Exactly my point. A taxify/Uber driver was involved in an accident last night at about 11pm,I stopped immediately I saw the incident,I asked him what happened, because the car was under a trailer. One of those trailers that carry container of goods. He said Bros na sleep carry me o. Then I asked why didnt u notice the sleep and give yourself a rest? He said its because he owes the owner of the car 10k and the woman is on his neck, and she even told him to pay up this morning which is Saturday,if not she would retrieve the car from him. Now tell me wats her again at last? Did she get the 10k? The car is gone and the 10k is gone.
My point is,this e-hailing business is no longer as It was b4 because they have slashed the fares and there are lots of drivers on the platform. So be mindful of the weekly pay u dictate to ur drivers..

You're right, owners should be mindful of their weekly rental demand, but the drivers too should also not always be too self centered, even if its 5k daily savings I believe its not too much. One uber driver that took me on offline trip from ikorodu to surulere told me that he only work 2 days to pay up his rental, but that is after he has pocket the first 5 days earning, what if his last 2 days were bad days then he will go and start over working himself.

In fact I'm sure that is exactly what happened to this driver who was trying to meet up with 10K.
I wonder what he did with his time. Anyway, the fact is that some drivers need to be more serious.

To all drivers: Never get yourself into a situation where you or the car will be at risk of harm. Simply return the car. Another opportunity will come.

Hello Great Drivers,

A Camry 2005 is ready to hit the road. If you're a great guy and can meet the following requirements, drop your number and I'd buzz you.

1) Experienced Uber Driver
2) Rental agreement
3) To deliver twice a week (Tuesdays and Friday)
4) Guarantor
5) Have a safe place to park the car
6) Shared car maintenance
7) Tell me how much you can deliver without sleeping on the steering, without overworking yourself to death

Cheers.

It happened this evening. I picked up a lady from Ikorodu to Obafemi Awolowo Way Ikeja. Trip fare was #2,200. She said she wanted to transfer, I told her okay and gave her my conditions. She agreed. She did the transfer, I didn't see a credit alert SMS, she did not see a debit alert SMS. Only option left, as per our agreement, was for her to source the cash. A male friend of hers came to her rescue after she called Him on phone. The guy comes and pays me cash. I leave the scene

Two hours later, I get the alert SMS for #2,200! Immediately, I sent a message to her to send her account number so I can transfer the cash back to her.

Still waiting for her response

Pls take down the clients name

someone Bought a car at possibly 2.M,
registered it, serviced it, insured it, and gave it to a third party so he can live, and let live and you asking what's her gain?

Was he forced into signing the dotted lines? You talk with a sense of entitlement.

I have driven on the uber platform and I know it is possible to make a savings of 5k every day mon-fr and over 7k every day sat&sun which can be used to pay rental fees.

Problem with most drivers is most of them live above their means, while others do not set their priorities straight.

I am always happy when a driver gets his own car, and starts to face maintenance challenges alone, he feels what it means to own a vehicle and keep it on the road.

the driver in question is negligent, inexperienced, and should not be on the road.

Driver might have totaled the car, but with comprehensive insurance, the owner will not loose her investment.

Good evening everyone. Please I need your valued input on this. I drive an Honda Accord 2005 EOD 3.0 engine as taxify and I have come to discover that it consumes fuel alot and practically everything I make always go into fueling of this vehicle. I complained to the owner who had his mechanic check the vehicle and the mechanic discovered that there were no catalysts in the vehicle, consequently catalysts were bought and fixed. Unfortunately after effecting these repairs the problem still persists as it still consumes fuel alot. Anytime I buy fuel I do a trip the fuel goes into reserve. Today, I spent the sum of 7,100 all together to fuel the car and making 15,000 in return with taxify commission included in it. Please what are your takes on this. Please advise on way forward.

Ha!! Pls drop that car today today. Be patient, you will get the ideal car.

Hahaha.. I surprised o.. Upgrading the entire fleet to elantra.. I am shocked o.. Coz I recall very well when you said elantra are not strong enough for uber.. That the elantra electric steering wheel will not last due to naija bad roads.. And I reply you that my own electric steering is doing good.. And your respond is that I should wait I will start hearing noise pretty soon, which am still waiting to hear o
And also how long have you waited and tested the elantras on your fleet? How long is your test run on the fleet to finally give you the conclusion that you will run full fleet of elantras ? Because before I concluded that I will use elantra as my official uber fleet , I waited to see how long those cars will run. And my test run on the platform is 11months now. It will be a 1 year in June. So my point is how long has been your test run on elantra. Well I hope it works out well for you, the only downside to the elantra is that it will get more expensive to buy now... which am experiencing now in the states...
The lesson in life is that don't be afraid to take chances. Be bold and take a risk. I took a risk on those elantras ,upon some discouragement from people that know better than I do in cars. I can recall doing the Peugeot madness or lion madness. People were saying lion is the best this and that. But I stuck to my own belife .life can be funny .whichever welcome to the Elantra family...

I'm not saying they shouldn't flex but one needs to understand ones situation, now someone on hp for corolla going to drink in Lekki phase 1. Going to The Place to drink is that not wasting money after doing all that stress of driving upandan all day. That's what I'm saying person wey work must enjoy but brain must be applied
