place and handing it back to the landlord.

That was last year ending. I told him to move on but he refused until after she ignored him for 3 months or so, without contact. So they have not been in contact since the ending of last year. They are no longer together but shes able to bring about a job of 70k, Just imagine the length she would go for him if they were still together, some guys dull sha

The issue is that the girl likes him and wants him to make the official move. Her packing out was just initial gra gra. She wants to stage a comeback. He should take it if he wants her back if not he should go for the other job.[right][/right]

I think the girl wants back in his life. the job offer is an appeasement. she's trying to say "I'm sorry, give me a chance, I regret leaving you. I now see what I lost. take this job as a token of my remorse". I think the guy shld accept the offer and accept her back (if she asks Sha). why can't I have a girlfriend like this sef?
