I see some people (or group of individuals) criticizing TWoods for his opinion. Please, we're all entitled to our opinions, no one should castigate or force his own views and beliefs unto another person, the best you can do is to express your views and opinions, not to force it down someone's throat or start attacking because he doesn't believe or share part of your beliefs. Create an environment of "Live and let live". If someone doesn't agree with your opinions, you don't have to start an attack. Just move on, don't live your whole life trying to prove a point. Stay cool

There is nothing tactical here. You have no sponsor, you’re simply swapping statements of account to see which would nab you a visa. VOs want to be sure you can afford a US education. Simple

Thank you...

Hello. Please did the course require gre or GMAT And do I have to do evaluation of transcript. Please respond pls...

From SRA (Silent reader association) but fired PMs to experts for clarity .. Did the normal procedures before interview...

Interview proper...

Firstly, I would like to alarm this particular comment-- nairaland.com is good, but wouldn't teach you so certain things - soft skills. Easier to read comments but more importantly, practice, practice and practice.. Not by my own power too, na God o. Hallelujah

I must say my intension was to take charge of the conversation, which i was able to achieve.

VO: Hello Sir, Good morning

O26: (ahah, in my mind), Good morning, hope you had a fantastic weekend.

V.O: he said nice things... (nice starting). So why are you going to the US?

O26: I'm going to Lincoln University (LU) in CA for a 2-year Master's degree program in MBA with a concentration in Management Information System after which I will go back to my for a career advancement.

V.O: you live in Europe (he mentioned the country)

O26: Yes, i live and work there. If you noticed that i have also completed an M.Eng there.

V.O: what do you do?

O26: mentioned the company's name, a front-end programmer (software testing-- gave examples, fraud investigation and developing interactive GUIs)

V.O: oh i can see you've a good profile, so why going for an MBA this, and not in this country, why .. Now here i completely pulled his attention.. He further asked, or is it because of CA is a hub for IT (Oh Bros, I noticed he tried to trap me there - -if i say "yes" penre, ah, na immigrant intent be that)

O26: (took the questions one after the other): To put it in perspective, LU is a business oriented school that offers an affordable +custom fit education.. I would like to take advantage of the multidisciplinary research center(i learned this from their website, added my own stories too) that entertains the collaboration of business professionals + student from diverse IT backgrounds in providing solution to real world problem..I chose US because her schools are of prime recognition, and comprise of professors... (said something can't remember again :: soft skills). 3. (Not because of the IT hubs in the region.. brought him back, proving myself as a legit student). I remember i said something like "this program will groom me to become an IT business architect with an understanding of... Analyzing, defining and building information system requirements and guiding other on how to build their for various business situations... Was just talking and he was listening..

V. O: How many schools did you apply to?
O26: 3 Lincoln University, Weber state university, Missouri State University

V. O: who will sponsor this trip?
O26: my mother, she's an orthopedist, essentially I'm gainfully employed as previously discussed and I've a liquid cash of * EUR.

Your visa has been approved, pick it up...

O26: (for my mind) Hey chairman, you collect all my passport - wetin happen
V. O: you wan collect am now?
O26: hmm, not really..

No documents checked, no questions about marriage..

Additional things he might have seen: my traveling experience (man don Waka for Europe o), USA B2 still valid.. been to US more than...

Maybe these gave me an edge: Almighty God (Surely), my eloquence, my accent (amerikish.. Lol), confidence (worked with many of them before) and preparation... In spite of my nice profile, bros i prayed and prepared...

Sorry to those refused visas today.. Please ask questions here.. I think there are no stupid questions. Pray and fire back..

I was unhappy to see a guy refused visa today.. I think he used an agent, and his Mr agent arranged a fake I20 for him (tried multiple times, but all proved abortive).. I'm not here to mock anyone but please stay away from agents.. You can do it yourself..!

@Theamerican, i encourage you not to stop guiding folk here, do as your mind pleases.. You rock ma'am.. Keep it up.

