In Africa there are many interesting places that are worth visiting https://set-travel.com/en/africa Many inhabitants of our continent have never even been to Egypt, where there is one of the seven wonders of the world.

Good morning house. I intend to visit Cotonou next week, I have an international passport and a yellow card. My international passport was stamped at the airport the last time I went to cotonou by air from Lagos. This time I'm going by road. My question is will I be charged again for stamping at seme? I'm not prepared to pay anybody 3500 just to have my passport stamped. Would it be better to just forget about the passport and pay the bike guys 500 to handle everything. Thanks. Do you intend using the luxury bus?

Or the "danfo" buses that move from Mile 2 to badagrt?

If it's option A, you have no worries
but if its option b *smh*

though I don't know about current happenings, but trust me, if it's your first time crossing, and you want to cross yourself, You are going to spend good money

Seme is filled with thieves and crooks

Thanks for your reply. I read a couple of times that you can just take a bike and the bike riders will handle the crossing. I think l'll just do away with the passport and pay the bike guys.

Yes you can. Better still, you can take the Vespa - usually driven by handicapped mehn. They will cross you with #500.

Hello,
How is the border crossing now that the border has been opened.? I read that they no longer ollect cah at boarder

Considering short vacation but ABC cost is 16,500 and that is just one way trip
Can I take regular cab? I have yellow card and passport ( which I've used a few times before)
I would rather not use passport.
What would you advise and how much to go with regular cabs

Hi,
Opening of the border at seme has not really changed anything concerning crossing of the border with either okada or makeshift tricycle. the border opening is mainly used by transport coys and individual who wanna cross the border on foot and is ready for the numerous harassment and bribe collecting.
if u are considering crossing without passport, just take a bike at the nigeria end of the border, pay the fare (#700 at most) and then take a cab at the Benin side to cotonou (1000cfa)
whoever told u they no longer collect cash at the border was lucky not to be sighted by those corrupt immigration peeps. CHEERS

Re: Need Traveling Advice To Cotonou by superted87: 12:04am On Dec 01, 2018
I was there last month for 2weeks.
Stayed at 3 different hotels. (Hotel ayelawaje at avontrou..safari hotel at tatnto and one close to radio maranatha) prices ranges btw 5000 cfa and 8000 cfa.
Exchange rate was #1000=1625 cfa(exchanged money twice @ igolo and city centre).
Feeding and transportation wld gulp much of your money.. it's mostly bike and you not speaking French is not a big issue if u can speak yoruba or pidgin.