Thanks to many gurus here... You guys are great. I'll inbox you back...Kudos to
Scholarstica, theamerican, 4peace4, @akin3103,pianoguy, dollydolly, biikeys, jesusbabygirl(my sister from another mother), lyrondee and those that asked questions, i learnt a lot from all of you. Cheers..

I recently went for an F2 visa wit my daughter my 13months daughter
Me- good morning how re u
Vo- good morning
Vo- wats the relationship btw u and the baby
Me- she's my daughter
Vo- how long have u been married
Me- been married 2yrs
Vo- wats ur husbands name
Me- told him
Vo- wat university is he
Me- told me the name and d state it's located
Vo- so who's sponsoring u
Me- my husband
Vo- since ur husband isn't working how does he intend sponsoring u
Me- aside having the necessary financial requirements, my husband is on study leave and still gets his monthly salary from he's company back here in Nigeria
Vo- I'm sorry unfortunately u can't be granted visa at the moment, he passed me d blue slip wit visa rejections under 214b
Pls wat do I do

1. Would it be advisable for me to reapply and reduce my length of stay to just 4 weeks and tell the VO that i intend to spend my annual leave with my husband even after my initial application was on the basis of staying there throughout the duration of his studies?

2.Will it be a good decision to add an additional sponsor like my Dad or my Inlaws including my husband as my sponsor and that they will assist financially while we are there ?

3.If i do add another sponsor together with my dad, Is it compulsory that i have to submit all bank statements to the school to get a new i20 reflecting the total funds or i do not need to reapply for another i20 but rather add another sponsor and go with the extra bank statements for the new appointment?
4. What other suggestions will be most appropriate to use or present when i reapply?

Is your husband on scholarship or funding .... if no . Then it can be hard to belive how a student would then support himself and a family

While some do get it. It at the discretion of the visa officer. The only thing you can do is reapply but it can be yes or no

Please anybody. Can I book an appointment now, looking to pick date around first week of June ? Asking because My Passport expires Nov 22nd. Or I should renew my passport before booking appointment ?

If June is your proposed visa interview date, you can't travel to the states with the passport because your passport must be valid for atleast 6 months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States but you can still book your appointment and then renew your passport before your interview date

N.B

make sure you have both the new and old passport with you on your interview date

You need a passport that still has 6 months validity which is very important.

The interview can be successful But visa cannot be issues if the passport doesnt have at least 6 months so aim to get a passport before the interview

Dear Ellie,
After reading your transcript, I'm of the opinion you didn't do enough and like I always say, you made this decision too easy for the VO. That question in bold was like giving you a stage, a microphone, an audience and the chance to earn a multi-million dollar contract and sadly, you didn't earn it.

If the answer's truly what you said literally, then it simply wasn't good enough. The U.S is a country where MONEY is the biggest factor in determining anything. To that question, your answer was too general, and disappointing.

A better answer like "He has $35k cash in his checking account and despite being on study leave, he still gets $6500 monthly from the company in Nigeria. After paying rent, bills, and living expenses, he still saves about $3k monthly and we are sure that would be enough to sponsor Sandra and I".

Not like this would have guaranteed your Visa, I'm only saying it would have greatly improved your chance by answering that question and giving the VO the idea that you planned this new life properly and you would have no issues.

Finally, your husband's company in Nigeria served as a very strong tie back home and that could also be in your favor in getting that visa.

This is a case where reapplying is a good idea. You just have to prepare well. I wish you the best. smiley

Different schools want these done differently. Some schools have portals where you can upload to, some want them sent via email, or via courier. You should read the "admissions" page of the school you're interested in. Most times, the information is there.

For graduate admission, it takes anytime between 4-6 weeks to be given the admission.
But for undergraduate, it can take anything between a couple of days to one or two weeks.
In my own case,it took about 3weeks or 2weeks plus few days. Keep checking ur campusnet and if you meet all the admission requirements, they will notify you.
Best of luck....

How are you sure she has evidence of adequate financial statement to cover for this?. If her husband is not fully funded, they both have to show sufficient financial capability for the trip and not just an expression, because the VO will look at the SOA to confirm.
